Studies were conducted under pot conditions to determine the comparative efficacy ofcarbofuran at 1 mg a.i./kg soil, bavistin at 1 mg a.i./kg soil, neem （Azadirachta indica） seed powder at 50 mg/kg soil, green mould （Trichoderma harzianum） at 50.0 ml/kg soil, rhizobacteria （Pseudomonas fluorescens） at 50.0 ml/kg soil against root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita-wilt fungus, Fusarium oxysporum disease complex on green gram, Vigna radiata cv ML-1108. All the treatments significantly improved the growth of the plants as compared carbofuran and A. indica seed powder increased plant growth to untreated inoculated plants. Analysis of data showed that and yield significantly more in comparison to bavistin and P. fluorescens. Carbofuran was highly effective against nematode, bavistin against fungus, A. indica seed powder against both the pathogens and both the bioagents were moderately effective against both the pathogens.

Aim: To assess the effect of aflatoxin on biochemical changes in the testis of mice and the possibility of ameliorationby vitamin E treatment. Methods: Adult male albino mice were orally administered with 25 or 50μg of aflatoxin/animal/day (750 or 1500 μg/kg body weight) for 45 days. The testis was isolated and processed for biochemical anal-ysis. Results; There was a significant, dose-dependent reduction in DNA, RNA, protein, sialic acid contents andthe activities of succinic dehydrogenase, adenosine triphosphatase and alkaline phosphatase in the testis of aflatoxin-treated mice as compared to the vehicle control. However, the acid phosphatase activity was significantly increased inthe aflatoxin-treated mice. Vitamin E (2 mg/animal/day) treatment significantly ameliorated the aflatoxin-inducedchanges, except the acid and alkaline phosphatase activities in the high dose group. Conclusion; Vitamin E treat-ment ameliorates the aflatoxin-induced changes in the testis of mice. (Asian J Androl 2001 Dec; 3: 305 - 309)

Phosphorus(P) deficiency limits the growth,development,and productivity of *** better understand the underlying mechanisms in P-deficiency tolerance and the role of Pup1 QTL in enhancing P use efficiency(PUE) for the development of P-efficient rice cultivars,a pair of contrasting rice genotypes(Pusa-44 and NIL-23) was applied to investigate the morpho-physio-biochemical and proteomic variation under P-starvation *** rice genotypes were grown hydroponically in a PusaRich medium with adequate P(16 mg/kg,+P) or without P(0 mg/kg,-P) for 30 d.P-starvation manifested a significant reductions in root and shoot biomass,shoot length,leaf area,total chlorophyll,and P,nitrogen and starch contents,as well as protein kinase *** stress increased root-to-shoot biomass ratio,root length,sucrose content,and acid phosphatase activity,particularly in the P-tolerant genotype(NIL-23).Comparative proteome analysis revealed several P metabolism-associated proteins(including OsCDPKs,OsMAPKs,OsCPKs,OsLecRK2,and OsSAPks) to be expressed in the shoot of NIL-23,indicating that multiple protein kinases were involved in P-starvation/deficiency ***,the up-regulated expression of OsrbcL,OsABCG32,OsSUS5,OsPoll-like B,and ClpC2 proteins in the shoot,and OsACA9,OsACA8,OsSPS2F,OsPP2C15,and OsBiP3 in the root of NIL-23,indicated their role in P-starvation stress control through the Pup1 QTL. Thus,our findings indicated that-P stress-responsive proteins,in conjunction with morpho-physio-biochemical modulations,improved PUE and made NIL-23 a P-deficiency tolerant genotype due to the introgression of the Pup1 QTL in the Pusa-44 background.

Overexpression of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) occurs in approximately 15–20% of breast cancer cases. HER2 is a member of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family with tyrosinase kinase activity, and its overexpression is linked to poor prognosis and shorter progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS). Among various treatment options, HER2-targeting monoclonal antibodies and tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) have mostly been applied in recent decades to treat HER2-positive (HER2^(+)) breast cancer patients. Although positive clinical outcomes were documented in both advanced disease and neoadjuvant settings, the development of resistance mechanisms to such approaches has been one of the major challenges with the continuous usage of these drugs. In addition, patients who experience disease progression after treatment with multiple HER2-targeted therapies often have limited treatment options. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recently approved a new TKI (i.e., tucatinib) for use in combination with immunotherapy and/or chemotherapeutic agents for the treatment of advanced-stage/metastatic HER2^(+) breast cancer. This review highlights recent updates on the efficacy of tucatinib-based therapeutic approaches in experimental models as well as in the clinical settings of HER2^(+) breast cancer.

