Response of Rice Cultivars to Elevated Air Temperature and Soil Amendments: Implications towards Climate Change Adaptations and Mitigating Global Warming Potentials

Global mean surface air temperature is expected to increase 1.1˚C - 6.4˚C by the end of 21st century which may affect rice productivity and methane emissions in the future climate. This experiment was conducted to investigate the response of rice cultivars to elevated air temperature (+1.5˚C higher than ambient) and soil amendments in regards to rice yield, yield scaled methane emissions and global warming potentials. The experimental findings revealed that replacement of inorganic fertilizers (20% - 40% of recommended NPk.) with Vermicompost, Azolla biofertilizer, enriched sugarcane pressmud, rice husk.biochar and silicate fertilization increased rice yield 13.0% - 23.0%, and 11.0% - 19.0% during wet aman and dry boro season, respectively. However, seasonal cumulative CH4 fluxes were decreased by 9.0% - 25.0% and 5.0% - 19.0% during rainfed wet aman and irrigated dry boro rice cultivation, respectively with selected soil amendments. The maximum reduction in seasonal cumulative CH4 flux (19.0% - 25.0%) was recorded with silicate fertilization and azolla biofertilizer amendments (9.0% - 13.0%), whereas maximum grain yield increment 10.0 % - 14.0% was found with Vermicompost and Sugarcane pressmud amendments compared to chemical fertilization (100% NPk.) treated soils at ambient air temperature. However, rice grain yield decreased drastically 43.0% - 50.0% at elevated air temperature (3˚C higher than ambient air temperature), eventhough accelerated the total cumulative CH4 flux as well as GWPs in all treatments. Maximum seasonal mean GWPs were calculated at 391.0 k. CO2 eq·ha−1 in rice husk.biochar followed by sugarcane pressmud (mean GWP 387.0 k. CO2 eq·ha−1), while least GWPs were calculated at 285 - 305 k. CO2 eq·ha−1 with silicate fertilizer and Azolla biofertilizer amendments. The aim of this paper is to observe the Nusselt number and friction factor behavior of the circular tube with conical strip inserts as turbulators in a laminar flow condition, using staggered and non-staggered conical strips with three different twist ratios （Y = 2, 3 and 5）. The conical strip is inserted in the forward and back.ard direction individually compared to the flow of water which is the work.ng fluid. The results indicate that the conical strip inserts increases the Nusselt number when compared to the plain surface tube. It is observed that the strip geometry has a major effect on the thermal performance of the circular tube. On examination of different strips for determining the enhancement of Nusselt number, the staggered conical strip with the twist ratio of Y = 3 has given a better result compared to the other two strips. Finally, correlations have been derived using regression analysis for predicting the Nusselt number and friction factor.

Back.round: Dienogest is a potential treatment for pelvic pain associated with endometriosis, a condition of significant concern in gynaecology. The current study was conducted as a crossover-randomized bioequivalence assessment of two oral Dienogest 2 mg formulations, aiming to provide valuable insights for healthcare professionals and researchers in this field. Objective: The primary aim of this research was to evaluate and compare the pharmacok.netic characteristics of Dienogest 2 mg tablets. Dinogest (Dienogest 2 mg) tablets, manufactured by Nuvista Pharma Limited in Bangladesh, and Visanne (Dienogest 2 mg) tablets, manufactured by Bayer Pharma in Germany, were the test and reference formulations, respectively. Materials and Method: The study was an open-label, balanced, randomized, two treatments, two sequences, two periods, two-way crossover, laboratory blind, single oral dose bioequivalence study conducted in healthy adult females under fasting conditions. The study was carried out on 13 healthy, non-pregnant female subjects, and all the subjects completed both study periods with a 15-day washout in between. Randomization was used to assign the test and reference formulations to the subjects. Following each oral administration, a series of blood samples were obtained at different time intervals from pre-dose to 72 hours post-dose and analyzed for Dienogest concentrations using a validated bio-analytical method. A standard non-compartmental model was used to analyze the pharmacok.netic parameters. The primary pharmacok.netic parameters were peak.plasma drug concentration (Cmax), the area under the plasma concentration-time curve from time zero to time t (AUC0–t), and AUC from t = 0 to infinity (AUC0–∞). The productivity of traditional agrisilviculture system(agricultural crops + trees) was investigated in the northern and southern aspects of mid-hill situation in Garhwal Himalaya, Uttarak.and, India during the 2004?2006.A total of 19 tree species were studied in both northern and southern aspects, out of which 17 tree species were selected in northern aspect and 12 tree species in southern aspect for phytosociological characteristic analysis of trees in agrisilvicultural *** most dominant tree species are Grewia optiva, Celtis australis and Melia azedarach and successively grown under traditional agrisilviculture *** results show that the annual productivity of all tree species was 3 775 k.·ha-1·a-1 in northern aspect(site-N) and 3 101 k.·ha-1·a-1 in southern aspect(site-S).*** had the highest productivity in both site-N and site-S among the tree species, followed by ***, Quercus leucotrichophora and *** dominant agricultural crops were Eleusine coracana in summer cereals, Phaseolus vulgaris in summer pulses-oilseeds and Triticum aestivum in the winter season in the *** average biological productivity of agricultural crops in northern aspect was about 16% higher than that in southern aspect under traditional agrisilviculture *** sole agricultural crop productivity(without trees) in northern aspect was also higher than that in southern *** obvious difference in annual productivity of trees and agriculture crops was observed between northern aspect and southern *** overall productivity in traditional agrisilviculture system(crop + tree) was 24%(in northern aspect) and 21%(in southern aspect) higher than that in sole cropping system.
