Migratory connectivity describes the linkage between breeding and nonbreeding sites,having major ecological implications in birds:1 season influence the success of an individual or a population in the following *** studies on migratory connectivity have used large-scale approaches,often considering regional populations,but fine-scale studies are also necessary to understand colony *** lesser kestrel Falco naumanni,an insectivorous migratory raptor which form colonies during the breeding period,was considered to have strong connectivity based on regional ***,no small-scale studies on migratory connectivity have been ***,we GPS(Global Positioning System)-tracked 40 adult lesser kestrels from 15 different Spanish breeding colonies,estimating the overlap index between home ranges and the distance between their *** was found that lesser kestrels from the same breeding colony placed their nonbreeding areas at 347±281 km(mean±standard deviation)away from each other(range=23-990),and their home ranges over-lapped by 38.4±23.6%.No differences between intra-colony and inter-colony metrics were found,which suggests that lesser kestrels from the same breeding cluster do not overwinter together,but they spread out and mixed independently of the colony belonging throughout the nonbreeding range of the ***,this study highlights the importance of performing connectivity studies using fine-scale approaches.

The Pyrenean chamois Rupicapra pyrenaica pyrenaica is a mountain-dwelling ungulate with an extensive presence in open areas. Optimal group size results from the trade off between advantages （a reduction in the risk of predation） and disadvantages （competition between members of the herd） of group living. In addition, advantages and disadvantages of group living may vary depending on the position of each individual within the herd. Our objective was to study the effect of central vs. peripheral position in the herd on feeding and vigilance behavior in male and female Pyrenean chamois and to ascertain if a group size effect existed. We used focal animal sampling and recorded social interactions when a focal animal was involved. With males, vigilance rate was higher in the central part of the group than at the periphery, probably due to a higher density of animals in the central part of the herd and a higher probability of being disturbed by conspecifics. With females, vigilance rate did not differ according to position in the herd. Females spent more time feeding than males, and males showed a higher frequency of the vigilance behavior than females. We did not observe a clear relationship between group size and vigilance behavior. The differences in vigilance behavior might be due to social interactions

In this work we introduce two new Barzilai and Borwein-like steps sizes for the classical gradient method for strictly convex quadratic optimization *** proposed step sizes employ second-order information in order to obtain faster gradient-type *** step sizes are derived from two unconstrained optimization models that involve approximate information of the Hessian of the objective function.A convergence analysis of the proposed algorithm is *** numerical experiments are performed in order to compare the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed methods with similar methods in the ***,it is observed that our proposals accelerate the gradient method at nearly no extra computational cost,which makes our proposal a good alternative to solve large-scale problems.

In this contribution, we use a coupled air quality modelling system (AQM) as a tool to design and develop an air quality plan in Madrid. AQM has allowed us to obtain a preliminary evaluation of the effect of mitigation measures over regional and local air quality levels. To achieve these goals, we have prepared a sophisticated AQM, coupling the meteorological model WRF, the emission model AEMM, and the photochemical model CMAQ. AQM was evaluated using the whole modelling year 2010 working with high horizontal resolution, 3 km for the region of Madrid and 1km for urban metropolitan area of Madrid. Two different analyses have been realized: a source apportionment exercise following a zero-out methodology to obtain the contribution to the air quality levels of the different emission sector;and an evaluation of the main mitigation measures considered in the air quality plan using sensitivity analysis. The air quality plan was focused on the improvement of NO2 levels and AQM analyzed the effect of the mitigation measures during ten episodes of 2011 where NO2 or O3 levels were the highest of the year;so we analyzed the effect of the mitigation plan in worst conditions. Results provided by the AQM system show that it accomplishes the European Directive modelling uncertainty requirements and the mean absolute gross error for 1-h maximum daily NO2 is 31% over locations with higher levels of this atmospheric pollutant;the road traffic is the main contributor to the air quality levels providing a 81% for NO2, 67% for CO and 46% for PM10;measures defined in the plan achieve to reduce up to 11 μgm-3 NO2 levels offering highest reductions over urban areas with traffic influence.

