Aging is characterized by the gradual deterioration of function at the molecular,cellular,tissue,and organism levels in *** typical diseases caused by changes in body composition,as well as functional decline in the human body’s organs due to aging include sarcopenia and metabolic *** accumulation of dysfunctional agingβcells with age can cause decreased glucose tolerance and *** decline has a multifactorial origin,involving lifestyle habits,disease triggers,and age-dependent biological *** reduced function ofβcells in elderly people lowers insulin sensitivity,which affects protein synthesis and interferes with muscle *** functional decrease and aggravation of disease in elderly people with less regular exercise or physical activity causes imbalances in food intake and a continuous,vicious *** contrast,resistance exercise increases the function ofβcells and protein synthesis in elderly *** this review,we discuss regular physical activities or exercises to prevent and improve health,which is sarcopenia as decreased muscle mass and metabolic disorders as diabetes in the elderly.

Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is defined as hepatic steatosis, inflammation,and hepatocyte injury with or without fibrosis. It has emerged as thesecond leading indication for liver transplantation with a rising death rate in thenon-transplantable population. While there are many drugs in evaluation,currently no approved therapies are on the market for this condition. Given thisimportance, the Food and Drug Administration has provided formal guidanceregarding drug development for stopping or reversing NASH or NASH associatedfibrosis. The complex pathogenesis of NASH and its bidirectional relationshipwith metabolic syndrome has highlighted multiple drugs of interest thataddress metabolic, inflammatory, and fibrotic factors. A few promising liverspecific targets include farnesoid X receptor agonists and peroxisome proliferatoractivatedreceptor agonists. Previously studied drug classes such as glucagon-likepeptide-1 analogs or sodium/glucose transport protein 2 inhibitors have alsodemonstrated ability to improve hepatic steatosis. Here we discuss currentrationale, scientific work, and preliminary data in combining multiple drugs forthe purposes of a multimodal attack on the pathogenesis of NASH. We highlightmultiple Phase 2 and Phase 3 studies that demonstrate the potential to achieve aresponse rate higher than previously assessed monotherapies for this ***, one of these combination strategies may rise above in its safety andefficacy to become a part of a standardized approach to NASH.

Recurrent Neural Networks(RNNs)have been widely applied to deal with temporal problems,such as flood forecasting and financial data *** the one hand,traditional RNNs models amplify the gradient issue due to the strict time serial dependency,making it difficult to realize a long-term memory *** the other hand,RNNs cells are highly complex,which will signifi-cantly increase computational complexity and cause waste of computational resources during model *** this paper,an improved Time Feedforward Connections Recurrent Neural Networks(TFC-RNNs)model was first proposed to address the gradient issue.A parallel branch was introduced for the hidden state at time t−2 to be directly transferred to time t without the nonlinear transforma-tion at time t−*** is effective in improving the long-term dependence of ***,a novel cell structure named Single Gate Recurrent Unit(SGRU)was *** cell structure can reduce the number of parameters for RNNs cell,consequently reducing the computational ***,applying SGRU to TFC-RNNs as a new TFC-SGRU model solves the above two ***,the performance of our proposed TFC-SGRU was verified through sev-eral experiments in terms of long-term memory and anti-interference *** results demonstrated that our proposed TFC-SGRU model can cap-ture helpful information with time step 1500 and effectively filter out the *** TFC-SGRU model accuracy is better than the LSTM and GRU models regarding language processing ability.

This study evaluated the association of periurethral calcification(PUC)with uroflowmetric parameters and symptom severity in male patients with lower urinary tract symptoms(LUTS)of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).The data were collected from a prospectively maintained database of 1321 men with LUTS of BPH who visited Chonnam National University Hospital(Gwang-ju,Korea)from January 2015 to December *** severity and location were evaluated on the midsagittal plane during transrectal *** among age,prostate-related parameters,International Prostate Symptom Score(IPSS),and uroflowmetric parameters were *** the 1321 patients in this study,530(40.1%)had *** with PUC had significantly higher IPSS(mean±standard deviation[s.d.]:15.1±8.7 vs 13.1±7.9;P<0.001)and lower peak flow rate(Qmax;mean±s.d.:12.4±6.6 ml s^(-1) vs 14.7±13.3 ml s^(-1);P<0.001),compared with patients who did not have *** according to PUC severity revealed that patients with severe PUC had higher prostate-specific antigen(PSA)level(P=0.009),higher total IPSS(P<0.001),lower Qmax(P=0.002),and smaller prostate volume(P<0.001),compared with patients who had non-severe(mild or moderate)*** analysis showed that distal PUC was independently associated with high total IPSS(P=0.02),voiding symptom score(P=0.04),and storage symptom score(P=0.023),and low Qmax(P=0.015).In conclusion,PUC was significantly associated with worse LUTS parameters in terms of IPSS and ***,distally located PUC was independently associated with worse LUTS of BPH in men.

