The change in the distribution of organisms in freshwater ecosystems due to natural or manmade processes raises the question of the impact of alien species on local *** most studies indicate a negative effect,the positive one is more difficult to discern,espe-cially in multispecies systems,including hosts and *** purpose of the study was to check whether the presence of an alien host,Potamopyrgus antipodarum,reduces the intensity of Echinoparyphium aconiatum metacercariae in a native host,Radix *** additionally tested the impact of water temperature and the biomass of the alien host on the dilution *** experimentally studied(1)the lifespan of echinostome cercariae in different temperatures,(2)the infectivity of cercariae toward the alien host and native host,and(3)the impact of different biomass of the alien host on the intensity of metacercariae in the native *** found that cercarial survival and infectivity were tem-perature ***,cercarial survival decreased with increasing temperature,contrary to cercarial *** cercariae entered the renal cavity of both the native host and alien host,and successfully transformed into *** number of metacercariae in the native host decreased with the increasing biomass of the alien *** results indicate that lymnaeids may benefit from the co-occur-rence with P antipodarum,as the presence of additional hosts of different origins may reduce the prevalence of parasites in native ***,the scale of the dilution effect depends not only on the increased spectrum of susceptible hosts but also on the other variables of the environment,including water temperature and host density.

Glycerol steam reforming over calcium hydroxyapatite supported cobalt and cobalt-cerium catalysts

Calcium hydroxyapatite（HAp） supported cobalt and cobalt-cerium catalysts were examined for hydrogen production in glycerol steam reforming. The catalysts were synthesized by incipient wetness impregnation method and characterized through X-ray diffraction, adsorption-desorption isotherms of N2 and temperature-programmed reduction of H2. Catalytic properties were examined in terms of glycerol conversion, selectivity toward hydrogen and C-containing products in temperature range of 650-800 ℃.The effect of active metal reduction and residence time（thereby flow feed rate） was analysed. It was found that the growth of residence time increased the hydrogen selectivity in the whole temperatures range whereas the catalyst reduction, before the catalytic process, decreased the hydrogen selectivity at temperatures lower than 750 ℃. The cerium addition improved the catalytic behaviour for hydrogen production via glycerol steam reforming. Cerium oxide suppressed the sintering of cobalt particles and as a result Co-Ce/HAp ensured higher stability and H2 selectivity than Co/HAp. Under reaction conditions investigated in this study, the highest selectivity toward hydrogen at 650 ℃ was obtained for 7.5 Co-Ce/HAp catalyst.

This paper addresses the problem of robust iterative learning control design for a class of uncertain multiple-input multipleoutput discrete linear systems with actuator faults. The stability theory for linear repetitive processes is used to develop formulas for gain matrices design, together with convergent conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities. An extension to deal with model uncertainty of the polytopic or norm bounded form is also developed and an illustrative example is given.

Optical imaging plays an important role in biomedical research being extremely useful for early detection, screening and image-guided therapy. Lanthanide-doped up-converting nanoparticles were ideally suited for bioimaging because they could be ex- cited in near infrared （NIR） and emit in NIR or visible （VIS）. Here, we compared lanthanide doped up-converting NaYF4 and organic fluorophores for application in deep-tissue imaging. For that purpose - tissue phantoms mimicking the natural properties of light scat- tering by living tissues were prepared. The studies allowed to quantitatively compare optical resolution of different fluorescent com- pounds, revealing that the NIR photoexcitation was favorable over conventional UV photoexcitation.

Recent theoretical and experimental studies have indicated the existence of a new stable phase of carbon with mixed sp^(2) and sp^(3) hybridized bonds—*** a two-layered structure with sp^(2)/sp^(3) bonds may be observed after the photostimulation of highly oriented pyrolytic graphene with femtosecond laser *** hidden multistability of graphene may be used to create a semiconducting phase immersed in the semimetallic continuum,resulting in bandgap *** demonstrate that bandgap opening and light emission from graphene is possible using continuous-wave laser beams with wavelengths from the visible(405 nm)to the near-infrared range(975 nm).We demonstrate that without the application of cooling,the effective temperature of the emitting sample remains lower than 900 K,which is far below the value predicted by the theory of black-body ***,light emission from a graphene sample may be observed at temperatures as low as 10 K.

An unconditionally stable finite difference discretization motivated by the well-known Crank-Nicolson method is used to develop an iterative learning control design for systems whose dynamics are described by a fourth-order partial differential equation.A discrete in time and space model of a deformable rectangular mirror is derived in this setting and forms the basi s for the new design,where a model for the actuator dynamics is also included.A numerical case study is given to demonstrate the properties of the new design.

Social media have emerged as an important component of technology-mediated communications and many companies have been supporting the development of social networking sites as a part of brand communities （Kaplan ＆ Haenlein, 2010）. This study was undertaken to understand how private club general managers （GMs） and chief operating officers （COOs） perceive their ease of use, usefulness, and enjoyment of social media. Surveys were completed by attendees at the Club Managers Association of America Business Management Institute III （CMAA BMI III） executive development in Spring 2014 and Fall 2014. As one of a few empirical information technology （IT） studies in the context of the private club industry, the findings of this study are expected to provide baselines to academics and private club GMs/COOs in understanding the processes of social media technology adoption and acceptance in the private club industry.
