Evaluation and projection of marine heatwaves in the South China Sea: insights from CMIP6 multi-model ensemb.e

This study evaluates the performance of 16 models sourced from the coupled model intercomparison project phase 6(CMIP6)in simulating marine heatwaves(MHWs)in the South China Sea(SCS)during the historical period(1982−2014),and also investigates future changes in SCS MHWs b.sed on simulations from three shared socioeconomic pathway(SSP)scenarios(SSP126,SSP245,and SSP585)using CMIP6 *** demonstrate that the CMIP6 models perform well in simulating the spatial-temporal distrib.tion and intensity of SCS MHWs,with their multi-model ensemb.e(MME)results showing the b.st *** reasonab.e agreement b.tween the ob.ervations and CMIP6 MME reveals that the increasing trends of SCS MHWs are attrib.ted to the warming sea surface temperature *** various SSP scenarios,the year 2040 emerges as pivotal juncture for future shifts in SCS MHWs,marked b. distinct variations in changing rate and *** is characterized b. an accelerated decrease in MHWs frequency and a notab.y heightened increase in mean intensity,duration,and total days after ***,the projection results for SCS MHWs suggest that the spatial pattern of MHWs remains consistent across future ***,the intensity shows higher consistency only during the near-term period(2021−2050),while notab.e inconsistencies are ob.erved during the medium-term(2041−2070)and long-term(2071−2100)periods under the three SSP *** the nearterm period,the SCS MHWs are characterized b. moderate and strong events with high frequencies and relatively shorter *** contrast,during the medium-term period,MHWs are also characterized b. moderate and strong events,b.t with longer-lasting and more intense events under the SSP245 and SSP585 ***,in the long-term period,extreme MHWs b.come the dominant feature under the SSP585 scenario,indicating a sub.tantial intensification of SCS MHWs,effectively estab.ishing a near-permanent state.

b.ckground This work aimed to investigate the potential b.nefits of administering Prevotella and its primary metab.lite succinate on performance,hepatic lipid accumulation and gut microb.ota in laying *** One hundred and fifty 58-week-old Hyline b.own laying hens,with laying rate b.low 80%and plasma triglyceride(TG)exceeding 5 mmol/L,were used in this *** hens were randomly allocated into 5 groups and sub.ected to one of the following treatments:fed with a b.sal diet(negative control,NC),oral gavage of 3 mL/hen saline every other day(positive control,PC),gavage of 3 mL/hen Prevotella melaninogenica(10^(7)CFU/mL,PM)or 3 mL/hen Prevotella copri(10^(7)CFU/mL,***)every other day,and b.sal diet supplemented with 0.25%sodium succinate(Succinate).The results showed that PM and *** treatments significantly improved laying rate compared to the PC(Pb.y decreased b. b.omass‐derived carb.n is a promising electrode material in energy storage ***,how to improve its low capacity and stab.lity,and slow diffusion kinetics during lithium storage remains a *** this research,we propose a“self‐assemb.y‐template”method to prepare b.N codoped porous carb.n(b.‐C)with a nanosandwich structure and ab.ndant pyridinic N‐b.*** nanosandwich structure can increase powder density and cycle stab.lity b. constructing a stab.e solid electrolyte interphase film,shortening the Li^(+)diffusion pathway,and accommodating volume expansion during repeated charging/*** ab.ndant pyridinic N‐b.species can simultaneously promote the adsorption/desorption of Li^(+)/PF_(6)^(−)and reduce the diffusion *** b.‐C electrode showed a high lithium‐ion storage capacity of ab.ve 1140 mAh g^(−1)at 0.05 A g^(−1)and superior stab.lity(96.5%retained after 2000 cycles).Moreover,owing to the synergistic effect of the nanosandwich structure and pyridinic N‐b.species,the assemb.ed symmetrical b.‐C//b.‐C full cell shows a high energy density of 234.7Wh kg^(−1),high power density of 39.38 kW kg−1,and excellent cycling stab.lity,superior to most of the other cells reported in the *** the density functional theory simulation demonstrated,pyridinic N‐b.shows enhanced adsorption activity for Li^(+)and PF_(6)^(−),which promotes an increase in the capacity of the anode and cathode,***,the relatively lower diffusion b.rrier of pyridinic N‐b.promotes Li^(+)migration,resulting in good rate ***,this study provides a new approach for the synergistic modulation of a nanostructure and an active site simultaneously to fab.icate the carb.n electrode material in energy storage devices.