Nanofluid Flows Within Porous Enclosures Using Non-Linear Boussinesq Approximation

In this paper,the Galerkin finite element method(FEM)together with the characteristic-based split(CBS)scheme are applied to study the case of the non-linear Boussinesq approximation within sinusoidal heating inclined enclosures filled with a non-Darcy porous media and *** enclosure has an inclination angle and its side-walls have varying sinusoidal temperature *** working fluid is a nanofluid that is consisting of water as a based nanofluid and Al2O3 as *** porous medium is modeled using the Brinkman Forchheimer extended Darcy *** obtained results are analyzed over wide ranges of the non-linear Boussinesq parameter 0≤ζ≤1,the phase deviation 00≤Φ≤1800,the inclination angle 00≤γ≤900,the nanoparticles volume fraction 0%≤φ≤4%,the amplitude ratio 0≤a≤1 and the Rayleigh number 104≤Ra≤*** results revealed that the average Nusselt number is enhanced by 0.73%,26.46%and 35.42%at Ra=104,105 and 106,respectively,when the non-linearBoussinesq parameter is varied from 0 to *** addition,rate of heat transfer in the case of a non-uniformly heating is higher than that of a uniformly ***-linear Boussinesq parameter rises the flow speed and heat transfer in an *** deviation makes clear changes on the isotherms and heat transfer rate on the right wall of an *** inclination angle varies the flow speed and it has a slight effect on heat transfer in an enclosure.

Mg and its alloys have continued to attract interest for several structural and super-sensitive applications because of their light weight and good combination of engineering *** for some of these applications,high plastic deformability is required to achieve desired component shapes and configurations;unfortunately,Mg and its alloys have low ***,the plastic behaviour of Mg and its alloys ranks among the most complex and difficult to reconcile in metallic material *** basically,the HCP crystal structure coupled with low stacking fault energies(SFE)are largely linked to the poor ductility exhibited by Mg *** innate material characteristics have regrettably limited wide spread applicability of Mg and its *** research efforts aimed at exploring processing strategies to make these alloys more amenable for high formability–mediated engineering use have been reported and still *** paper reviews the structural metallurgy of Mg alloys and its influence on mechanical behaviour,specifically,plasticity *** also concisely presents various processing routes(Alloying,Traditional Forming and Severe Plastic Deformation(SPD))which have been explored to enhance plastic deformability in Mg and its *** refinement and homogenising of phases,reducing CRSS between slip modes,twinning suppression to activate non-basal slip,and weakening and randomisation of the basal texture were observed as the formability enhancing strategies explored in the reviewed *** identifying the limitations of these strategies,further areas to be explored for enhancing plasticity of Mg alloys are highlighted.

Genetic diversity analysis of Lepidium sativum(Chandrasur) using inter simple sequence repeat(ISSR) markers

Lepidium sativum（commonly known as garden cress） belongs to the family Brassicaceae. It is a fastgrowing erect, annual herbaceous plant. Its seeds possess significant fracture healing, anti-asthmatic, anti-diabetic,hypoglycemic, nephrocurative and nephroprotective activities. In the present study, we assessed the genetic diversity of various genotypes of L. sativum using inter-simple sequence repeat（ISSR） markers. Out of 41 ISSR primers screened, 32 primers showed significant, clear and reproducible bands. A total of 510 amplified bands were obtained using 32 ISSR primers, out of which 422 bands were polymorphic and 88 bands were monomorphic. The percentage of polymorphism was found to be 82. A total of 35 unique alleles ranging insize from 200 to 2,900 bp were *** analysis based on unweighted pair-group method,arithmetic mean divided the 18 genotypes into two main clusters, with the first having only HCS-08 genotype of *** and other having all of the other 17 genotypes. The Jaccard similarity coefficient revealed a broad range32–72 % genetic relatedness among the 18 genotypes.
