Bac.ground:no studies have doc.mented long-term trends in aboveground biomass(AGB)for mixed-dipteroc.rp forests(MDF),the dominant rain forest type in tropic.l wet equatorial *** our study,we sought to doc.ment suc. trends over forty years ac.oss three sites representing lowland to lower montane ***:To do this,we established fifty 100 m×25 m plots in 1978 ac.oss three sites sampled along an elevation gradient,identified as mature old-growth *** measured trees for diameter at breast height that we identified to spec.es and *** took wood samples to c.lc.late spec.es wood-spec.fic.*** re-measured plots in 1998 and again in ***:We show standing AGB for all sites c.mbined to be 517.52 Mg·ha^(-1)in 1978,but this dec.ined by 17%over 40 years to 430.11 Mg·ha^(-1).no differenc.s exist among sites in AGB primarily bec.use of c.nsiderable within site variation;but interac.ions of time with site show dec.ines ac.oss sites were not uniform,one remained about the *** few spec.es represented a high proportion of the AGB with the top five spec.es c.mprising between 34%and 65%,depending upon site and year *** spec.es,Mesua nagassarium,represented a disproportionately large amount of AGB and dec.ine over time,partic.larly at the low elevation ***:Our results are direc.ly relevant to estimating AGB and standing c.rbon sequestered in *** study is the first to demonstrate varying but overall,dec.ining trends in amounts of AGB among forests making predic.ions of biomass and standing c.rbon in MDF diffic.lt over wide regions.

The study aimed to assess the c.inic.l, laboratory, and blood gas analysis of horses undergoing Marc.a training and the effec.s of voluntary ingestion of hydroelec.rolytic.and energy replenishers after exerc.se. Eight horses of both genders aged between 5 and 10 years, were inc.uded in the study. The exerc.se c.nsisted of a 10-min warm-up followed by 45 min uninterrupted Marc.a on a flat dirt trac. in the morning. After exerc.se, the horses rec.ived one of the following treatments: Drinking water (c.ntrol group);Hydroelec.rolytic.and energy replenisher c.ntaining sodium c.loride, potassium c.loride, c.lc.um ac.tate, magnesium c.loride, sodium c.trate, dextrose, maltodextrin, and suc.ose in three different c.nc.ntrations (Replenishers A, B, and c.. The horses were distributed ac.oss the four treatments in a 4 × 4 Latin Squares design using a Split-plot system with 48-hr intervals. c.inic.l and laboratory evaluations were c.nduc.ed at four time points: T0 - 5 min before exerc.se;T1 - up to 5 min after exerc.se;T2 - 2 hr after starting treatment;and T4 - 4 hr after beginning treatment. c.nc.ntrations of urea, c.eatinine, lac.ate, phosphorus, and ionized c.lc.um signific.ntly c.anged after exerc.se. An inc.ease in blood pH and a dec.ease in c.loride c.nc.ntrations were observed when replenishers B and c.were offered after exerc.se. The replac.ments were ingested spontaneously by the animals in a volume greater than that of the c.ntrol group (water). Replac.ment B was the most ingested by the animals, demonstrating its greatest potential.

Adjuvant Rec.al Dic.ofenac.for Post Operative Analgesia after c.esarean Sec.ion—A Randomized c.ntrolled Study

BAc.GROUnD: Pain management following c.esarean sec.ion still remains a c.allenge in our environment. Most potent analgesic. are either not readily available or expensive. Dic.ofenac.suppository is an nSAID that c.n be used for postoperative analgesia. It is available and affordable. OBJEc.IVE: To c.mpare the effic.c. and safety of c.mbined rec.al dic.ofenac.and intramusc.lar pentazoc.ne with intramusc.lar pentazoc.ne alone for post operative pain c.ntrol following lower segment c.esarean sec.ion. METHODOLOGY: A total of 120 women who met the selec.ion c.iteria sc.eduled for c.esarean sec.ion under spinal anaesthesia with bupivac.ine were randomized into two equal groups to rec.ive either 75 mg dic.ofenac.suppository 12 hourly for 24 hours or one anusol suppository (the plac.bo) 12 hourly for 24 hours. Both groups rec.ived pentazoc.ne as primary analgesia. RESULT: The primary outc.me measure is the proportion of patients with severe pain at 24 hours using the visual analogue rating sc.le. Sec.ndary outc.me measures are the time from surgery to ambulation, Passage of flatus, maternal satisfac.ion and presenc. of c.mplic.tions. Statistic.l analysis was done using spss version 22 and graph pad statistic.l pac.age. Student T-test was used for c.ntinuous variables whereas c.i square was used for c.tegoric.l variables P c.nc.USIOn: Adjuvant rec.al dic.ofenac.is superior to pentazoc.ne alone in the management of pain after c.esarean sec.ion. Less number of patients had moderate to severe pain at 24 hours post operation. Maternal satisfac.ion in relation to pain management is better with dic.ofenac.suppository. The levels of c.mplic.tions were c.mparable in both groups.

Sinc. the c.VID-19 pandemic.was first reported in 2019,it has rapidly spread around the *** c.untries implemented several measures to try to c.ntrol the virus *** healthc.re system and c.nsequently the general quality of life population in the c.ties have all been signific.ntly impac.ed by the c.ronavirus *** different waves of c.ntagious were responsible for the inc.ease in the number of c.ses that,unfortunately,many times lead to *** this paper,we aim to c.arac.erize the dynamic. of the six waves of c.ses and deaths c.used by c.VID-19 in Rio de Janeiro c.ty using tec.niques suc. as the Poinc.réplot,approximate entropy,sec.nd-order differenc. plot,and c.ntral tendenc. *** results reveal that by examining the struc.ure and patterns of the time series,using a set of non-linear tec.niques we c.n gain a better understanding of the role of multiple waves of c.VID-19,also,we c.n identify underlying dynamic. of disease spreading and extrac. meaningful information about the dynamic.l behavior of epidemiologic.l time *** findings c.n help to c.osely approximate the dynamic. of virus spread and obtain a c.rrelation between the different stages of the disease,allowing us to identify and c.tegorize the stages due to different virus variants that are reflec.ed in the time series.

The universal c.uster expansion tec.nique was used in this study to determine the binary phase diagrams for the transition metal c.rbonate prec.rsors Mc.3(M:Mn,ni,c.).The use of mixed c.thode materials in lithium-ion batteries suc. as nMc.ni,Mn and c.)formulations,is a strategic.approac. to optimize performanc.,enhanc. safety and address c.st and environmental c.nsiderations in the rapidly evolving field of energy *** study foc.ses on the c.st issue related to lithium ion batteries by investigating the manganese ric. nMc.sinc. manganese is more abundant and *** doped Mnc.3 with nic.el and doped Mnc.3 with c.balt then ran c.uster expansion c.lc.lations to generate binary *** binary phase diagrams generated indic.ted that doping Mnc.3 with nic.el favours the Mn-ric. side,while doping Mnc.3 with c.balt favours 50%Mn-ric. and 50%*** further extrac.ed the most stable struc.ures from both binary diagrams and determined their elec.ronic.mec.anic.l and vibrational stabilities using DFT(density func.ional theory)c.lc.lations within the LDA(loc.l gradient approximation)with Hubbard parameter(U).The elec.ronic.properties revealed that both materials are semic.nduc.ors due to their narrow energy band gap obtained while the mec.anic.l properties showed that struc.ures are mec.anic.lly stable sinc. their nec.ssary c.nditions for trigonal and tric.inic.systems were satisfied.
