The aim of this study was to encapsulate blackberry juice through complex coacervation,using carrageenan,tragacanth,and xanthan associated with pea protein as wall materials,in addition to characterizing the particles and evaluating the profile of release in vitro after its application in diet chewable candies with blended pulp of blackberry,butia and red *** following analyses were performed:phenolic compounds,turbidimetry,encapsulation efficiency,antioxidant activity,morphology(SEM),functional groups(FTIR),thermal behavior(DSC),and in vitro *** complex coacervation between pea protein/carrageenan,pea protein/tragacanth,and pea protein/xanthan particles occurred at pH 3.09,4.61,and 3.45 respectively,in a ratio of 1:2(w/w).Higher values of encapsulation efficiency and antioxidant activity were observed for pea protein/carrageenan and pea protein/*** and FTIR analyses confirmed the *** application of pea protein/tragacanth particles in the production of candies proved to be efficient for providing the highest percentages of phenolic compound release in the intestinal phase.

In spite of advances in surgical care and rehabilitation, the consequences of spinal cord injury （SCI） are still challenging. Several experimental therapeutic strategies have been studied in the SCI field, and recent advances have led to the development of therapies that may act on the inhibitory microenvironment. Assorted lineages of stem cells are considered a good treatment for SCI. This study investigated the effect of systemic transplantation of mesenchymal stem cells （MSCs） in a compressive SCI model. Here we present results of the intraperitoneal route, which has not been used previously for MSC administration after compressive SCI. We used adult female C57BL/6 mice that underwent laminectomy at the T9 level, followed by spinal cord compression for 1 minute with a 30-g vascular clip. The animals were divided into five groups： sham （anesthesia and laminectomy but without compression injury induction）, MSC i.p. （intraperitoneal injection of 8×10^5 MSCs in 500 μL of DMEM at 7 days after SCI）, MSC i.v. （intravenous injection of 8 × 10^5 MSCs in 500μL of DMEM at 7 days after SCI）, DMEM i.p. （intraperitoneal injection of 500μL of DMEM at 7 days after SCI）, DMEM i.v. （intravenous injection of 500 μL of DMEM at 7 days after SCI）. The effects of MSCs transplantation in white matter sparing were analyzed by luxol fast blue staining. The number of preserved fibers was counted in semithin sections stained with toluidine blue and the presence of trophic factors was analyzed by immunohistochemistry. In addition, we analyzed the locomotor performance with Basso Mouse Scale and Global Mobility Test. Our results showed white matter preservation and a larger number of preserved fibers in the MSC groups than in the DMEM groups. Furthermore, the MSC groups had higher levels of trophic factors （brain-derived neurotrophic factor, nerve growth factor, neurotrophin-3 and neurotrophin-4） in the spinal cord and improved locomotor performance. This study aimed to develop and characterize a cake based on a flour mixture of pigeonpea and rice. Four cake formulations of different percentages of pigeonpea flour (PF) and Rice Flour (RF) (0% PF + 100% RF, 10% PF + 90% RF, 20% PF + 80% RF, 30% PF + 70% RF) were developed based on a traditional formulation. Microbiological, physicochemical and sensory evaluations were performed. The tasters preferred the mix formulation containing 30% pigeonpea and 70% rice (p product, with good acceptance and technological potential. This product meets the needs of the food industry, such as: 1) it is gluten-free;2) contributes for the adoption of healthy eating habits;3) promotes family farming;and 4) stimulates the consumption of regional vegetables that can be incorporated into school meals menus, rescuing the consumption habits of rice and beans and eventually valuing the traditional Brazilian diet. It is worth noting the low lipid, high fiber, iron and zinc content characteristic of the developed product.

In 2010, Brazil endorsed a new national policy of solid wastes, which has a very ambitious target to close up all the dumping areas and to manage adequately all the municipal solid waste, disposing in landfills only the refuse of treated municipal solid waste after 2019. Food waste is the largest representative of organic waste produced in Brazilian municipalities, which can produce both fertilizer and biogas through anaerobic digestion （AD） process, reducing in both cases greenhouse gases emissions. AD assays of some samples of restaurant food wastes were performed in batch laboratory, 500 mL reactors for determination of optimized start-up conditions. The tests were conducted in triplicate, using anaerobic sludge from a poultry slaughterhouse wastewater treatment as inoculum to start up the anaerobic biodigestors. The effect of three different substrates to inoculum mixing ratios 10：90 （S1）, 20：80 （S2） and 30：70 （S3） was evaluated. The food waste used as substrate was previously homogenized and submitted to aerobic mechanical mixing for four days before it was fed in the reactors in anaerobic conditions at the mentioned proportions with the inoculum. The reactors were maintained at 35 ℃ and under mechanical mixing at 60 rpm. The methane production was monitored until its stabilization. Results showed that S1 presented the best performance during the initial 12 d, when it totalized 526 NmLCH4/gVSsubstrate.

Introduction： The invagination of one intestinal loop within another rarely occurs in adults mid it is usually caused by a polyp or another intJcaluminal lesion. Intussusceptions occur mostly in children; an organic lesion is not necessary, and colic pain syndrome, rectal bleeding, and a palpable mass （the intussuscepted segment） are characteristics. Justification： To compare data from a tertiary reference hospital with data described in the literature, considering the evolution of such patients is unknown in our field. Objective： To report the case of a patient with distal jejunal intussusception from melanoma metastasis. Method： Information was obtained through medical record reviews, patient interviews, photographic records of the diagnostic methods and the surgery to which patients were subjected, and literature review. Final considerations： The case reported and the publications surveyed bring to light the discussion on the therapeutics of the complex condition that is melanoma metastasis, showing that some patients may present satisfactory and lasting results regarding symptom relief and improvement of quality of life.

Recent data indicate that IGF1R/IRS signaling is a potential therapeutic target in BCR-ABL1-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms(MPN);in this pathway,IRS2 is involved in the malignant transformation induced by JAK2^(V617F),and upregulation of IGF1R signaling induces the MPN ***157,a synthetic compound designed as an IGF1R-IRS1/2 inhibitor,has been shown to induce antineoplastic effects in solid ***,we aimed to characterize the molecular and cellular effects of NT157 in JAK2^(V617F)positive MPN cell lines(HEL and SET2)and primary patient hematopoietic *** JAK2^(V617F)cell lines,NT157 decreased cell viability,clonogenicity,and cell proliferation,resulting in increases in apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in the G2/M phase(p<0.05).NT157 treatment inhibited IRS1/2,JAK2/STAT,and NFκB signaling,and it activated the AP-1 complex,downregulated four oncogenes(CCND1,MYB,WT1,and NFKB1),and upregulated three apoptotic-related genes(CDKN1A,FOS,and JUN)(p<0.05).NT157 induced genotoxic stress in a JAK2/STAT-independent ***157 inhibited erythropoietin-independent colony formation in cells from polycythemia vera patients(p<0.05).These findings further elucidate the mechanism of NT157 action in a MPN context and suggest that targeting IRS1/2 proteins may represent a promising therapeutic strategy for MPN.
