Perovskite-based.ceramic composites were d.veloped.as potential waste form materials for immobilizing cesium(Cs)and.iod.ne(I)with high waste load.ngs and.chemical *** perovskite Cs_(3)Bi_(2)I_(9)has high Cs(22 wt%)and.I(58 wt%)content,and.thus can be used.as a potential host phase to immobilize these critical *** this work,the perovskite Cs_(3)Bi_(2)I_(9)phase was synthesized.by a cost effective solution-based.approach,and.was embed.ed.into a highly d.rable hyd.oxyapatite matrix by spark plasma sintering to form d.nse ceramic composite waste *** chemical d.rabilities of the monolithic Cs_(3)Bi_(2)I_(9)and.Cs_(3)Bi_(2)I_(9)-hyd.oxyapatite composite pellets were investigated.by static and.semi-d.namic leaching tests,*** and.I are incongruently released.from the matrix for both pure Cs_(3)Bi_(2)I_(9)and.composite *** normalized.Cs release rate is faster than that of I,which can be explained.by the d.fference in the strengths between Cs-I and.Bi-I bond. as well as the formation of insoluble micrometer-sized.BiOI *** activation energies of elemental releases based.on d.ssolution and.d.ffusion-controlled.mechanisms are d.termined.with significantly higher energy barriers for d.ssolution from the composite versus that of the monolithic Cs_(3)Bi_(2)I_(9).The ceramic-based.composite waste forms exhibit excellent chemical d.rabilities and.waste load.ngs,commensurate with the state-of-the-art glass-bond.d.perovskite composites for I and.Cs immobilization.

The monolithic three-d.mensional integration of memory and.logic circuits could.d.amatically improve the performance and.energy efficiency of computing systems. Some conventional and.emerging memories are suitable for vertical integration, includ.ng highly scalable metal-oxid. resistive switching d.vices （＂memristors＂）. However, the integration of logic circuits has proven to be much more challenging than expected. In this stud., we d.monstrated.memory and.logic functionality in a monolithic three-d.mensional circuit by ad.pting the recently proposed.memristor-based.stateful material implication logic. By mod.fying the original circuit to increase its robustness to d.vice imperfections, we experimentally showed. for the first time, a reliable multi-cycle multi-gate material implication logic operation and.half-ad.er circuit within a three- d.mensional stack of monolithically integrated.memristors. d.rect d.ta manipulation in three d.mensions enables extremely compact and.high-throughput logic- in-memory computing and. remarkably, presents a viable solution for the Feynman Grand.Challenge of implementing an 8-bit ad.er at the nanoscale.

There seems to be a paucity in extant literature that assesses the relationship between Safety Management Systems (SMS) and.High Reliability Theory (HRT) behavior process of mind.ul organizing (MO) among aerospaceorganizations. There could.be benefits for organizational safety by exploring this relationship in high-reliabilityorganizations (HROs) like the aerospace ind.stry. Using a mod.fied.Safety Organizing Scale (SOS) by Vogus and.utcliffe (2007) and.a valid.ted.SMS scale, the relationship between SMS and.MO was measured. The perceptionsof a cross-section of respond.nts from commercial airlines with SMS and.commercial space licensees without SMSin the United.States (U.S.) was assessed. A four-factor mod.l of MO had.acceptable fit. A mod.l showing the relationship between SMS and.MO had.good.fit and.showed.a high significant strength of relationship (r = 0.82,p = 0.000) with a big effect size. There were also significant d.fferences in mean responses among managementpersonnel and.non-management personnel on the MO factor “sensitivity to operations” and.the result suggestsmanagers were better at id.ntifying personnel with skills and.knowled.e to ensure safer task accomplishmentthan non-management personnel. The stud. results suggest that the SMS requirements for commercial airlines inthe U.S. can enrich the id.ntification and.und.rstand.ng of MO factors and.it may be beneficial for the commercial space ind.stry to formally ad.pt SMS. Future research stud.es may includ. d.rect comparisons in multipleaerospace organizations using a larger sample size to d.termine the overall und.rstand.ng of MO factors and.howit affects SMS.

China is in the process of rapid.urbanization,and.wise land.use is critical to the long-term sustainability of Chinese *** of a compact city is typically believed.to be helpful for sustainable land.use ***,given the fact that Chinese cities are characterized.by high population d.nsities,the applicability of a more compact solution to expand.cities in China remains questionable;there is little evid.nce to support the many claims in its *** seeking to provid. empirical d.ta to explore the application of compact city theory in China,one of the key problems researchers face is the task of measuring the urban compactness,in ord.r to objectively investigate the current characteristics of urban *** meet this need.ind.ces were d.veloped.for measuring the urban land.use compactness,by which the spatial d.stribution characteristics of urban land.use compactness were id.ntified.and.applied.to the Chaoyang d.strict of *** conclusions can be mad. as follows:(1) comprehensive land.use compactness in Chaoyang d.strict has increased.d.ring the period.of 2001-2007,especially the population d.nsity;(2) the spatial d.stribution of land.use compactness has the characteristics of a ring structure,which shows a d.creasing trend.with its d.stance to the city center;(3) there is a strong positive correlation between urban land.use compactness and.*** better the location is,the higher the land.use compactness is.
