We developed a novel two-photon polymerization(2PP)configuration for fabrication of high-aspect three-dimensional(3D)structures,with an overall height larger than working distance of the microscope objective used for laser beam focusing into a photosensitive *** method is based on a modified optical 2PP setup,where a microscope objective(1003 high N.A.),immersion oil and cover glass can be moved together into the photosensitive material,resulting in an effective higher and wider objective working range(WOW-2PP).The proposed technique enables the fabrication of high-aspect structures with sub-micrometer process resolution.3D structures with a height of 7 mm are demonstrated,which could hardly be built with the conventional 2PP set-up due to refractive index mismatch and laser beam disturbances.

The goal is to help create smooth energy-optimal monophasic pulse waveforms for defibrillation using the Luo-Rudy cardiomyocyte membrane computer model. The waveforms were described with the help of the piecewise linear function. Each line segment provides a transition from one present level of the transmembrane potential to the next with a minimal energy value. The duration of the last segment was defined as a minimum duration at which an action potential occurs. Monophasic waveforms of segments 3, 10 and 29 were built using different increments of the transmembrane potential. The pulse energy efficiency was evaluated according to their threshold energy ratios in mA2·ms/cm4. There was virtually no difference between the threshold energy ratios of the three waveforms constructed and those of the previously studied energy-optimal half- sine waveform: 241 - 242 and 243 mA2·ms/cm4. The pulse waveform constructed is characterized by a low rise and fall as the duration of the rise is ~1.5 times longer than that of the fall. Conclusion: Energy-optimal smooth monophasic pulse waveforms have the same threshold energy ratio as the optimal half-sine one which was studied before. The latter is equivalent to the first phase of biphasic quasisinusoidal Gurvich-venin pulse which has been used in Russia since 1972. Thus, the use of the Luo-Rudy cardiomyocyte membrane model appears to offer no possibilities for a substantial increase in the energy efficiency (threshold energy ratio reduction) of the classical monophasic defibrillation pulse waveforms.

Nickel(Ⅱ)complexes with pyrazole-based ligands are widely employed in catalysis of ethylene oligomerization and subsequent Friedel-Crafts alkylation of *** have prepared ten new nickel(Ⅱ)dibromide complexes with various substituted bis(azolyl)*** have been characterized using^(1)H NMR,IR,high resolution mass spectrometry and elemental *** structures of three complexes have been unambiguously established using X-ray *** was found that these complexes in the presence of Et2AlCl or Et_(3)Al_(2)Cl_(3)are active both in ethylene oligomerization and Friedel-Crafts alkylation processes(activity up to 3720 kgoligomer·mol[Ni]^(−1)·h^(−1)).The use of Et_(3)Al_(2)Cl_(3)results in a higher share of alkylated products(up to 60%).Moreover,catalytic systems activated with Et_(3)Al_(2)Cl_(3)produced small amounts of odd carbon number olefins(up to 0.8%).The Friedel-Crafts alkylation was used as a trap for previously undetected short-chain odd carbon number olefins(C_(3)and C_(5)).

The conditional mutations in D. melanogaster are produced by gamma-irradiation, maintained in laboratory cultures, and inherited as gene mutations. However, their manifestation differs from the conventional mutations by several specific features. The most noticeable specific feature is their conditional nature, i.e., a conditional mutation manifests itself in the individuals of a certain genotype being silent in the individuals with another genotype. A particular procedure for mutation recovery determines what these genotypes will be. An overwhelming number of mutations are conditional dominant lethals. The viable mutation carriers display a drastically decreased fertility. Early zygotic lethality is inherited according to parental type (maternal or paternal). The carriers of conditional mutations give the offspring with a high rate of monstrosities. The possibility for the offspring to form monstrosities is inherited according to a parental (maternal or paternal) type. The level of fertility of conditional mutants is altered by chromosomal rearrangements. The chromosomal rearrangements themselves cause a decrease in fertility. Lethality of the progenies produced by the parents carrying rearrangements is inherited according to a parental (maternal or paternal) type. The results allow for a set of logical arguments in favor of that 1) the genome has a specialized system of genes (ontogenes) that control the course of individual development;2) unlike a classical gene, acting according to the scheme DNA à RNA à protein, the ontogene implements the regulation according to the scheme DNA à RNA;and 3) the course of individual development is programmed by double-strand RNAs produced by ontogenes in germline cells.

Over the past two decades, a significant number of discoveries of ancient zircon xenocrysts in ocean-floor magmatic rocks have been reported. These findings provide compelling evidence for the presence of ancient continental crust within young oceanic lithosphere. Almost all finds of ancient zircon xenocrysts within oceanic crust are from the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. For other localities, however, similar data are very limited. This report presents the first age determinations(U-Pb, SHRIMPII) and isotope-geochemical data(oxygen, trace and rare earth elements) for zircon xenocrysts from gabbro-diorites of the Shaka Ridge, in the vicinity of the Shaka fracture zone, near the western end of the Southwest Indian Ridge. The work is based on a study of bottom rock material dredged during expeditionary research on the R/v"Akademik Fedorov"(Russia) in 2016. The U-Pb isotope system of the zircon xenocrysts recorded a crystallization age of ~2.8 Ga at an upper discordia intercept and an age of ~600 Ma interpreted as the timing of a superimposed thermal event at a lower discordia *** zircon xenocrysts show geochemical signatures of magmatic origin, i.e., fractionated REE distribution spectra with an increase in chondrite-normalized values from light to heavy REE, positive Ce anomalies and negative Eu anomalies, and high Th/U ratios(0.59-7.77). In discrimination diagrams based on a series of inter-element relationships, zircon compositions fall into the fields of zircons from rocks of continental crust, mostly granitoids. The Li content of the zircons is high(1.8 ppm-50 ppm),adding further evidence to their derivation from rocks of continental crust. During their residence within young oceanic crust, the zircon xenocrysts experienced alterations under the influence of submarine high-temperature hydrothermal fluids, which selectively affected the distribution of trace elements in the zircons and reduced the δ;O values to 1.75‰-3.15‰. Differences in the barley varieties have been revealed from tolerance to iron (Fe) and aluminum (Al) ions as well as to their combined effect. Received results allowed to separate barley variety into some (three) groups: the first—Al-tolerant varieties, the second—Al-sensitive ones and third—moderately resistant variety. The increased concentration of Fe had practically no effect on biometric (seed germination energy) and cytogenetics (frequency of chromosome aberrations and mitotic index) parameters as compared to the reference values. At the same time, iron ion significantly reduces the phytotoxic effect for Al-tolerant varieties in case of these elements jointly presented in solution.
