Colorectal cancer(CRC)is one of the most common cancer worldwide and results from the accumulation of mutations and epimutations in colonic mucosa cells ultimately leading to cell proliferation and ***,CRC prognosis is still poor and the search of novel diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers is highly desired to prevent CRC-related *** present article aims to summarize the most recent findings concerning the use of either genetic or epigenetic(mainly related to DNA methylation)biomarkers for CRC diagnosis,prognosis,and response to *** large-scale DNA methylation studies suggest that CRC can be divided into several subtypes according to the frequency of DNA methylation and those of mutations in key CRC genes,and that this is reflected by different prognostic *** evidence suggests that the analysis of DNA methylation in blood or fecal specimens could represent a valuable non-invasive diagnostic tool for ***,a broad spectrum of studies indicates that the inter-individual response to chemotherapeutic treatments depends on both epigenetic modifications and genetic mutations occurring in colorectal cancer cells,thereby opening the way for a personalized ***,combining genetic and epigenetic data might represent the most promising tool for a proper diagnostic,prognostic and therapeutic approach.

The relationship between diabetes mellitus and Parkinson's disease has been described in several epidemiological studies over the 1960 s to *** studies have shown the possible functional link between insulin and dopamine,as there is strong evidence demonstrating the action of dopamine in pancreatic islets,as well as the insulin effects on feeding and cognition through central nervous system mechanism,largely independent of glucose *** used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus appear to be promising candidates for symptomatic and/or disease-modifying action in neurodegenerative diseases including Parkinson's disease,while an old dopamine agonist,bromocriptine,has been repositioned for the type 2 diabetes mellitus *** review will aim at reappraising the different studies that have highlighted the dangerous liaisons between diabetes mellitus and Parkinson's disease.

Parasitic isopods(family Bopyridae)and burrowing barnacles(family Trypetesidae)infesting hermit crabs were investigated from shallow subtidal collections made along the southeastern coast of Spain in 2009.A total of 713 specimens of Clibanarius erythropus(Latreille,1818)and 82 Calcinus tubularis(L.,1767)were *** shells and worm tubes inhabited by hermit crabs were collected by hand while snorkeling and were cracked to determine host species,size,sex and presence of *** species of bopyrid isopods were found on ***:the branchial parasite Bopyrissa fraiseii(Carayon,1943)and the abdominal parasite Parathelges cardonae Codreanu and Codreanu in Codreanu,*** all *** examined,Bopyrissa fraiseii was found on 0.6%of hermit crabs and *** was found on 0.3%.A redescription of *** is provided and the species is documented with light and scanning electron microscopy for the first *** Calcinus tubularis harbored parasitic isopods,but one specimen was parasitized by an unidentified rhizocephalan barnacle of the genus Septosaccus(1.2%).The burrowing barnacle Trypetesa lampas(Hancock,1849)was found associated with both hermit crab species and evidence of predation on host eggs by this barnacle is shown for the first *** lampas was found in 4.2%of the shells *** present study expands our knowledge of the parasite fauna of hermit crabs from the Mediterranean Sea and indicates that additional research is needed to determine the impact of trypetesid egg predators on hermit crab populations.

Genebanks are considered the"crown jewels"of research organizations,as they safeguard valuable plant genetic resources and address the emerging challenges posed by climate-related constraints(Anglin et al.,2018).Currently,7.4 million accessions have been conserved in 1750 gene banks *** these,only 10%are being used for crop improvement(Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture,2010).The limited availability of passport data and the challenge of characterizing trait attributes of accessions at large scale are some of the challenges to relate their true value(Tadesse et al.,2019).Obtaining traits such as agronomic or nutritional characteristics requires extensive field phenotyping and multiple site testing over several *** will create value with accurate evaluation of genotype-by-environmental variation in a given *** use of low-cost high-throughput phenotyping(HTP)methods to characterize the genotypic and phenotypic representations of genebank genetic resources,otherwise known as genebank phenomics,will help in understanding crops'potential for use in breeding programs with desirable traits.

FOXA1(also known as hepatocyte nuclear factor 3a,or HNF-3a)is a protein of the FKHD family transcription ***1 has been termed as a pioneer transcription factor due to its unique ability of chromatin remodeling in which the chromatin can be decompacted to allow genomic access by nuclear hormone receptors,including androgen receptor(AR)and estrogen receptor(ER).In this review,we discuss our current understanding of FOXA1 regulation of prostatic and non-prostatic AR-chromatin *** present an updated model wherein FOXA1:AR equilibrium in the nuclei defines prostatic AR binding profile,which is perturbed in prostate cancer with FOXA1 and/or AR ***,we discuss recent efforts in exploring new horizons of AR-independent functions of FOXA1 in prostate cancer and interesting directions to pursue in future studies.

Typically the selection of a residential heating system focuses on first costs rather than the economic or environmental life cycle *** use of life cycle assessment and life cycle cost methodologies in the design phase provide additional criteria for consideration when selecting a residential heating system.A comparative case study of a gas forced air and radiant solar heating system was conducted for a 3,000 square foot house located in Fort Collins,Colorado,*** initial results of an analysis of the life cycle assessment and the life cycle cost data indicated the gas forced air system was superior,both environmentally and *** data analysis pinpointed solar radiant system components for replacement in an effort to reduce both life cycle environmental emissions and *** analysis resulted in a hybrid radiant system using a high-efficiency gas-fired boiler,a choice that lowered both the solar radiant system’s costs and *** new system had slightly lower environmental impacts than both the gas forced air system and solar radiant *** the hybrid system had less impact on the life cycle cost with the hybrid system substantially more expensive then the gas-forced air alternative.
