Five advanced high-strength transformation-induced plasticity(TRIP) steels with different chemical compositions were studied to correlate the retained austenite and nonmetallic inclusion content with their physical properties and the characteristics of the resistance spot welding nuggets. Electrical and thermal properties and equilibrium phases of TRIP steels were predicted using the JMatPro? software. Retained austenite and nonmetallic inclusions were quantified by X-ray diffraction and saturation magnetization techniques. The nonmetallic inclusions were characterized by scanning electron microscopy. The results show that the contents of Si, c, Al, and Mn in TRIP steels increase both the retained austenite and the nonmetallic inclusion contents. We found that nonmetallic inclusions affect the thermal and electrical properties of the TRIP steels and that the differences between these properties tend to result in different cooling rates during the welding process. The results are discussed in terms of the electrical and thermal properties determined from the chemical composition and their impact on the resistance spot welding nuggets.

The metabolic activity of the fruits continues even after harvest,which results in the loss of bioactive compounds,a decrease in the quality of the fruits,softening and browning,among other negative *** use of certain elements such as silicon can improve postharvest quality,since it is involved in the metabolic,physiological and structural activity of plants,moreover can increase the quality of the *** addition,nanotechnology has had a positive impact on crop yield,nutritional value,fruit quality and can improve antioxidant *** these reasons,the use of beneficial elements such as silicon in the form of nanoparticles can be a viable option to improve the characteristics of the *** the present study was evaluated the application of potassium silicate(125,250 and 500 mg L^(−1))and SiO_(2) nanoparticles(125,250 and 500 mg L^(−1))during the development of the *** results showed that the application of silicon(potassium silicate and silicon nanoparticles)increased the content of total soluble solids(up to 15.6%higher than control),titratable acidity(up to 38.8%higher than control),vitamin c(up to 78.2%higher than control),phenols(up to 22%higher than control),flavonoids(up to 64.6%higher than control),and antioxidant activity in lipophilic compounds(up to 56.2%higher than control).This study suggests that the use of silicon can be a good option to increase the content of bioactive compounds in cucumber fruits when they are applied during the development of the crop.

The so-called "metabolic syndrome"(MS),constitutes a cluster of metabolic and cardiovascular abnormalities,including fasting glucose,blood pressure,triglycerides,high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-c),and waist circumference that arise from insulin resistance. Obstructive sleep apnea(OSA) syndrome is characterized by recurrent episodes of partial or complete obstruction of the upper airway,involving cessation or significant decreased airflow,with intermittent hypoxemia,frequent arousals from sleep and recurrent oxyhemoglobin desaturations that interfere with normal sleep patterns generating difficulty falling asleep,unrefreshing sleep and loud snoring. The relation between these two entities is known as "Syndrome Z",and there is no question about the impact of these risk factors on health and disease. This clinical condition presents a growing epidemic Worldwide,affecting approximately 60% of the general population with both MS and OSA due to the constant increase of body mass index in humans. This article presents evidence-based data that focuses on the direct relationship between MS and OSA.

The effect of the Al-6ce-3La（AcL） on the microstructural behavior of the Al7075 was investigated. Materials were synthesized by mechanical alloying with variation in the AcL content and milling time. Products were characterized and studied in the as-milled condition and mechanically evaluated after sintering. The synergetic effect of milling time and AcL content in the modified materials led to a reduction in the particle size. Results from electron microscopy showed a homogeneous dispersion of ce/La phases up to 20 wt.% of AcL content after 10 h of milling. Mechanical evaluation under compressive test showed an improved performance for those alloys reinforced with 0.2 wt.% and 0.5 wt.% of AcL.

In recent years,there has been a growing interest in exploring alternative treatments for bone *** tissue engineering has turned its attention to plant extracts containing osteogenic flavonoids as potential promoters of bone *** our study,we specifically investigated the extract of Petroselinum crispum,a plant known for its abundance of osteogenic flavonoids such as apigenin,quercetin,and *** objective was to compare the total flavonoid content(TFc)and their accumulation in different *** obtained hydrolyzed aqueous extracts from the leaves of parsley plants(grown for 12 weeks in the field),weekly embryogenic cultures,and suspension cell *** TFc,measured in mg quercetin equivalent per gram of dry weight(QE mg/g dw),was found to be 53.81±0.97 for 52 g dw of leaves(1 kg plant fw),31.10±1.52 for 420 g dw of embryogenic cultures,and 11.80±0.76 for 210 g dw of cell ***,only the leaves and embryogenic cultures showed significant accumulation of osteogenic flavonoids,with apigenin levels of 1.8±0.3 and 0.32±0.02 mg/g dw,and kaempferol levels of 1.0±0.18 and 0.2±0.01 mg/g dw,*** findings indicate that embryogenic cultures have the potential to produce up to 40%more apigenin in 12 weeks compared to 1 kg of parsley plant,thanks to their superior biomass reproductive *** results present a promising biotechnological approach for generating extracts enriched with bioactive compounds,which can be further utilized in in vitro osteogenic testing.

