Transcriptome-b.sed.Examination of Putative Pollen Allergens of Rice （Oryza sativa ssp. japonica）

Pollen allergens are among the most ab.nd.ntly transcrib.d.and.translated.prod.cts in the life history of plants, and.particularly grasses. To id.ntify d.fferent pollen allergens in rice, putative allergens were id.ntified.in the rice genome and.their expression characterized.using the Affymetrix 57K rice GeneChip microarray. Among the most ab.nd.nt pollen-specific cand.d.te transcripts were Ory s 1 b.ta-expansin, Ory s 2, Ory s 7 EF hand. Q ry s 11, Ory s 12 profilin A, Ory s 23, glycosyl hyd.olase family 28 （polygalacturonase）, and.FAd.b.nd.ng proteins. Highly expressed.pollen proteins are frequently present in multiple copy numb.rs, sometimes with mirror images located.on nearb. regions of the opposite d.A strand. Many of these are intronless and.inserted.as copies that retain nearly exact copies of their regulatory elements. Ory s 23 reflects low variab.lity and.high copy numb.r, suggesting recent gene amplification. Some copies contain pseud.genes, which may reflect their origin through activity of retrotransposition; some putative allergenic sequences b.ar fusion prod.cts with repeat sequences of transposab.e elements （LTRs）. The ab.nd.nce of nearb. repetitive sequences, activation of transposab.e elements, and.high prod.ction of mRNA transcripts appear to coincid. in pollen and.may contrib.te to a synd.ome in which highly transcrib.d.proteins may b. copied.and.inserted.with streamlined.features for translation, includ.ng grouping and.removal of introns.

This stud. is a contrib.tion to improving rice prod.ctivity on acid.c plateau soils of the tropical rainforest zone. It is b.sed.on taking into account the cationic b.lances of the soil in ord.r to optimize the phosphorus (P) nutrition of rice on these acid.c soils, where this nutrient constitutes a limiting factor for agricultural prod.ction. Three (3) pot trials were cond.cted.in Ad.opod.umé in the forested.south of Côte d.Ivoire. The interactive effects of calcium carb.nate (0, 25, 50 and.75 kg Ca ha−1) and.magnesium sulfate (0, 25, 50 and.75 kg Mg ha−1) were evaluated.on the response of NERICA 5 rice at d.ses 0, 25, 50 and.75 kg P ha−1 of natural phosphate from Togo, applied.only once at the start of the experiment. Ad.itional fertilizers of nitrogen (N) (100 kg N ha−1) and.potassium (K) (50 kg KCl ha−1) were ad.ed.to each of the tests in a split-plot d.vice. The test results revealed.a pad.y prod.ction potential of approximately 3 to 5 t⋅ha−1 for NERICA 5 on an acid.c soil, und.r the effect of the interaction of P, Ca and.Mg. The quad.atic response of rice yield.to the d.ses of these fertilizers would.b. more d.pend.nt on their b.lance, itself influenced.b. Ca nutrition. For the sustainab.lity and.maintenance of rice prod.ction in agro-ecology stud.ed. it was recommend.d.d.ses of 38 kg Ca ha−1, 34 kg Mg ha−1 in a Ca/Mg ratio (1/1) with intakes of 41 kg P ha−1, overall in a ratio 1/1/1 (P/Ca/Mg) more favorab.e to the availab.lity of free iron consid.red.a guid.ng element of mineral nutrition. Thus, these promising results should.b. confirmed.in a real environment for b.tter management of the fertilization of rice cultivated.on acid.c plateau soils in Côte d.Ivoire.

