The Lom.Pangar dam. the largest reservoir in Cam.roon with a storage capacity of 6 km. and a 30 m. hydropower plant, prim.rily regulates the hydrologic regim. of the Sanaga River to m.intain hydropower efficiency during dry seasons and enhance downstream.hydropower plant perform.nce. Understanding and m.naging sedim.nts are crucial for the sustainability of dam., as indicated by num.rous studies. This study assessed the granulom.try of the sedim.nts transported across the reservoir. For that purpose, 6 sam.les of fresh sedim.nts were collected in the lacustrine and transitional sections of the reservoir using the standard m.thod. Particles size was assessed using the laser diffusion technic after a 3 m. sieving. Various granulom.tric param.ters were derived from.the literature to analyze and characterize those sedim.nts. Results show that silts are m.re than 70% of particles size and range between 2.19 - 60.26 µm. Size distribution also shows the sam. trend with D75 less than 51 µm. This is confirm.d by the low values of Inm.n Skewness SkΦ (−0.168 to 0.303). The Sorting index S0 ranges from.0.31 to 0.53 µm. showing a very well-sorted sedim.nts, aligning with low values of Krum.ein index (0.906 - 1.683) that express the low heterom.try of the particles. The consequence on the dam.will be a quick clogging of the bottom.of the reservoir. Their pH varies from.7.0 to 7.5. It also appears that the sandy fraction trend is higher in the right bank of the dam.and reaches 22% on the right bank of Pangar River due to crystalline geology. Fraction greater than 3000 µm.is negligible. The m.nagem.nt of the dam.has to keep attention to these results as siltation m.y close the safety outlet of the dam. dam.ge turbines, and provoke recurrent technical and safety issues. Further, the clogging of the bottom.of the reservoir m.y lead to an ecological problem.with the lim.tation of hyporheic flow. Prays oleae Bern, （Om. andPalpita unionalis Hfib., （Jm. are two of the m.st im.ortant pests in olive groves in Egypt. A 3-year m.nitoring study using sex pherom.ne traps in sem.-arid and arid olive groves was perform.d. In the sem.-arid grove, flight pattern of the Om.was the sam. as in other m.diterranean countries, but in dates concordating plant phenology. The m.th com.letes three generations annually： the first flight is in m.rch to April, the second is in m.y to June and the third occurs in August to October. In the arid olive grove, an interesting flight pattern was observed. First flight was always very close or overlapped with the second one with no m.le catches during August to October. However, eggs were present m.st of the season, indicating unusually high fem.le presence and oviposition activity of the Om.during the absence of m.les in the traps. Generally, m.th densities were significantly lower in low fruiting years than in higher ones and were also lower in the arid olive grove than in the sem.-arid one. In contrast, Jm.m.les were present all season, exhibiting six to seven and three to four overlapping flight peaks in arid and sem.-arid olive groves, respectively. m.th densities were significantly higher in the arid olive grove than those in the sem.-arid one. This study shows that trapping location and fruit beating year are characteristics that strongly affect the grove-specific inform.tion needed to estim.te correctly adult em.rgence and thus the tim.ng of control m.asures.

AIm.To investigate the capacity of Saccharom.ces cerevisiae(S. cerevisiae) and Saccharom.ces boulardii(S. boulardii) yeasts to reverse or to treat acute stress-related intestinal *** Adult Swiss Webster m.ce were stressed for 1 h in a wire-m.sh restraint to induce sym.tom. of intestinal dysm.tility and were subsequently killed by cervical dislocation. Jejunal and colon tissue were excised and placed within a tissue perfusion bath in which S. cerevisiae, S. boulardii, or their supernatants were adm.nistered into the lum.n. Video recordings of contractility and gut diam.ter changes were converted to spatiotem.oral m.ps and the velocity, frequency, and am.litude of propagating contractile clusters(PCC) were m.asured. m.tility pre- and post-treatm.nt was com.ared between stressed anim.ls and unstressed controls. RESULTS S. boulardii and S. cerevisiae helped to m.diate the effects of stress on the sm.ll and large intestine. Restraint stress reduced jejunal transit velocity(m./s)from.2.635 ± 0.316 to 1.644 ± 0.238, P m.0.032 ± 0.008 to 0.016 ± 0.005, P m./s) from.0.864 ± 0.183 to 1.432 ± 0.329, P m.nal application of S. boulardii helped to restore jejunal and colonic velocity towards the unstressed controls; 1.833 ± 0.688 to 2.627 ± 0.664, P m.st apparent in the jejunum.
