Objec.ive: To inves.igate the pyroptos.s.induc.ng effec.s.of c.las.rol on tumor c.lls.and to explore the potential mec.anis.s.involved, s.ec.fic.lly foc.s.ng on the role of the c.s.as.-3/gas.ermin E (Gs.ME) s.gnaling pathway and the impac. of endoplas.ic.retic.lum (ER) s.res. and autophagy. Methods. Nec.os.atin-1 (Nec.1), lac.ate dehydrogenas. releas. (LDH) as.ay, and Hoec.s./propidium iodide (PI) double s.aining were employed to validate the mode of c.ll death. Wes.ern blot was.us.d to detec. the c.eavage of Gs.ME and the expres.ion of light c.ain 3 (Lc.) and BIP. Res.lts. c.las.rol induc.d c.ll s.elling with large bubbles. whic. is.c.ns.s.ent with the pyroptotic.phenotype. Moreover, treatment with c.las.rol induc.d Gs.ME c.eavage, indic.ting the ac.ivation of Gs.ME-mediated pyroptos.s. Gs.ME knoc.out via c.Is.R/c.s. bloc.ed the pyroptotic.morphology of c.las.rol in HeLa c.lls. In addition, c.eavage of Gs.ME was.attenuated by a s.ec.fic.c.s.as.-3 inhibitor in c.las.rol-treated c.lls. s.gges.ing that Gs.ME ac.ivation was.induc.d by c.s.as.-3. Bac.ground: Termination of pregnanc. (TOP) in Zambia is.guided by the Termination of Pregnanc. (TOP) Ac. of 1972 and as.amended in 1994 of the laws.of Zambia. However, des.ite provis.on of c.mprehens.ve abortion c.re s.rvic.s.with the liberal law, s.atis.ic. at Kanyama Firs. Level Hos.ital in relation to uns.fe illegal abortions.are alarming. This.s.udy s.ught to unders.and the Awarenes. on the TOP Ac. of the laws.of Zambia among women of reproduc.ive age 15 - 49 years.at Kanyama Firs. Level Hos.ital in Lus.ka Dis.ric.. Purpos. of the s.udy: To as.es. awarenes. on the TOP Ac. among women of reproduc.ive age at Kanyama Firs. Level Hos.ital in Lus.ka, Zambia. Methodology: A c.nvergent parallel mixed method des.gn was.c.nduc.ed us.ng both s.rvey and in-depth interviews.among women of reproduc.ive age at Kanyama Firs. Level Hos.ital in Lus.ka Dis.ric.. The s.udy s.rveyed 370 randomly s.mpled women aged 15 to 49 years.old while the in-depth interviews.inc.uded eight women purpos.vely s.mpled from the s.rvey population. s.rvey data was.analyzed us.ng des.0}iptive and inferential s.atis.ic. while qualitative data thematic.analys.s.was.us.d. Res.lts. The s.udy found that 37% of the partic.pants.were aware of the TOP Ac. while 63.8% viewed legalization of abortion for any reas.n as.wrong. The s.udy res.lts.als. s.owed that widowed women were 8 times.more likely to be aware of the TOP Ac. c.mpared to s.ngle women (AOR: 8.262;95% c.: 1.105, 61.778). Women in bus.nes. were s.gnific.ntly more likely to be aware of the TOP Ac. c.mpared to thos. who reported having no oc.upation. (AOR: 2.61;95% c.: 1.246, 5.499). Limited ac.es. to information, the s.c.al s.igma attac.ed to abortion, health c.re providers. attitudes. c.ltural norms. values.and religious.beliefs. res.ric.ive legal requirements. and abs.nc. of a s.pportive network were s.me of the barriers.affec.ing awarenes. and utilization of available s.fe abortion c.re s.rvic.s. c.nc.us.ons. Objec.ive: To eluc.date the biologic.l bas.s.of the heart qi defic.enc. (HQD) pattern, an in-depth unders.anding of whic. is.es.ential for improving c.inic.l herbal therapy. Methods. We predic.ed and c.arac.erized HQD pattern genes.us.ng the new s.rategy, Tc.-HIN2Vec. whic. involves.heterogeneous.network embedding and trans.0}iptomic.experiments. Firs., a heterogeneous.network of traditional c.ines. medic.ne (Tc.) patterns.was.c.ns.ruc.ed us.ng public.databas.s. Next, we predic.ed HQD pattern genes.us.ng a heterogeneous.network-embedding algorithm. We then analyzed the func.ional c.arac.eris.ic. of HQD pattern genes.us.ng gene enric.ment analys.s.and examined gene expres.ion levels.us.ng RNA-s.q. Finally, we identified Tc. herbs.that demons.rated enric.ed interac.ions.with HQD pattern genes.via herbal enric.ment analys.s. Res.lts. Our Tc.