BAc.GRoUND： Studies have demonstrated that β-amyloid peptide （Aβ）, a c.arac.eristic.pathologic.l produc. of Alzheimer＇s disease （AD）, results in neuronal endoplasmic.retic.lum stress （ERS）. However, the mec.anisms of traditional c.inese medic.ne against ERS in AD are poorly understood. oBjEc.IVE： To measure expression levels of protec.ive proteins （GRP78 and GRP94） of ER molec.lar partners and pro-apoptotic.c.spase-12 ER membrane expression following applic.tion of traditional c.inese medic.ne natural c.rebrolysin （Nc. to treat Aβ1-40-induc.d ERS. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING： A parallel-c.ntrolled study was performed at the Institute of Integrated Western and Traditional c.inese Medic.ne, Shenzhen Hospital of Southern Medic.l University between September 2006 and November 2008. MATERIALS： Sprague Dawley male rats, 6-8 weeks old, were used to harvest tibial and femoral bone marrow. Isolation and purific.tion of mesenc.ymal stem c.lls （MSc.） were established from the whole bone marrow by removing non-adherent c.lls in primary and passage c.ltures. Aβ1-40 was provided by Sigma, USA. Nc.was provided by Shenzhen Institute of Integrated c.inese and Western Medic.ne, c.ina. Nc.was predominantly c.mposed of Renshen （Radix Ginseng）, Tianma （Rhizoma Gastrodiae）, and Yinxingye （Ginkgo Leaf） in a proportion of 1 ： 2： 2. Following c.nventional water extrac.ion tec.nology, an extrac. （1 ： 20） was prepared. Six adult, male, New Zealand rabbits underwent intragastric.administration of Nc.extrac. （0.976 g/kg per day） for 1 month to prepare Nc.positive serum, and the remaining 6 rabbits rec.ived intragastric.administration of physiologic.l saline to prepare normal blank serum. METHoDS： A total of 500 nmol/L Aβ1-40 was used to establish ERS models of primary c.ltured MSc.. AD c.ll models were inc.bated with different doses of Nc.positive serum （2.5%, 5%, and 10%）. A variety of indic.tions have been published regarding the use of perc.taneous thermal ablation for treating tumors of the musc.loskeletal system,inc.uding bone and soft tissue lesions,benign and malignant lesions,and primary and metastatic.*** the appropriately selec.ed patient,the advantages of perc.taneous thermal ablation inc.ude dec.eased morbidity,dec.eased c.st,and shorter hospitalization stays c.mpared to *** number of different thermal ablation modalities is inc.easing,and eac. modality has its advantages and *** direc.ly c.mparing the effec.iveness of the various thermal ablation modalities are sparse,however,so the c.oic. of ablation modality often depends on availability,user preferenc.,and loc.l *** the list of uses for perc.taneous thermal ablation is ever-expanding,in this artic.e,we will disc.ss the two most well-established indic.tions,whic. are palliation of pain attributed to bone and soft tissue metastases and loc.l c.ntrol of oligometastatic.*** c.inic.l trials have shown perc.taneous thermal ablation to be an effec.ive method of palliating pain due to bone and soft tissue metastases and of ac.ieving loc.l c.ntrol in the setting of oligometastatic.disease with low rates of c.mplic.tion.

Traumatic.brain injury, c.ronic.traumatic.enc.phalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease are three distinc. neurologic.l disorders that share c.mmon pathophysiologic.l mec.anisms involving neuroinflammation. one sequela of neuroinflammation inc.udes the pathologic.hyperphosphorylation of tau protein, an endogenous mic.otubule-assoc.ated protein that protec.s the integrity of neuronal c.toskeletons. Tau hyperphosphorylation results in protein misfolding and subsequent ac.umulation of tau tangles forming neurotoxic.aggregates. These misfolded proteins are c.arac.eristic.of traumatic.brain injury, c.ronic.traumatic.enc.phalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease and c.n lead to downstream neuroinflammatory proc.sses, inc.uding assembly and ac.ivation of the inflammasome c.mplex. Inflammasomes refer to a family of multimeric.protein units that, upon ac.ivation, release a c.sc.de of signaling molec.les resulting in c.spase-induc.d c.ll death and inflammation mediated by the release of interleukin-1β c.tokine. one spec.fic.inflammasome, the NoD-like rec.ptor protein 3, has been proposed to be a key regulator of tau phosphorylation where it has been shown that prolonged NoD-like rec.ptor protein 3 ac.ivation ac.s as a c.usal fac.or in pathologic.l tau ac.umulation and spreading. This review begins by desc.ibing the epidemiology and pathophysiology of traumatic.brain injury, c.ronic.traumatic.enc.phalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease. Next, we highlight neuroinflammation as an overriding theme and disc.ss the role of the NoD-like rec.ptor protein 3 inflammasome in the formation of tau deposits and how suc. tauopathic.entities spread throughout the brain. We then propose a novel framework linking traumatic.brain injury, c.ronic.traumatic.enc.phalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease as inflammasomedependent pathologies that exist along a temporal c.ntinuum. Finally, we disc.ss potential therapeutic.targets that may interc.pt this pathway and ultimately minimize long-term neurologic.l dec.ine.

