Microstructure and Properties of wb_(2)/Cr Multilayer Films with Different bilayer Numbers Deposited by Magnetron sputtering

The influence of the bilayer number on the microstructure,mechanical properties,adhesion strength and tribological behaviors of the wb_(2)/Cr multilayer films was systematically investigated in the present *** groups of wb_(2)/Cr films with the same modulation ratio were synthesized by magnetron sputtering *** crystalline structure of the films was determined by X-ray *** morphologies and the microstructure of the films were observed by scanning electron microscopy,atomic force microscopy and transmission electron ***,Nano indenter,scratch tester and ball-on-disc tribometer were used to evaluate the mechanical and tribological *** bilayer numbers varied from 5 to 40,the hardness increased first and then decreased with the maximum hardness of 33.9 GPa when the bilayer number is *** h/E^(*)and h^(3)/E^(*2)values calculated to evaluate the fracture toughness showed the similar changing trend with *** adhesion strength reached the maximum of 67 N when the bilayer number is *** surface roughness and friction coefficient decreased with increasing bilayer *** wear mechanism was also investigated,and the results suggested that the multilayer film with bilayer number of 30 exhibited the best wear resistance(1.78×10^(–7)mm^(3)/Nm),benefiting from the contribution of high hardness,fracture toughness and adhesion strength.

INFLUENCEs OF NEODYMIUM ON MAGNETIC ChARACTERIsTICs OF ELECTROPLATING CoNdNiMnP FILMs

In order to improve the performances of electroplating permanent magnetic films, neodymium is introduced into the electroplating CoNiMnP permanent magnetic films. The influences of the neodymium content are also investigated by varying NdCl3 plating bath concentration. The neodymium-doped films are analyzed by energy dispersive spectrum (EDs), vibrating sample magnetometer (VsM) and magnetic force microscope (MFM). The experimental results show that high magnetic performances of CoNdNiMnP permanent magnetic films with vertical anisotropy could be fabricated with current density 5mA/cm2 at room temperature. with the increasing of neodymium contents, the magnetic properties of films were improved. however when neodymium contents exceeded 3.5wt%, the magnetic properties of films are not improved any more. The increase of film magnetic properties results from the ferromagnetic-coupling between light rare earth element-neodymium and transition metal element-cobalt.

This research was aimed to study the effect winding orientation on the crashworthiness performance of hybrid *** specimens tested under quasi-static compression load involve of three winding parameters(q?30,45and 70)of hybrid kenaf/glass fiber reinforced epoxy and glass fiber reinforced epoxy as contrast *** automated filament winding technique has been used in fabrication of hybrid and non-hybrid composite tube and crashworthiness performance was investigated *** effects of winding orientation on energy absorption capabilities and crashworthiness characteristic were investigated through quasi-static compression load and the result are compared with the glass fiber composite tube to justify the capability of hybrid natural/synthetic as energy absorption *** samples proved to enhancing the progressive crushing capability as combination of local buckling,delaminate and brittle fracturing as progressive crushing *** the view of winding orientation aspect,the results of high winding orientation of hybrid composite tube elevated the crush load efficiency,specific energy absorption and energy absorption capability compared to glass composite tube(GFRP).The hybrid kenaf/glass composite tube with high winding orientation showed the best winding orientation to enhance the energy absorber characteristics as energy absorption application.

It is a promising and new technology to apply welding with trailing peening to control welding stress and distortion of titanium *** simulation of conventional welding and welding with trailing peening of the titanium alloy sheet is carried out,using nonlinear finite element theory and the engineering analysis software *** result shows that welding with trailing peening technology reduces longitudinal residual stress in welding joint effectively,and it is more effective to reduce residual stress to peen the weld than to peen the weld *** is a effective result that other technology and method used in welding can never achieved.