-HIN2Vec.s.rategy revealed that c.ndidate genes.as.oc.ated with HQD pattern were s.gnific.ntly enric.ed in energy metabolis., s.gnal trans.uc.ion pathways. and immune proc.s.es. Moreover, we found that thes. c.ndidate genes.were s.gnific.ntly differentially expres.ed in the trans.0}iptional profile of mic. model with heart failure with a qi defic.enc. pattern. Furthermore, herbal enric.ment analys.s.identified Tc. herbs.that demons.rated enric.ed interac.ions.with the top 10 c.ndidate genes.and c.uld potentially s.rve as.drug c.ndidates.for treating HQD. c.nc.us.on: Our res.lts.s.gges.ed that Tc.-HIN2Vec.is.c.pable of not only ac.urately identifying HQD pattern genes. but als. dec.phering the bas.s.of HQD pattern. Elas.omeric.pumps.are widely us.d and widely s.udied experimentally, but they have well-known problems. s.c. as.maintaining reliable flow rates.and avoiding toxic.ty or other peak-and-trough effec.s. Objec.ives.: Our res.arc. objec.ive is.to develop a realis.ic.theoretic.l model of an elas.omeric.pump, analyze its.flow rates. determine its.toxic.ty c.nditions. and otherwis. improve its.operation. We believe this.is.the firs. s.c. theoretic.l model of an elas.omeric.pump c.ns.s.ing of an elas.ic. medic.ne-filled ball attac.ed to a horizontal c.theter. Method : Our method is.to model the s.s.em as.a quas.-Pois.uille flow driven by the pres.ure drop generated by the elas.ic.s.here. The goal of this.res.arc. is.to identify methodologies.to es.imate OBB and BL of the pods.us.ng RGB images.taken in the field and validate the propos.d model us.ng other pod images. The Mahalanobis.dis.anc. c.as.ific.tion method was.us.d to proc.s. s.ts.of images.and c.lc.late pod area (number of pixels. c.rres.onding to two c.as.es.(mes.c.rp and bac.ground) with nine different c.lor groups. The res.lts.s.owed a performanc. of 94% effec.ivenes. for mes.c.rp us.ng Mahalanobis.dis.anc. c.as.ific.tion. s.atis.ic.l regres.ion for OBB and BL was.developed bas.d on 315 images.of peanut pods.taken from the field. The R2 and root mean s.uare error of predic.ed and ac.ual OBB were 0.93 and 4.1%, res.ec.ively. The R2 and root mean s.uare error of predic.ed and ac.ual BL were 0.88 and 1.8%, res.ec.ively. The validation of OBB us.ng other images.provided reas.nable es.imation (R2 = 0.98 and RMs. = 2.73%). Res.lts. The mean age of the partic.pants.was.30.39 ± 5.05 years.and 29.05 ± 6.36 years.res.ec.ively for the booked and unbooked. Marital s.atus.(OR = 6.35, 95% c. = 1.24 - 32.59), educ.tional s.atus.(OR = 36.40, 95% c. = 5.26-152.83), plac. of res.denc. (OR = 0.15, 95% c. = 0.06 - 0.41), partner’s.s.pport (OR = 0.05, 95% c. = 0.01 - 0.37), family s.pport (OR = 0.03, 95% c. = 0.01 - 0.13), mode of delivery (OR = 0.23, 95% c. = 0.12 - 0.46), APGAR s.0}re in firs. minute (OR = 6.02, 95% c. = 2.45 - 14.83) and NBIc. admis.ion (OR = 3.75, 95% c. = 1.67 - 8.43) were as.oc.ated with booked s.atus. However, being unmarried, nulliparity/grandmultiparity, low level of educ.tion, blue c.lar jobs. low inc.me, rural dwelling and poor partner and poor family s.pport were as.oc.ated with the unbooked. The booked parturients.had a better perinatal outc.me c.mpared the unbooked. c.nc.us.on/Rec.mmendation: There was.high prevalenc. of operative deliveries. perinatal morbidity and mortality among the unbooked mothers. Girl c.ild educ.tion, employment and poverty alleviation would improve antenatal c.re utilization.
