About 60% of blueberry (Vac.inium c.rymbosum) plantations in Argentina are loc.ted in the provinc.s of Entre Ríos and Buenos Aires. alternaria tenuissima and Pestalotiopsis guepinii have been reported as pathogens of blueberry, c.using leaf spots and branc. c.nkers. The aims of this researc. were to estimate the prevalenc. of these mic.oorganisms on leaves and fruits taken from c.ops loc.ted in Entre Ríos and Buenos Aires, as well as to differentiate leaf symptoms after target inoc.lations with eac. pathogen individually and in mixtures. Both fungi were present in blueberry fields from 2010 to 2013. A. tenuissima was the most prevalent pathogen, as most of the symptoms detec.ed in the fields had been c.used by this spec.es. As a result of inoc.lations on c.. O’Neal, injured tissues showed symptoms before undamaged ones. Leaf symptoms c.used by A. tenuissima differed from those c.used by P. guepinii bec.use of their predominant reddish c.lor and the absenc. of drop-off of the c.ntral part of the lesions. When inoc.lated in a mixture, inc.bation period on leaves was intermediate between the registered for individual inoc.lations. The leaves showed reddishbrown spots typic.l of A. tenuissima and dark brown spots typic.l of P. guepinii, both with red margins. Blight, defoliation and c.nker symptoms c.used in eac. c.se were undistinguishable.

Viral hepatitis c.n result in important morbidity and mortality,with its impac. on health c.nditioned by the spec.fic.type of hepatitis,the geographic.l region of presentation and the development and ac.ess to new drugs,among other *** ac.te presentation forms are self-limiting and may even go unnotic.d,with just a small perc.ntage of c.ses leading to ac.te liver failure that may nec.ssitate transplantation or even c.use the death of the ***,when they bec.me c.ronic.as in the c.se of hepatitis B virus and c.virus,unless they are diagnosed and treated adequately they may have severe c.nsequenc.s,like c.rrhosis or *** of the mec.anisms of transmission,the pathogenesis,the presenc. of vac.inations and the development over rec.nt years of new highly-effic.ent,potent drugs have meant that we are now fac.d with a new sc.nario in the management of viral hepatitis,partic.larly hepatitis B virus and hepatitis c.*** spec.ac.lar advanc.s in hepatitis c.virus treatment have led the World Health Organization to propose the objec.ive of its eradic.tion by *** key aspec. to ac.ieving this goal is to ensure that these treatments reac. all the more vulnerable population groups,in whom the different types of viral hepatitis have a high prevalenc. and c.nstitute a nic.e that may perpetuate infec.ion and hinder its ***,mic.oelimination programs assume spec.al relevanc. at the present time.

This review provides information determining how muc. vitamin c.to take, inc.uding analysis of the rec.nt findings, whic. demonstrate advantages and problems with higher daily doses. The Daily Value for vitamin c.was raised to 90 mg for men in 2000, and Upper Limit of 2,000 mg per day was established as being safe. This followed a study of urinary exc.etion of vitamin c.(AA) that demonstrated 500 mg twic. a day provides levels suffic.ent to c.use c.ntinuous urinary exc.etion in humans. That is the lowest oral dosage evaluated that signific.ntly saturates blood plasma. A later study endorsed 200 mg from dietary sourc.s for the RDA. Even though plasma c.nc.ntration of AA is then signific.ntly lower, at 200 mg daily c.rtain white blood c.lls are saturated with AA. Rec.ntly many studies have indic.ted the benefit of high levels of AA to maintain the brain, bones, and heart, reduc. damage from stroke, brain trauma, and c.tarac.s, and lower the risk of c.nc.r metastasis and c.lds. Pro-oxidant ac.ivity has been found only for i.v. adminstration, where high c.nc.ntrations appear effec.ive destroying tumor c.lls while not harming normal c.lls. This review evaluates rec.nt researc. and finds it c.nsistent with the hypothesis that people, espec.ally older people and soldiers in c.mbat environments, are likely to benefit if they maintain the saturating level of AA by taking 500mg supplements twic. a day.

The adsorption of c.balt ions was evaluated using sediment samples from water bodies to investigate the adsorption properties of sediment and the behavior of these natural materials in the presenc. of nuc.ear and industrial waste. The two sediments(S1 and S2) were treated to eliminate humic.and fulvic.ac.ds and then they were c.arac.erized by several tec.niques. The minerals found in both the sediments(X-ray diffrac.ion) were quartz and albite; plus, goethite and musc.vite in S1, and kaolinite and montmorillonite in S2. Point of zero c.arge(PZc. of S1 and S2 was 6.00 and 5.22, respec.ively. The spec.fic.area of S1(63.3 m2/g) is higher than S2(1.5 m2/g). Adsorption kinetic. data for S1 and S2 were best fitted to the pseudo sec.nd-order model. The removal effic.enc. of S1 for c.balt was 96% with an adsorption c.pac.ty(qe) of 0.93 mg/g, and for S2 was 45% with a qeof 0.40 mg/g. The experimental data of the adsorption isotherms were adjusted to Langmuir and Freundlic. models for S1 and S2, respec.ively. The thermodynamic.parameters(enthalpy, entropy, and Gibb’s free energy) indic.ted that the adsorption proc..ses were endothermic. spontaneous, and c.emisorption mec.anism. The results show that the adsorption c.pac.ties of the sediments depend on their c.mposition. These water sediments have important adsorption properties for c.balt, and they c.n be used in the treatment of nuc.ear and industrial aqueous wastes.

Bac.ground: c.ntinuous exposure to millimolar (mM) Vitamin c.(AA) in vitro kills c.nc.r c.lls. For superfic.al bladder c.rc.noma (SBc., standard c.emotherapy is instillation of Bac.llus c.lmette-Guerin. The rec.rrenc. rate with this therapy is 91%. But high dosage vitamins inc.uding AA reduc.d the rec.rrenc. to 41%. Aim: To determine the oral dosage of AA that c.uses the highest c.nc.ntration of AA [AA] in the bladder. Method: We c.nduc.ed a c.inic.l trial of 14 people who took various dosages of AA, and analyzed the [AA] in their urine. Results: AA above 2 g twic. a day was not absorbed. But that intake produc.d a bladder [AA] above 1 mM in all partic.pants. c.nc.usion: Taking 2 g of AA BID will inc.ease [AA] in the bladder to a level likely to kill c.nc.r c.lls that c.use SBc. Taking that dosage 2 c.nsec.tive days a week is likely to reduc. the rec.rrenc. rate of SBc.substantially.
