The paper describes a large-area analysis of the triggering zones of shallow landslides on a case of unsaturated layered volcanic air-fall(pyroclastic) soil deposits in Cervinara site(18 km^2),Southern *** physically-based model TRIGRS(Transient Rainfall Infiltration-Based Grid Regional Slope-Stability) is used,which is used with either saturated or unsaturated conditions and implemented in a GIS *** addition to using the TRIGRS model to simulate some recent landslides,a new simplified approach is also tested to take into account the actual layered soil *** consistency check of the model and of the input data is performed with reference to slope stable conditions before *** performances of the models are evaluated through the ROC curves and two other quantitative indexes taken from the literature referring to the slope failures caused by december 1999 *** the simplifications and limitations of the present work,both unsaturated conditions and layered stratigraphy are outlined as key factors for the slope stability of shallow deposits of unsaturated coarse-grained soils subjected to short heavy rainfall.

despite the enormous success and popularity of density-functional theory,systematic verification and validation studies are still limited in number and ***,we propose a protocol to test publicly available pseudopotential libraries,based on several independent criteria including verification against all-electron equations of state and plane-wave convergence tests for phonon frequencies,band structure,cohesive energy and *** these criteria we obtain curated pseudopotential libraries(named SSSP or standard solid-state pseudopotential libraries),that we target for high-throughput materials screening(“SSSP efficiency”)and high-precision materials modelling(“SSSP precision”).This latter scores highest among open-source pseudopotential libraries available in theΔ-factor test of equations of states of elemental solids.

Although many causes of Alzheimer’s disease(Ad)may exist,both the original amyloid cascade and tau hypotheses posit that abnormal misfolding and accumulation of amyloid-β(Aβ)and tau protein is the central event causing the ***,that conclusion could be only partly true,and there is conflicting evidence about the role of both proteins in Ad,being able to precede and influence one *** researchers argue that these proteins are mere executors rather than primary causes of ***,there have been continuing refinements of both hypotheses,with alternative explanations proposed.Aβand tau proteins may be independently involved in specific neurotoxic pathways;yet there may be other crucial processes going on in early ***,accumulating evidence suggests that Aβand tau act synergistically,rather than additively in disease onset(Jeremic et al.,2021,2023a).

The Athenians thought that a city, understood as a community made up of people with different needs and potential, had the primary task of educating its citizens, in order to favour their harmonious integration in the polis and their active participation in the polis’ *** this cultural perspective, admirably synthesized by Plutarch through the expression 'the city is the best teacher,' we can trace the roots of the current concept of the educating *** article aims to explore the various dimensions of the educating city concept, by demonstrating, how only cities that are able to activate different educational processes(formal and informal) can be authentic vehicles of social *** this direction, the city, on the one hand, can realize every person’s potential, abilities, and rights to the lifelong education;on the other hand, the city can promote the community identity itself, as well as the self-construction of the sense of ***, also through innovative conceptual proposals for overcoming the relational and aesthetic poverty of the metropolis form of the contemporary city, fosters the perception of the city as a highly complex living organism.

Oxidative stress is considered the principal mediator of myocardial injury under pathological *** is well known that reactive oxygen(ROS)or nitrogen species(RNS)are involved in myocardial injury and repair at the same time and that cellular damage is generally due to an unbalance between generation and elimination of the free radicals due to an inad-equate mechanism of antioxidant defense or to an increase in ROS and *** adverse cardiovascular events are often asso-ciated with drugs with associated findings such as fibrosis or inflammation of the *** efforts in the preclinical phase of the development of drugs,cardiotoxicity still remains a great *** toxicity due to second-generation anti-psychotics(clozapine,olanzapine,quetiapine)has been observed in preclinical studies and described in patients affected with mental disorders.A role of oxidative stress has been hypothesized but more evidence is needed to confirm a causal relationship.A better knowledge of cardiotoxicity mechanisms should address in the future to establish the right dose and length of treatment without impacting the physical health of the patients.