Mechanical joint performances of friction self-piercing riveted carbon fiber reinforced polymer and AZ31B Mg alloy

Carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) and AZ31B Mg alloy were joined by the friction self-piercing riveting(F-SPR) with different steel rivet shank sizes. With the increase of rivet shank size, lap shear fracture load and mechanical interlock distance increased. Ultrafine grains were formed at the joint in AZ31B as a result of dynamic recrystallization, which contributed to the higher hardness. Fatigue life of the CFRP-AZ31B joint was studied at various peak loads of 0.5, 1, 2, and 3 kN and compared with the resistance spot welded AZ31B-AZ31B from the open literature. The fatigue performance was better at higher peak load(>2 kN) and comparable to that of resistance spot welding of AZ31B to AZ31B at lower peak loads(<1 kN). From fractography, the crack initiation for lower peak load(<1 kN) case was observed at the fretting positions on the top and bottom surfaces of AZ31B sheet. When peak load was increased, fretting between the rivet and the top of AZ31B became more dominant to initiate a crack during fatigue testing.

Noise robustness of an operational modal-based structural damage-detection scheme using impact-synchronous modal analysis

Data-driven damage-detection schemes are usually unsupervised machine-learning models in practice,as these do not require any ***-based features are commonly used in these schemes but often require several other parameters to accurately correlate with damage,as they may not globally represent the model,making them less sensitive to *** data,such as frequency response functions(FRFs)and principal component analysis(PCA)reduced FRFs(PCA-FRFs),inherits the dynamic characteristics of the structure,and it changes when damage occurs,thus showing sensitivity to ***,noise from the environment or external sources such as wind,operating machines,or the in-service system itself,can reduce the modal data's sensitivity to damage if not handled properly,which affects damage-detection *** study proposes a noise-robust operational modal-based structural damage-detection scheme that uses impact-synchronous modal analysis(ISMA)to generate clean,static-like FRFs for damage *** allows modal data collection without requiring shutdown conditions,and its denoising feature aids in generating clean,static-like FRFs for damage *** results showed that the FRFs obtained through ISMA under noise conditions have frequency response assurance criterion(FRAC)and cross signature assurance criterion(CSAC)scores greater than 0.9 when compared with FRFs obtained through experimental modal analysis(EMA)under static conditions;this validates the denoising feature of *** the denoised FRFs are reduced to PCA-FRFs and used in an unsupervised learning-based damage-detection scheme,zero false alarms occur.

Lattice structures have drawn much attention in engineering applications due to their lightweight and multi-functional *** this work,a mathematical design approach for functionally graded(FG)and helicoidal lattice structures with triply periodic minimal surfaces is *** types of lattice structures including uniform,helicoidal,FG,and combined FG and helicoidal are fabricated by the additive manufacturing *** deformation behaviors,mechanical properties,energy absorption,and acoustic properties of lattice samples are thoroughly *** load-bearing capability of helicoidal lattice samples is gradually improved in the plateau stage,leading to the plateau stress and total energy absorption improved by over 26.9%and 21.2%compared to the uniform sample,*** phenomenon was attributed to the helicoidal design reduces the gap in unit cells and enhances fracture *** acoustic properties,the design of helicoidal reduces the resonance frequency and improves the peak of absorption coefficient,while the FG design mainly influences the peak of absorption *** broad range of frequency from 1000 to 6300 Hz,the maximum value of absorption coefficient is improved by18.6%-30%,and the number of points higher than 0.6 increased by 55.2%-61.7%by combining the FG and helicoidal *** study provides a novel strategy to simultaneously improve energy absorption and sound absorption properties by controlling the internal architecture of lattice structures.

采用Rtec-MFT5000型多功能摩擦磨损试验机对几种不同蠕化率的蠕墨铸铁进行了往复滑动摩擦试验,研究了蠕化率对蠕墨铸铁的磨损表面损伤行为和和磨损性能的影响。结果表明,在相同工况条件下,蠕墨铸铁的抗磨损性能随蠕化率的提高呈下降趋势,在载荷30 N的情况下,蠕化率61%的试样的磨损体积为0.049 mm^(3),比蠕化率83%、96%的试样耐磨性分别提高了16.9%、22.2%。在相同载荷下,试样的摩擦系数随着蠕化率的提高而降低。随着载荷的增加,蠕墨铸铁的平均摩擦系数呈下降趋势。在低载荷2 N的情况下,蠕墨铸铁的磨损机制主要为显微切削。随着载荷增加到15 N时,磨损机制为显微切削和黏着磨损的混合形式。当载荷增大到30 N时,蠕墨铸铁的磨损机制为显微切削、黏着磨损和疲劳磨损的混合形式。
