In this study,we aimed to investigate the allelopathic effects of sunflower and wheat root exudates on the common weeds such as wild mustard and white mustard in our *** root exudates which were obtained by soaking 8 weeks old sunflower and wheat seedlings(20 or 40 seedlings)in 100 mL of distilled water for 3 days were applied to the leaves of wild mustard and white *** order to compare the allelopathic effect,the recommended dose(1 ***^(-1))and twice the recommended dose(2 ***^(-1))of Gromstor(Tribenuron-methyl),a herbicide preferred by farmers for the chemical control of these weeds was also *** allelopathy was performed for wild mustard and white mustard seedlings by the measurement of different physiological and biochemical parameters,such as chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b,total chlorophyll,carotenoid,proline,total protein amounts and superoxide dismutase enzyme *** amounts of total chl and carotenoid in wild mustard leaves decreased in all treatment groups compared to *** highest decrease in total chl(50.93%)and carotenoid(46.69%)was oberved in the treatment of 40 wheat seedlings.100 mL^(-1) distilled *** the white mustard leaves,the amount of total chl in all treatment groups except the treatment group of Gromstor 2 ***^(-1) and carotenoid in all treatment groups increased compared to the *** highest increases again were observed in 40 wheat seedlings.100 mL^(-1) distilled water *** proline amounts in wild mustard and white mustard increased in all treatment *** highest increase was observed for the treatment of 20 wheat seedlings.100 mL^(-1) distilled water in wild mustard(459.69%)and 40 sunflower seedlings.100 mL^(-1) distilled water in white mustard plant(104.70%).In superoxide dismutase enzyme activities,treatments decreased activity except treatment of 40 sunflower seedling root exudate in wild mustard,while increased activity outside commercial herbicide treatment in white *** r

Despite small workspace, parallel manipulators have some advantages over their serial counterparts in terms of higher speed, acceleration, rigidity, accuracy, manufacturing cost and payload. Accordingly, this type of manipulators can be used in many applications such as in high-speed machine tools, tuning machine for feeding, sensitive cutting, assembly and packaging. This paper presents a special type of planar parallel manipulator with three degrees of freedom. It is constructed as a variable geometry truss generally known planar Stewart platform. The reachable and orientation workspaces are obtained for this manipulator. The inverse kinematic analysis is solved for the trajectory tracking according to the redundancy and joint limit avoidance. Then, the dynamics model of the manipulator is established by using Virtual Work method. The simulations are performed to follow the given planar trajectories by using the dynamic equations of the variable geometry truss manipulator and computed force control method. In computed force control method, the feedback gain matrices for PD control are tuned with fixed matrices by trail end error and variable ones by means of optimization with genetic algorithm.

A novel electrochemical sensor based on(3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane(APTES) functionalized Si02supported Au nanoparticles and Nafion(Nf) as the protective membrane was fabricated for the electrochemical determination of H2O2in contact lens-cleaning *** modification steps of glassy carbon working electrode(GCE) were evaluated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) and cyclic voltammetry(CV).The amperometric results showed that Nf/Au@Si02-APTES/GCE sensor can be used to determine H2O2in contact lens solutions with the linear ranges of 14-180 μM and 0.18-7.15 mM,excellent sensitivities of 2514.6 and894.2 μA mM cm-2,and a low limit of detection(LOD) of 4.25 μM depending upon signal-to-noise ratio of ***/Au@Si02-APTES/GCE exhibited excellent repeatability with relative standard deviation(RDS) of 2.66% and acceptable reproducibility with RSD of 3.35%.The sensor displayed reasonable selectivity in the presence of uric acid,dopamine,ascorbic acid,glucose,mannose,glycine,fructose,histidine,and arginine with RSD less than2.5%.The fabricated Nf/Au@Si02-APTES/GCE sensor has been successfully applied to detect H2O2in contact lens cleaning solutions.

Recently, Shiet al. [2008 Phys. Left. A 372 5922] have studied the dynamical response of the kinetic Ising model in the presence of a sinusoidal oscillating field and presented the dynamic phase diagrams by using an effective-field theory （EFT） and a mean-field theory （MFT）. The MFT results are in conflict with those of the earlier work of Tome and de Oliveira, [1990 Phys. Rev. A 41 4251]. We calculate the dynamic phase diagrams and find that our results are similar to those of the earlier work of Tome and de Oliveira; hence the dynamic phase diagrams calculated by Shiet al. are incomplete within both theories, except the low values of frequencies for the MFT calculation. We also investigate the influence of external field frequency （w） and static external field amplitude （h0） for both MFT and EFT calculations. We find that the behaviour of the system strongly depends on the values of w and h0.

The phase diagrams in the mixed spin-3/2 and spin-2 Ising system with two alternative layers on a honeycomb lattice are investigated and discussed by the use of the effective-field theory with correlations. The interaction of the nearest-neighbour spins of each layer is taken to be positive （ferromagnetic interaction） and the interaction of the adjacent spins of the nearest-neighbour layers is considered to be either positive or negative （ferromagnetic or antiferromagnetic interaction）. The temperature dependence of the layer magnetizations of the system is examined to characterize the nature （continuous or discontinuous） of the phase transitions and obtain the phase transition temperatures. The system exhibits both second- and first-order phase transitions besides triple point （TP）, critical end point （E）, multicritical point （A）, isolated critical point （C） and reentrant behaviour depending on the interaction parameters. We have also studied the temperature dependence of the total magnetization to find the compensation points, as well as to determine the type of behaviour, and N-type behaviour in Neel classification nomenclature existing in the system. The phase diagrams are constructed in eight different planes and it is found that the system also presents the compensation phenomena depending on the sign of the bilinear exchange interactions.

Although the exact mechanism and most involved region of the vestibular system have not yet been fully clarified, vestibular dysfunction has been demonstrated in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM). Vestibular evoked myogenic potential (VEMP) is a short latency electromyographic response to sound or vibration stimuli that may reflect otolith organ or related reflex functions. Since its first description in 1992, VEMP has become a significant part of the vestibular test battery as an objective measurement tool. In diabetic patients, VEMP responses have been studied in order to determine any otolith organ or related reflex dysfunctions. Here, we review the literature with regard to VEMP findings representing any peripheral vestibular end-organ dysfunction in patients with DM. Distinctive vestibular end-organ impairments seem to be demonstrated in patients with DM either with or without DNP via objective vestibular testing tools including VEMP recordings according to relevant studies. However, further studies with larger sample sizes are required to reveal the more definitive findings of VEMP recordings regarding the vestibular pathologies in patients with DM.

Spiral transitions

Spiral curves are free from singularities and curvature extrema. These are used in path smoothing applications to overcome the abrupt change in curvature and super-elevation of moving object that occurs between tangent and circular curve. Line to circle spiral transition is made of straight line segment and curvature continuous spiral curve. It is extendible to other important types of transitions like line to line and circle to circle. Although the problem of line to circle transition has been addressed by many researchers, there is no comprehensive literature review available. This paper presents state-of-the-art of line to circle spiral transition,applications in different fields, limitations of existing approaches, and recommendations to meet the challenges of compatibility with today’s CAD/CAM soft wares, satisfaction of Hermite end conditions, approximation of discrete data for image processing, 3 D path smoothness for an unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV), and arc-length parametrization. Whole discussion is concluded with future research directions in various areas of applications.