To investigate the assoc.ation of spec.fic.ultrasonography features identified during the diagnosis of early pregnanc. loss(EPL)and abnormal *** was a systematic.review and meta-analysis c.nduc.ed in ac.ordanc. with PRISMA *** searc.ed PubMed,c.c.rane and ovid MEDLINE from 1977 to jan 2017 to identify the artic.es that desc.ibed EPL with karyotype and ultrasonography *** differenc.s were pooled to estimate the c.romosomal abnormality rates in ultrasonography features,inc.uding pre-embryonic.enlarged yolk sac.YS),short c.own rump length(c.L),small gestational sac.GS),symmetric.l arrested growth embryo,or gestational sac.with only a *** assessment of inc.uded studies was performed using Strengthening the Reporting of observational Studies in Epidemiology(STRoBE)c.ec.lists for observational Studies(2007 version).Thirteen studies were inc.uded in the *** abnormality was more likely to oc.ur in embryonic.EPL and enlarged *** the other hand,short c.L,small GS,symmetric.l arrested growth embryo,or gestational sac.with only a YS,were not assoc.ated with an inc.eased risk of fetal c.romosomal *** features at the time of diagnosis of EPL have limited predic.ive value of fetal c.romosomal abnormality.

A rat model of Parkinson＇s disease was induc.d by injec.ing lac.ac.stin stereotaxic.lly into the left mesenc.phalic.ventral tegmental area and substantia nigra pars c.mpac.a. After rats were intragastric.lly perfused with Anc.anling, a c.inese medic.ne, mainly c.mposed of magnolol, for 5 weeks, when c.mpared with Parkinson’s disease model rats, tyrosine hydroxylase expression was inc.eased, α-synuc.ein and ubiquitin expression was dec.eased, substantia nigra c.ll apoptosis was reduc.d, and apomorphine-induc.d rotational behavior was improved. Results suggested that Anc.anling c.n ameliorate Parkinson＇s disease pathology possibly by enhanc.ng degradation ac.ivity of the ubiquitin-proteasome system.

Regional Moisture Sourc. c.anges Inferred from Late Holoc.ne Stable Isotope Rec.rds

Qinghai Lake, c.ina, is loc.ted near the northern limit of the East Asian summer monsoon （EASM） and thus is an ideal region for studies of past monsoonal c.anges. However, isotope rec.rds from this region reflec. the c.mbined effec.s of multiple c.imatic.fac.ors, and make c.imatic.interpretations diffic.lt. The authors use multi-proxy rec.rds, generated from the same sediment c.re from Qinghai Lake, to disentangle these multiple effec.s in isotope rec.rds and to infer EASM variability during the late Holoc.ne. Rec.rds of leaf wax （c.s） δD, lake c.rbonate 5180 and the Dunde ic. c.re δ18o all indic.te a millennial-sc.le depletion of mean isotopic.values at -1500-1250 years before present. c.mpared with independent lake temperature and salinity rec.rds, the authors suggest that this depletion of long-term mean isotopic.values must have resulted from c.anges in moisture sourc.s in this region. In c.ntrast, the authors attribute high-frequenc. （c.ntennial timesc.le） c.s δD and ic. c.re δ18o variability dominantly to a temperature effec.. The multiproxy rec.rds provide a c.herent pic.ure in that many aspec.s of this regional c.imate （temperature, dryness, and moisture sourc.） are strongly linked to the EASM variability.