The small-eared shrew genus cryptotis is the third largest in the family Soricidae and occurs in North,central,and northern South *** Mexico and central and South America,most species inhabit geographically isolated moist,montane habitats at middle and high elevations in a typical sky-island *** 49 recognized species have been partitioned into as many as six species groups based on morphological and molecular phylogenetic *** relationships among these species groups are poorly resolved,and their evolutionary histories,including migration patterns and locomotor adaptations,remain ***,we provide a new phylogeny incorporating complete mitochondrial genomes(mitogenomes)and supermatrix *** compared different evolutionary scenarios using approximately unbiased(AU),Kishino-Hasegawa(KH),and Shimodaira-Hasegawa(SH)statistical *** phylogenetic hypothesis based on mitogenomes revealed novel relationships supporting a basal position for the cryptotis parvusgroup in the genus,and a close relationship between *** and one clade of the *** former relationship is consistent with the least derived humerus morphology and northern distribution of the *** latter relationship i mplies multiple migrations between central and South *** lack of fine resolution for the species group relationships may be due partly to the lack of taxon *** contrast,multi-approach analyses suggest that the unresolved relationships may be a result of rapid diversification during the early stages of cryptotis evolution.

A low Reynolds number wind turbine blade model based on the S809 airfoil was tested in a subsonic wind tunnel to study the structural vibration of the blade under dynamic pitching maneuvers. Piezoelectric-based synthetic jet actuators were embedded inside the blade and activated with a synthetic jet momentum coefficient, cμ of 2.30 × 10-3. Structural vibration was quantified for a range of unsteady angles undergoing “pitch up and down” and “sinusoidal pitch” maneuvers at a Reynolds number of 5.28 × 104. The blade tip deflection amplitude and frequency were acquired utilizing a pair of strain gauges mounted at the root of the model. Using active flow control vibration reduction was more effective during the pitch up portion of the blade motion cycle compared to the pitch down portion. This effect is due to dynamic stall, where a leading edge vortex is shed during the pitch up motion and contributes to higher lift compared to static angles of attack and lower lift when the blade is pitched down. Dynamic stall was measured with phase-locked stereoscopic particle image velocimetry (SPIV), where global mean flow measurements reveal a shift in location and reduction in the size of a recirculating flow structure near the suction surface of the blade during the pitch up motion compared to the pitch down.

Aim： To determine the effect of two different extracts of red maca in male rats. Methods： Prostatic hyperplasia was induced in male rats with testosterone enanthate （TE）. The study comprised six groups： one control group （group 1）, one group treated with TE （group 2）, two groups treated with TE and aqueous extract of red maca （groups 3 and 4）, one group treated with hydroalcoholic extract of red maca （group 5） and one group treated with finasteride （0.1 mg, group 6）. Differences in the aqueous extract dependent on the length of time of boiling, whether for 2 or 3 hours, for groups 3 and 4 was assessed. Extracts of red maca contained 0.1 mg of benzylglucosinolate. Thereafter, a doseresponse effect of different doses of benzylglucosinolates （0.02-0.08 mg） in red maca extracts was assessed. Results： Prostate weight was similar in rats treated with freeze-dried aqueous extract of red maca prepared after 2 and 3 hours of boiling. Freeze-dried aqueous extract of red maca, hydroalcoholic extract of red maca and finasteride reduced prostate weight in rats with prostatic hyperplasia. No difference was observed between the data obtained from aqueous extract or hydroalcoholic extract of red maca. A dose dependent reduction of prostate weight was observed with the increase of the dose of benzylglucosinolates in red maca extracts. conclusion： The present study showed that hydroalcoholic or aqueous extract of red maca containing 0.1 mg of benzylglucosinolate can reduce prostate size in male rats in which prostatic hyperplasia had been induced by TE.
