In this work,we describe a new strategy for the electrochemical determination of captopril（CA） using ferrocenemonocarboxylic acid as a mediator and multiwall carbon nanotubes as sensors in aqueous solution at pH *** diffusion coefficient（D）,and the kinetic parameters such as electron transfer coefficient（α）.and heterogeneous rate constant（kh）,for CA were also determined using electrochemical *** the optimized conditions,the electrocatalytic oxidation peak current of captopril showed two linear dynamic ranges with a detection limit of 0.3×10^-6 mol L^-1 *** linear calibration range was 0.8×10^（-6） to 65×10^-6 mol L^-1 using cyclic ***,this modified electrode was also examined as a selective,simple and precise new electrochemical sensor for the determination of captopril in real samples such as drug and patient human urine.

The reclamation and disinfection of waters impacted by human activities（e.g., wastewater effluent discharges） are of growing interest for various applications but has been associated with the formation of toxic nitrogenous disinfection byproducts（N-DBPs）. Monochloramine used as an alternative disinfectant to chlorine can be an additional source of nitrogen in the formation of N-DBPs. Individual toxicity assays have been performed on many DBPs, but few studies have been conducted with complex mixtures such as wastewater effluents. In this work, we compared the cytotoxicity and genotoxicity of wastewater effluent organic matter（Ef OM） before and after chloramination. The toxicity of chloraminated Ef OM was significantly higher than the toxicity of raw Ef OM, and the more hydrophobic fraction（HPO）isolated on XAD-8 resin was more toxic than the fraction isolated on XAD-4 *** DBPs were also isolated on the XAD-8 resin. N-DBPs（i.e., haloacetonitriles or haloacetamides） were responsible for the majority of the cytotoxicity estimated from DBP concentrations measured in the XAD-8 and XAD-4 fractions（99.4% and 78.5%, respectively）.Measured DBPs accounted for minor proportions of total brominated and chlorinated products, which means that many unknown halogenated compounds were formed and can be responsible for a significant part of the toxicity. Other non-halogenated byproducts（e.g.,nitrosamines） may contribute to the toxicity of chloraminated effluents as well.

The aim of our study was to determine the criteria and key factors for the effectiveness of digoxin therapy. A prospective opened-type study was carried out in conditions of everyday clinical practice. The concentrations of digoxin were quantified from blood samples taken following the achievement of drug steady-state （using AxSYM microparticle enzyme immunoassay-MEIA）. The risk/benefit ratio was evaluated based upon the correlation between measured blood concentrations of the drug and clinical response. Study results （100 decompensated patients） revealed that therapy indication field was correctly covered, showing a higher prevalence in elderly. On average, each examinee had 2 or 3 comorbidities. Applied daily dose of digoxin ranged from 0.053 mg to 0.25 mg. Renal function was assessed by creatinine clearance which is one of the key factors for the accomplishment of optimal digoxin serum concentrations （p 〈 0.05）. Co-administration of seven drugs was complicating factor for the management of rational therapy. 76/100 patients were within referent range （0.8-2.0 ng/mL）, while 13/100 were above the upper limit. Four side effects in total were recorded （nausea, vomiting, confusion）, whereas in only two patients digoxin was excluded from the therapy. Digoxin confirmed the justifiability of its use in contemporary clinical practice.

Seed Priming Influence on Early Crop Growth, Phenological Development and Yield Performance of Linola (Linum usitatissimum L.)

Reduced early crop growth and limited branching are amongst yield limiting factors of linola. Field response of seed priming treatments viz. 50 mmol L^-1 salicylic acid （SA）, 2.2% CaCl2 and 3.3% moringa leaf extract （MLE） including untreated dry and hydropriming controls was evaluated on early crop growth and yield performance of linola. Osmopriming with CaCl2 reduced emergence time and produced the highest seedling fresh and dry weights including Chl. a contents. Osmopriming with CaCl2 reduced crop branching and flowering and maturity times and had the maximum plant height, number of branches, tillers, pods and seeds per pod followed by MLE. Increase in seed weight, biological and seed yields was 9.30, 34.16 and 39.49%, harvest index （4.12%） and oil contents （13.39%） for CaCl2 osmopriming. Positive relationship between emergence and seedling vigor traits, 100-seed weight, seed yield with maturity time, 100-seed weight and seed yield were found. The study concludes that seed osmopriming with CaC12 or MLE can play significant role to improve early crop growth and seed yields of linola.