Tetradentate Pt(Ⅱ)complex as a singlet exciton sensitizing host for highly efficient green fluorescent organic light-emitting diodes

Efficient green fluorescent organic light-emitting diodes were designed with a phosphorescent metal complex as a singlet exciton sensitizing host(SESH)for achieving high efficiency and low efficiency roll-off through exciton and polaron *** Pt(Ⅱ)complex(Pt-Trz)possessing a tetradentate ligand with a b.lky b.ocking group not only suppresses the severe formation of excimer or dimer itself b.t also transfers radiative excitons to fluorescent dopant *** SESH assisted fluorescence(SESHF)device with Pt-Trz as the host exhib.ts the maximum external quantum efficiency of 13.3%and a lower efficiency roll-off compared with exciplex host device which is a general approach for harvesting triplet *** exciton dynamics modeling unravels that the SESHF device effectively utilizes triplet excitons in the host b. intersystem crossing and resonance energy transfer from the triplet state of the host to the singlet state of the terminal *** quenching rates of the SESHF device are reduced b. 11 times for triplet-triplet annihilation and 1.8 times for tripletpolaron annihilation compared with the exciplex device,which demonstrates that Pt-Trz could b. a platform to b. used as an efficient host for fluorophores.

Single-atom(SA)catalysts with nearly 100%atom utilization have b.en widely employed in electrolysis for decades,due to the outperforming catalytic activity and ***,most of the reported SA catalysts are fixed through the strong b.nding b.tween the dispersed single metallic atoms with nonmetallic atoms of the sub.trates,which greatly limits the controllab.e regulation of electrocatalytic activity of SA *** this work,Pt-Ni b.nded Pt SA catalyst with adjustab.e electronic states was successfully constructed through a controllab.e electrochemical reduction on the coordination unsaturated amorphous Ni(OH)_(2)nanosheet *** on the X-ray ab.orption fine structure analysis and first-principles calculations,Pt SA was b.nded with Ni sites of amorphous Ni(OH)_(2),rather than conventional O sites,resulting in negatively charged Pt^(δ-).In situ Raman spectroscopy revealed that the changed configuration and electronic states greatly enhanced ab.orb.b.lity for activated hydrogen atoms,which were the essential intermediate for alkaline hydrogen evolution *** hydrogen spillover process was revealed from amorphous Ni(OH)_(2)that effectively cleave the H-O-H b.nd of H_(2)O and produce H atom to the Pt SA sites,leading to a low overpotential of 48 mV in alkaline electrolyte at-1000 mA cm^(-2)mg^(-1)_(Pt),evidently b.tter than commercial Pt/C *** work provided new strategy for the control-lab.e modulation of the local structure of SA catalysts and the systematic regulation of the electronic states.

Spatially selective p-type doping for constructing lateral WS_(2) p-n homojunction via low-energy nitrogen ion implantation

The construction of lateral p-n junctions is very important and challenging in two-dimensional(2D)semiconductor manufacturing *** researches have demonstrated that vertical p-n junction can b. prepared simply b. vertical stacking of 2D ***,interface pollution and large area scalab.lity are challenges that are difficult to overcome with vertical stacking *** 2D lateral p-n homojunction is an effective strategy to address these *** selective p-type doping of 2D semiconductors is expected to construct lateral p-n *** this work,we have developed a low-energy ion implantation system that reduces the implanted energy to 300 ***-energy implantation can form a shallow implantation depth,which is more suitab.e for modulating the electrical and optical properties of 2D ***,we utilize low-energy ion implantation to directly dope nitrogen ions into few-layer WS_(2) and successfully realize a precise regulation for WS_(2) with its conductivity type transforming from n-type to b.polar or even p-type ***,the universality of this method is demonstrated b. extending it to other 2D semiconductors,including WSe_(2),SnS_(2) and MoS_(2).b.sed on this method,a lateral WS_(2) p-n homojunction is fab.icated,which exhib.ts significant rectification characteristics.A photodetector b.sed on p-n junction with photovoltaic effect is also prepared,and the open circuit voltage can reach to 0.39 *** work provides an effective way for controllab.e doping of 2D semiconductors.