In this contribution, we calibrate the meteorological model weather and research forecasting (WRF) for operational forecasting in the Port of Huelva managed by the Authority Port of Huelva. Meteorological forecasting will allow reducing the impact of the meteorological phenomena over weather sensitive activities in the region. Concretely, the meteorological modeling developed will be used to analyze meteorological hazard impacts and to improve the management of the local air quality. To achieve these goals, numerous sensitive analyses corresponding to different model options have been developed. These analyses consider different physical and dynamical options, the coupling of very high resolution physiographic database (topography and land uses), and data assimilation. Comparing experiments, results with observational measures provide us by the Spanish National Meteorology Agency (AEMET). During a representative period, the optimum WRF configuration for the region is obtained. Calibration has been focused on wind due to this is the main risk factor in the region. When the model is satisfactorily calibrated, WRF is evaluated using whole modeling years 2012 and 2013, working with very high horizontal resolution, up to 0.333 km of horizontal grid resolution. Results obtained from the evaluation indicate that the numerical weather prediction system developed has a confidence level of 70% for the temperature, 81% and 66% for the wind speed and wind direction respectively, and 90% for the relative humidity. Methodology designed defines the quality control assurance of high-accuracy forecasting services of Meteosim S.L.

The present study has generated and analyzed Climate Change projections in Nicaragua for the period 2010-2040. The obtained results are to be used for evaluating and planning more resilient transport infrastructures in the next decades. This study has focused its efforts to pay attention into the effect of Climate Change on precipitation and temperature from a mean and extreme event perspective. Dynamical Downscaling approach on a 4 km resolution grid has been chosen as the most appropriate methodology for the estimation of the projected climate, being able to account for local-scale factors like complex topography or local land uses properly. We selected MPI-ESM-MR as the global climate model with the best skill scores in terms of precipitation and temperature in Nicaragua. MPI-ESM-MR was coupled to a mesoscale model. We chose WRF mesoescale model as the most appropriate regional model and we optimized their physical and dynamical options in order to minimize the model uncertainty in Nicaragua. For this, model output against the available in-situ measurements from the national meteorological station network and satellite data were compared. Climate change signal was estimated by comparing the different climate statistics calculated from a model run over an historical period, 1980-2009, with a model run over a projected period, 2010-2040. The obtained results from the projected climate show an increase of the mean temperature between 0.6°C and 0.8°C and an increase of the number of days per year with maximum daily temperatures higher than 35°C. Regarding precipitation, annual projected amounts do not change remarkably with respect to the historical period. However, significant changes in the distribution of the precipitation within the wet period (May-October) were observed. Moreover, an increment between 5% and 10% of the number of days without precipitation is expected. Finally, Intensity-Duration-Frequency (IDF) projected curves show an increment of the rainfall

[背景]术后恶心呕吐(PONV)是麻醉和手术后常见的一种情况,总发生率为40%-90%。麻醉类型、手术类型和手术部位对PONV发生率有影响。一些临床研究显示针灸有预防和治疗术后恶心呕吐的作用。针灸通常用于治疗疼痛,许多研究发现,与常规治疗相比,它是安全的。许多临床研究评估了针刺和相关方法作为术后镇痛辅助治疗的疗效,但目前可得到文献中尚示发现有对针刺预防术后恶心呕吐、疼痛同时进行评价研究的报道,而这正是本研究所要进行的工作。[目的]对接受手术的患者进行预防性针刺治疗,以评估针刺是否有助于减少术后恶心,呕吐和术后疼痛的发作,希望可以将针灸作为手术每一步骤过程中已经确立的预防性方案的补充治疗。[方法]背景与设计:本课题是一项前瞻性,随机对照试验研究。患者被随机分为两组:A组(针灸组)32例,和C组(对照组)32例。研究周期:自2018年4月至6月。患者:64名在全身麻醉下接受腹腔镜腹部手术或乳腺手术的患者被纳入研究,女性占70%,男性占30%。所有入选的患者都接受了相同的术后恶心和呕吐(PONV)预防方案,疼痛预防和麻醉方案也相同(附录1,7)干预:A组(针刺组):患者接受针对恶心,呕吐和疼痛的预防性治疗,然后在以下穴位进行针刺治疗:足三里(ST36),上巨虚(ST37),内关(PC6),合谷(LI4),双侧取穴,得气后接电刺激,采用疏密波形,强度以患者感觉轻微但舒适的抽动感为度。施加电刺激30分钟。C组(对照组):患者接受针对恶心,呕吐和疼痛的预防性治疗(附录1,7),未接受针灸治疗。结果测量:测量恶心,我们使用视觉模拟量表(VAS)1到10。呕吐,评分为0 =无呕吐,1 =呕吐测量疼痛,我们使用视觉模拟量表(VAS)1到10。在干预结束后60分钟、手术后5小时和24小时测量恶心,呕吐和疼痛。统计分析:使用Excel保存和管理数据,进行简单的统计分析。分析疼痛使用分析软件R,使用Fisher检验比较固定时间组间的分值,使用Mac Nemar进行组间不同时间段的比较(60分钟,5小时和24小时)。[结果]观察的主要变量是针灸在手术后5小时预防恶心的有效性。结果是两组患者在5小时后均未出现恶心,但在恢复室,即手术后即刻,A组中有两名患者出现恶心,VAS 2,C组只有一名患者出现恶心,VAS 2。对所有的三例患者下都给予了对症药物处理。研究的次要变量是呕吐和疼痛。呕吐:两组都没有出现呕吐。疼痛:-干预后60分钟在恢复室内,A组VAS值为1.84± 1.05,C组VAS值为2.41±1.90。-干预后5小时,A组VAS值为0.72±0.73,C组VAS值为1.22±1.16。-干预后24小时,A组VAS值为0.25±0.44,C组VAS值为0.66±0.65。按连续间隔分析,在干预后60分钟(基线)两组相比没有差异(P=0.135),但A组在5小时(P=0.035)至24小时(P= 0.003)与基线比较有更少的疼痛。按分类方式分析,在术后任何时刻两组都没有差异,基线P值=0.074,5小时P值=0.113,24 小时 P 值=1。[结论]手术前使用的预防恶心、呕吐和疼痛方案中药物的作用非常显著,因此,很难显示出针刺组预防手术后症状和体征的作用。然而,本研究仍显示针刺有减轻手术后疼痛的作用,为手术患者提供了常规手术后预防性方案的补充治疗方法。

