Dear Editor,The global burden of cancer is *** list of malignancies regarded as obesity-related continues to expand as evidence accumulates[1,2].Fueled by the ongoing obesity epidemic,obesity has emerged as one of the most important preventable causes of cancerworldwide[1,3].Given the long latency periods of many obesity-related adult cancers,risk factors with onset during early age and accumulation of risks during one’s life course are likely to be of importance[4].

The notion of broken k-diamond partitions was introduced by Andrews and ***△k(n)denote the number of broken k-diamond partitions of *** and Paule also posed three conjectures on the congruences of△2(n)modulo 2,5 and *** and Sellers proved the conjectures for modulo 2,and Chan proved the two cases of modulo *** the case of modulo 3,Radu and Sellers obtained an infinite family of congruences for△2(n).In this paper,we obtain two infinite families of congruences for△2(n)modulo 3 based on a formula of Radu and Sellers,a 3-dissection formula of the generating function of triangular number due to berndt,and the properties of the U-operator,the V-operator,the Hecke operator and the Hecke *** example,we find that△2(243n+142)≡△2(243n+223)≡0(mod 3).The infinite family of Radu and Sellers and the two infinite families derived in this paper have two congruences in common,namely,△2(27n+16)≡△2(27n+25)≡0(mod 3).

This study investigated the association between depressive symptoms in elderly Chinese men and the total testosterone, dehydroepiandrosterone （DHEA）, DHEA sulphate （DHEAS）, oestradiol and sex hormone-binding globulin （SHbG） levels, and the free androgen index. Cross-sectional data from 1147 community-dwelling elderly men, aged 65 and older, were used. Depressive symptoms were measured using the Chinese Geriatric Depression Scale （GDS）. Total testosterone, free testosterone, DHEA, DHEAS, total oestradiol, the free androgen index and SHbG levels were assessed. DHEA was significantly associated with GDS score, and there was a trend towards DHEAS association, but this was not significant （p=-0. 110, P=0.015; p=-0.074, P=0.055）. However, no association was seen between depressive symptoms and total testosterone levels, free testosterone levels, oestradiol levels or SHbG levels. In terms of the presence of clinically relevant depressive symptoms, there were no statistically significant differences between patients in the lowest quartile of sex steroid hormone levels and those in other quartiles of sex steroid hormone levels. Similarly to Western studies, our study shows that DHEA and DHEAS levels are associated with depressive symptoms.

Let L be a pseudo-D-lattice. We prove that the exhaustive lattice uniformities on L which makes the operations of L uniformly continuous form a boolean algebra isomorphic to the centre of a suitable complete pseudo-D-lattice associated to L. As a consequence, we obtain decomposition theorems such as Lebesgue and Hewitt-Yosida decompositions--and control theorems such as bartle-Dunford Schwartz and Rybakov theorems--for modular measures on L.

Increasing evidence points to a role for killer immunoglobulin-like receptors(KIRs)in the development of autoimmune *** particular,a positive association of KIR3DS1(activating receptor)and a negative association of KIR3DL1(inhibitory receptor)alleles with ankylosing spondylitis(AS)have been reported by several ***,none of the studies analyzed these associations in the context of functionality of polymorphic *** better understand how the KIR3DL1/3DS1 genes determine susceptibility to AS,we analyzed the frequencies of alleles and genotypes encoding functional(KIR3DL1*F)and non-functional(KIR3DL1*004)*** genotyped 83 AS patients and 107 human leukocyte antigen(HLA)-b27-positive healthy controls from the Russian Caucasian population using a two-stage sequence-specific primer PCR,which distinguishes KIR3DS1,KIR3DL1*F and KIR3DL1*004 *** the patients carrying two functional KIR3DL1 alleles,those alleles were additionally genotyped to identify KIR3DL1*005 and KIR3DL1*007 alleles,which are functional but are expressed at low ***3DL1 was negatively associated with AS at the expense of KIR3DL1*F but not of KIR3DL1**** finding indicates that the inhibitory KIR3DL1 receptor protects against the development of AS and is not simply a passive counterpart of the segregating KIR3DS1 allele encoding the activating ***,analysis of genotype frequencies indicates that the presence of KIR3DS1 is a more important factor for AS susceptibility than the absence of KIR3DL1**** activation of either natural killer(NK)or T cells via the KIR3DS1 receptor can be one of the critical events in AS development,while the presence of the functional KIR3DL1 receptor has a protective ***,even individuals with a genotype that carried two inhibitory KIR3DL1 alleles expressed at high levels could develop AS.

Synthesis and physicochemical properties of LiLa_(0.01)Mn_(1.99)O_(3.99)F_(0.01) cathode materials for lithium ion batteries

Spinel lithium manganese oxide cathode materials were synthesized using the ultrasonic-assisted sol-gel method. The synthesized samples were investigated by differential thermal analysis （DTA） and thermogravimetry （TG）, powder X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, cyclic voltammetry （CV）, and the charge-discharge test. TG-DTA shows that significant mass loss occurs in two temperature regions during the synthesis of LiLa0.01Mn1.9903.99F0.01. XRD data indicate that all samples exhibit the same pure spinel phase, and LiLa0.01Mn1.9903.99F0.01 and LiLa0.01Mn1.9904 samples have a better crystallinity than LiMn2O4. SEM images indicate that LiLa0.01Mn1.9903.99F0.01 has a slightly smaller particle size and a more regular morphology structure with narrow size distribution. The charge-discharge test reveals that the initial capacities of LiMn2O4, LiLa0.01Mn1.99O4, and LiLa0.01Mn1.99O3.99F0.01 are 130, 123, and 126 mAh·g^-1, respectively, and the capacity retention rates of the initial value, after 50 cycles, are 84.8%, 92.3%, and 92.1%, respectively. The electrode coulomb efficiency and CV reveal that the electrode synthesized by the ultrasonic-assisted sol-gel （UASG） method has a better re- versibility than the electrode synthesized by the sol-gel method.