b.nzothiazole (b.H) and.its d.rivatives are organic molecules with b.ologic actions. b.cause of their many applications, they are prod.ced.on a massive scale and.used.in a numb.r of environmental compartments. Their d.scharge into water prod.ces environmental prob.ems, exposing our environment to pub.ic health prob.ems. A solution that can contrib.te to their d.terioration is b.coming a necessity. For this reason, a conceptual analysis of the reactivity of b.nzothiazole and.four of its compound. was und.rtaken in ord.r to investigate certain aspects of their b.od.grad.b.lity. A theoretical investigations of the compound. stud.ed.were cond.cted.in the gas and.water phases with the most wid.ly used.d.nsity functional theory method. b.cke-3-Parameter-Lee-Yang-Parr (b.LYP) with 6-31G+ (d. p) b.sis. Reactivity stud. calculated.glob.l ind.ces of reactivity revealed.that 2-SCH3_b.H is the most reactive. d.pole moment values analysis reveals that 2-NH2_b.H is the most solub.e in water, while the lipophilicity shows that 2-NH2_b.H is the most hyd.ophilic compound. Thermod.namic parameters values reflect that reactions are respectively exothermic and.spontaneous. b. analyzing an Electrostatic Molecular Potential (EMP) map, researchers can pinpoint reactive sites on a molecule and.anticipate its reactivity. This assessment is further enhanced.b. incorporating glob.l and.local reactivity d.scriptors. Ad.itionally, an exploration of frontier molecular orb.tals offers valuab.e insights into the molecule’s charge transfer characteristics. Moreover, a comb.ned.examination of internal and.external molecular interactions unveils hyperconjugative interactions arising from charge d.localization, as elucid.ted.through natural b.nd.orb.tal (Nb.) analysis.

Platforms I and.II are steel structures located.in offshore areas southeast of the Zhujiang (Pearl) River d.lta, the northern South China Sea,. in ab.ut 110 in water d.pth. The jackets, with aluminum sacrificial anod.s for cathod.c protection (CP) of the immersed.zone, were launched.in March 1995. In May 096 a CP survey showed.that, after almost one year of service, a low polarization level had.b.en achieved.and.some extend.d.unprotected.zones existed. mainly in the d.epest part of the Platform II. Further to this, a joint activity was d.cid.d.in ord.r to assess the need.of a possib.e retrofitting of the CP systems. The results of the activity carried.out are d.alt with, includ.ng technical and.economical comparisons amongst several retrofitting options, b.th with sacrificial anod.s and.with impressed.current systems. The ad.pted.solution is illustrated.and.d.ta are reported.on the level of protection presently achieved.

Utility of semivariogram for spatial variation of soil nutrients and.the rob.st analysis of semivariogram

The spatial variation of soil nutrients in topsoil (0-20cm) was analyzed.using semivariogram in the Zunhua County of Heb.i Province, China. The effect on semivariogram with rand.mly d.leted.d.ta and.kriged.estimates using various red.ced.sample sizes was also analyzed. The semivariograms of availab.e N, total N, availab.e P, organic matter were b.st d.scrib.d.b. a spherical mod.l, except for availab.e K, which b.st fitted.a complex structure of exponential mod.l and.linear with sill mod.l. The ratio of nugget to total sample variance ranged.from 34.4% to 68.4%, ind.cating the spatial correlation of tested.soil nutrients on a large scale was mod.rately d.pend.nt. Among five soil nutrients, availab.e nitrogen and.availab.e phosphorus had.the shortest spatial correlation range (5 km and.5.5 km), availab.e K had.the longest range (25.5 km), whereas total nitrogen and.organic matter had.intermed.ate spatial correlation range (14.5 km and.8.5 km). The semivariograms of availab.e N, total N, availab.e P, and.organic matter were insensitive to a 50%-60% red.ction in original sampling d.nsity, while for availab.e K, it is up to 70%. The estimated.spatial d.strib.tions of total N b. kriging, und.r various red.ced.sample sizes, all correlated.significantly (P = 0.001) with those ob.ained.from original d.ta. The results showed.that the semivariogram was a relatively rob.st tool when used.in a large region and.sufficient spatial variation information could.b. relained.regard.ess of a higher d.letion proportion of the original d.ta. The original sample d.ta could.b. red.ced.b. kriging and.the estimates showed.no loss of spatial information, however, the results may b. unreliab.e unless a clearly id.ntified.semivariogram mod.l could.b. ob.ained. The results may provid. useful information for d.termining the appropriate sampling d.nsities for these scales of soil survey.
