Effect of graphene and its derivatives on thermo-mechanical properties of phase change materials and its applications:a comprehensive review

Phase change materials(PCMs)play a leading role in overcoming the growing need of advanced thermal management for the storage and release of thermal energy which is to be used for different solar ***,the effectiveness of PCMs is greatly affected by their poor thermal ***,in the present review the progress made in deploying the graphene(Gr)in PCMs in the last decade for providing the solution to the aforementioned inadequacy is presented and discussed in *** and its derivatives((Gr oxide(GO),Gr aerogel(GA)and Gr nanoplatelets(GNPs))based PCMs can improve the thermal conductivity and shape stability,which may be attributed to the extra ordinary thermo-physical properties of ***,it is expected from this review that the advantages and disadvantages of using Gr nanoparticles provide a deep insight and help the researchers in finding out the exact basic properties and finally the applications of Gr can be *** this work,Gr and its derivatives based PCMs was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),X-ray diffraction spectroscopy(XRD),and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)by which crystal structure was known,phase was identified along with the knowledge of surface structure *** increase in the mass fraction(%)of the filler(Gr and its derivatives)led to even better thermo-physical properties and thermal *** thermal characterization was also done by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),thermo gravimetric analysis(TGA)and thermal conductivity *** enthalpy of freezing and melting showed that Gr and its derivatives based PCMs had a very high energy storage capability as reflected in its various applications.

In-vitro and in-vivo pharmacological screening of Iris albicans

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the anti-oxidant,enzyme inhibition,anti-pyretic,anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic activities of Iris ***:Anti-oxidant assay was evaluated using DPPH(2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl)radical scavenging and ABTS(2,2'-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)inhibitory protocol while enzyme inhibitory assay was evaluated by lipoxygenase and cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitory protocol ***,anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic potential was evaluated using brewer's yeast induced pyrexia,carrageenan induced paw edema and streptozocin induced diabetes protocols *** biochemical parameters were monitored for the period of ***:The anti-oxidant activity of chloroform fraction of Iris albicans showed the highest scavenging potential against DPPH and ABTS while the maximum inhibitory action recorded against lipo-oxygenase and cyclooxygenase-2 enzymes was shown by n-hexane and chloroform fractions *** anti-pyretic potential of the crude methanolic extract showed dose dependent activity in reducing pyrexia,thereby when the dose was increased the anti-pyretic effect was also *** anti-inflammatory action of the crude methanolic extract administered at the dose of 300 mg/kg was significant at 1 h after its administration,which was found maintained up to 5 *** the anti-diabetic effect of the crude methanolic extract administered at the dose of 200 and 300 mg/kg was noted highly significant at day 6 and was found well maintained throughout the study time period up to 10 ***(P<0.001)improvement appeared in hemoglobin,protein,cholesterol,triglycerides,urea,creatinine,HDL and LDL of extract treated diabetic ***:From this data it could be concluded that Iris albicans have significant anti-oxidant,enzyme inhibition,ant-pyretic,anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic potential.

Numerical investigations of asymmetric flow of a micropolar fluid between two porous disks

Numerical solution is presented for the two- dimensional flow of a micropolar fluid between two porous coaxial disks of different permeability for a range of Reynolds number Re （-300≤ Re 〈 0） and permeability parameter A （1.0≤A ≤2.0）. The main flow is superimposed by the injection at the surfaces of the two disks. Von Karman＇s similarity transformations are used to reduce the governing equations of motion to a set of non-linear coupled ordinary differential equations （ODEs） in dimensionless form. An algorithm based on the finite difference method is employed to solve these ODEs and Richardson＇s extrapolation is used to obtain higher order accuracy. The results indicate that the parameters Re and A have a strong influence on the velocity and microrotation profiles, shear stresses at the disks and the position of the viscous/shear layer. The micropolar material constants cl, c2, c3 have profound effect on microrotation as compared to their effect on streamwise and axial velocity profiles. The results of micropolar fluids are compared with the results for Newtonian fluids.

A Preliminary Study on the Aghbolaq(Fe,Cu)Skarn Deposit,Oshnavieh,NW Iran:Constraints on Metasomatic Fluid Evolution

The Aghbolaq skarn deposit is located in the Urumieh-Golpayegan plutonic belt,NW *** garnetite skarn(stageⅠ)has been intensely cross-cut by the magnetite-garnet skarn(stageⅡ)which were,in turn,cut and offset by the ore-hosting quartz veins/veinlets(stageⅢ).The predominance of andradite(Adr82.5–89.1)and its high Fe3+/Al ratio(up to 1685)apparently supports the high fO2,salinity and prevalence of magmatic/hydrothermal fluids involved,rather than meteoric waters,during the magnetite-garnet skarn *** major groups of fluid inclusions,namely aqueous(LV,LVS)and aqueous–carbonic(LVC,LLCVC),were recognized in garnet and quartz veins that,especially in growth zones and along intra-granular trails,better display fluid inclusion assemblages(FIAs)than those in *** prograde magnetite-garnet skarn was formed by the metasomatic fluid at relatively high Th(209–374℃),under a lithostatic pressure of~200 *** retrograde mineralized quartz veins were formed at temperatures ranging from 124℃to 256℃,by dilute and less saline(2.57–11.93 wt%NaCl eq.)hydrothermal fluids under a hydrostatic pressure of~80 *** fluid evolution of the Aghbolaq skarn began with an earlier simple cooling of metasomatic fluid during the prograde stage,followed by the later influx of low salinity meteoric fluids during the retrograde stage.