Background:Universal vaccination for hepatitis B virus(HBV)and migratory movements have changed the demographic characteristics of this disease in Spain and in ***,we evaluated the characteristics of the disease and the possible differences according to origin(immigrants vs non-immigrants)and access to ***:This is a multicenter cross-sectional study(June 2014 to May 2015)in which outpatients with a positive HBsAg were seen and followed in four Hepatology *** and clinical data and indication and access to treatment were collected in two different regions of Catalonia(Spain)where there are no barriers to treatment due to a comprehensive coverage under the National Health ***:A total of 951 patients were evaluated(48.1%men).Of these,46.6%were immigrants(58.7%of them were born in Africa)and were significantly younger compared to *** proportions of patients with alcohol consumption,being overweight,and other indicators of metabolic co-morbidities were significantly higher in *** the 937 patients receiving HBeAg examination,91.7%were *** HBeAg-positive infection was significantly higher in immigrants(3.9%vs 0.6%,P=0.001)and chronic HBeAg-negative hepatitis was higher non-immigrants(31.7%vs 21.4%,P<0.001).Not only was the proportion of patients who met treatment criteria significantly higher among nonimmigrants(38.4%vs 29.2%,P=0.003),but also the proportion of those with indication of effectively receiving therapy at the time of data collection(83.2%vs 57.8%,P<0.001).Conclusions:The immigrant population with HBV is younger and has a lower prevalence of metabolic co-morbidities and a higher frequency of chronic HBeAg *** having access to care and an indication for treatment,some do not get adequately treated due to several factors including local adaptation that precludes access to treatment.

Pegylated interferon alfa-2b is a formulation of recombinant human interferon conjugated with polyethylene glycol. Compared with standard interferon alfa injections, this preparation has a longer half-life allowing for once-weekly injections and superior antiviral efficacy in the treatment of hepatitis C when used in combination with ribavirin. Cutaneous side effects caused by interferon are well known. Cutaneous necrosis as a result of interferon alfa is an infrequent complication with unknown pathogenesis, in which a cutaneous local immune-mediated inflammatory process might be involved. We report 5 patients (3 patients with chronic hepatitis C treated with pegylated interferon alfa-2b in association with oral ribavirin and two patients with chronic myelocytic leukemia) who developed local cutaneous reactions at sites of injection after the administration of weekly subcutaneous injections of pegylated interferon alfa-2b at different doses. The ulcers slowly healed with local therapy, but two patients required dose modification of the pegylated interferon alfa-2b and one patient required treatment withdrawal. We review the literature on previously reported cases of cutaneous necrosis after injection of standard interferon alfa or pegylated interferon alfa-2b and discuss the different pathophysiologic mechanisms that might be involved.