Utilization of over matured fruit waste of spine gourd(Momordica dioca Roxb.)as a source of anthelmintic bioactive constituents

To study the difference in the accumulation of bioactive constituents in spine gourd(Momordica dioica Roxb.),the changes in its phenolic compounds at mature green(fruit utilized)and ripe red(fruit wasted)stages were analysed,and it was correlated with their antioxidant and anthelmintic *** highest total phenolic content was observed in ripe peel ethyl acetate(RPEA),tannins in ripe seed hexane(Rsh)and flavonoid in ripe peel ethanol(RPE)***–Ms analysis identified 15 phenolic compounds in the *** highest antioxidant potential was shown by Rsh in DPPh(IC_(50)1.47 mg/ml),RPEA in AbTs(IC_(50)2.40 mg/ml),and mature peel water(MPew)extract in FRAP assays(0.58μg trolox equivalent per g dw).RPE induced the highest anthelmintic activity against Caenorhabditis elegans in egg hatch assay(LC_(50)-0.02 mg/ml),and adult worm mortality assay(LC_(50)-1.44 mg/ml),as well as 100%death of infective juveniles in heterorhabditis indica(50 mg/ml).Correlation studies and Principal Component Analysis(PCA)indicated the relationship of catechins,quercetin,kaempferol,rutin,and gallic acid to anthelmintic *** study showed that the ripe stage of spine gourd,which gets disposed of as postharvest waste,had better anthelmintic activity,and it can be utilized for the development of food formulations with anthelmintic potential.

Effect on Landau damping rates for a non-Maxwellian distribution function consisting of two electron populations

In many physical situations where a laser or electron beam passes through a dense plasma,hot low-density electron populations can be generated,resulting in a particle distribution function consisting of a dense cold population and a small hot *** of such low-density electron distributions can alter the wave damping rate.A kinetic model is employed to study the Landau damping of Langmuir waves when a small hot electron population is present in the dense cold electron population with non-Maxwellian distribution *** of plasma from Maxwellian distributions significantly alters the damping rates as compared to the Maxwellian *** damping is found for highly nonMaxwellian distributions as well as plasmas with a higher density and hot electron *** of weak damping is also established when the distribution contains broadened flat tops at the low energies or tends to be *** results may be applied in both experimental and space physics regimes.

A family of double-beauty tetraquarks:Axial-vector state T^-bb;us^-

The spectroscopic parameters and decay channels of the axial-vector tetraquark Tho(in what follows,TAV)are explored using the quantum chromodynamics(QCD)sum rule *** mass and coupling of this state are calculated using two-point sum rules by taking into account various vacuum condensates,up to 10 *** prediction for the mass of this state m=(10215±250)MeV confirms that it is stable with respect to strong and electromagnetic decays and can dissociate to conventional mesons only via weak *** investigate the dominant semileptonic■and nonleptonic T AV b:s^-→v10 b:s^-M decays of T AV b:s^-.In these processes,Z-b:s^-is a scalar tetraquark[be][us^-]built of a colo-triplet diquark and an antidiquark,whereas M is one of the vector mesonsρ^-,K^*(892),D^*(2010)^-,and D^*s-.To caleulate the partial w idths of these decays,we use the QCD three-point sum rule approach and evaluate the weak transition form factors Gi(i=0,1,2,3),which govem these *** full widthΓfull=(12.9±2.1)×10^-8 MeV and the mean lifetimeτ=5.1+0.99-0.71 fs of the tetraquark TAV are computed us-ing the aforementioned weak *** obtained information about the parametersof TAY and Zh,is useful for experimental investigations of these double-heavy exotic mesons.

Evaluation of sIFOM-FVCOM system for high-fidelity simulation of small-scale coastal ocean flows

This paper evaluates the sIFOM-FVCOM system recently developed by the authors to simulate multiphysics coastal ocean flow phenomena, especially those at small scales. First, its formulation for buoyancy is examined with regard to solution accu- racy and computational efficiency. Then, the system is used to track particles in circulations in the Jamaica bay, demonstrating that large-scale patterns of trajectories of fluid particles are sensitive to small-scales flows from which they are released. Finally, a simulation is presented to illustrate the sIFOM-FVCOM system＇s capability, which is beyond the reach of other existing models, to directly and simultaneously model large-scale storm surges as well as small-scale flow structures around bridge piers within the hudson River during the hurricane sandy.

Grain growth in AZ31 alloy after uniaxial compression

The grain growth morphology,kinetics and texture change after uniaxial compression at 430 ℃ of an extruded AZ31 alloy were *** samples were loaded following two routes insuring two initial textures of the samples with compression direction parallel and normal to the extrusion *** both initial textures,a stable grain size is attained upon isothermal annealing and the grain growth kinetics can be described by:dn= dRn+kt with an n value of around *** annealing texture with grown grains is a retained hot deformation texture without emerging or strengthening other *** grain growth is not observed for annealing time up to 10 000 h at 450℃.