Background:Following recent findings from our group that curcumin preconditioning augments the therapeutic efficacy of adipose-derived stem cells in the healing of diabetic wounds in rats,we aimed to investigate the regenerative effects of curcumin preconditioned adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells(ASCs)for better recovery of acid inflicted burns in this ***:ASCs were preconditioned with 5μM curcumin for 24 hours and assessed for proliferation,migration,paracrine release potential and gene expression comparative to naive ***,the healing capacity of curcumin preconditioned ASCs(Cur-ASCs)versus naive ASCs was examined using acidic wounds in *** this,acid inflicted burns of 20 mm in diameter were made on the back of male Wistar ***,2×10^(6) cells of Cur-ASCs and naive ASCs were intradermally injected in the wound periphery(n=6)for comparison with an untreated saline ***-transplantation,wounds were macroscopically analysed and photographed to evaluate the percentage of wound closure and period of *** wound biopsies were excised and used for histological evaluation and expression analysis of wound healing markers at molecular level by quantitative PCR and western ***:We found that Cur-ASCs exhibited greater proliferation,migration and paracrine potential in ***,Cur-ASCs showed more effective recovery than naive ASCs as exhibited by gross morphology,faster wound closure and earlier ***’s trichrome and hematoxylin and eosin staining demonstrated the improved architecture of the healing burns,as evidenced by reduced infiltration of inflammatory cells,compact collagen and marked granulation in Cur-ASC treated *** these findings,molecular assessment showed significantly reduced expressions of pro-inflammatory factors(interleukin-1 beta,interleukin-6,tumor necrosis factor alpha)a with striking upsurge of an oxidative marker(superoxide dismutase 1),p

The lack of effective techniques for estimation of shadow power in fading mobile wireless communication channels motivated the use of Kalman Filtering as an effective alternative. In this paper, linear second-order state space Kalman Filtering is further investigated and tested for applicability. This is important to optimize estimates of received power signals to improve control of handoffs. Simulation models were used extensively in the initial stage of this research to validate the proposed theory. Recently, we managed to further confirm validation of the concept through experiments supported by data from real scenarios. Our results have shown that the linear second-order state space Kalman Filter (KF) can be more accurate in predicting local shadow power profiles than the first-order Kalman Filter, even in channels with imposed non-Gaussian measurement noise.

In an era of unprecedented urbanization, population and industrial growth pressure is serious threat for the water management in Pakistan in present days. Water pollution from raw sewage, industrial wastes, and agricultural runoff limited natural fresh water resources in the country. Human health is facing serious problems due to deteriorating drinking water quality. Current review paper provides an insight to the water quality problems in Pakistan with an attempt to emphasize the challenges of water laws enforcement. Although Pakistan has developed many water laws the state of implementation is dominant, intermediate pollution crises are still remaining. We could come to the conclusion that strictly enforcement is compulsory for water environment regulations in Pakistan. Moreover, it is necessary to establish a reliable risk assessment system for water quality, human health and ecological safety.

Optimizing the estimates of received power signals is important as it can improve the process of transferring an active call from one base station in a cellular network to another base station without any interruptions to the call. The lack of effective techniques for estimation of shadow power in fading mobile wireless communication channels motivated the use of Kalman Filtering (KF) as an effective alternative. In our research, linear second-order state space Kalman Filtering was further investigated and tested for applicability. We first created simulation models for two KF-based estimators designed to estimate local mean (shadow) power in mobile communications corrupted by multipath noise. Simulations were used extensively in the initial stage of this research to validate the proposed method. The next challenge was to determine if the models would work with real data. Therefore, in [1] we presented a new technique to experimentally characterize the wireless small-scale fading channel taking into consideration real environmental conditions. The two-dimensional measurement technique enabled us to perform indoor experiments and collect real data. Measurements from these experiments were then used to validate simulation models for both estimators. Based on the indoor experiments, we presented new results in [2], where we concluded that the second-order KF-based estimator is more accurate in predicting local shadow power profiles than the first-order KF-based estimator, even in channels with imposed non-Gaussian measurement noise. In the present paper, we extend experiments to the outdoor environment to include higher speeds, larger distances, and distant large objects, such as tall buildings. Comparison was performed to see if the system is able to operate without a failure under a variety of conditions, which demonstrates model robustness and further investigates the effectiveness of this method in optimization of the received signals.
