The objective of this study is to compare the ranking of the quality of e-commerce B2C portals in Brazil according to explicit criteria described in the article with the ranking according to the INFO 100 ranking. Theoretical research is first described, followed by the construction of eight self-established criteria of B2C portal quality measures and identification and compilation of requirements used by the I-Best, Opinia, E-bit and other institutes. After that, a portal quality evaluation is made by the web site content analysis;finally, a comparison of the rankings is presented. The obtained results showed that in spite of the lack of knowledge of the criteria adopted by INFO100 [1], there could be agreement with the criteria adopted in this study, because there was agreement with the results for the Ponto Frio portal. Therefore, it was concluded that the eight criteria used in this study can be useful in a quality analysis of B2C electronic portals.

Hepatic fibrosis is considered a common response to many chronic hepatic injuries. It is a multifunctional process that involves several cell types, cytokines, chemokines and growth factors leading to a disruption of homeostatic mechanisms that maintain the liver ecosystem. In spite of many studies regarding the development of fibrosis, the understanding of the pathogenesis remains obscure. The hepatic tissue remodeling process is highly complex, resulting from the balance between collagen degradation and synthesis. Among the many mediators that take part in this process, the components of the Renin angiotensin system （RAS） have progressively assumed an important role. Angiotensin （Ang） II acts as a profibrotic mediator and Ang-（1-7）, the newly recognized RAS component, appears to exert a counter-regulatory role in liver tissue. We briefly review the liver fibrosis process and current aspects of the RAS. This review also aims to discuss some experimental evidence regarding the participation of RAS mediators in the pathogenesis of liver fibrosis, focusing on the putative role of the ACE2-Ang-（1-7）- Mas receptor axis.

The monitoring of water quality in large coastal regions demands great analytical efforts through the collection of many samples, over long periods. Remote sensing is a reliable tool that can provide valuable information on the spatial and temporal variations of environmental parameters, particularly turbidity and chlorophyll a. The aim of the present research was to evaluate the spatial and temporal distribution of water quality from 2005 to 2017 along the north coast of São Paulo and its responses to the implementation of industrial developments and to variations in rainfall. Fifty-two MODIS images were used, showing concentrations of chlorophyll a and turbidity, in the dry season and wet season, from 2005 to 2017. The results showed that dilution processes (due to rainfall) control chlorophyll a concentrations. However, a notable increase in concentrations could be identified after the installation of some of the developments in the region, particularly roads and ports. Turbidity was also shown to be affected by dilution processes, and during the wet season this parameter presented lower values. No effect in the results of turbidity could be identified from the installation of roads or ports, showing that vegetation cover exerts an important control on the erosional processes.

AIM： To study the role of an insertion/deletion polymorphism in the pepsinogen C （PGC） gene, an effective marker for terminal differentiation of the stomach mucosa, in the susceptibility to the development of gastric lesions. METHODS： The study was performed with 99 samples of known gastric lesions and 127 samples without evidence of neoplastic disease. PCR was employed and the 6 polymorphic alleles were amplified： Allele 1 （510 bp）, Allele 2 （480 bp）, Allele 3/4 （450/460 bp）, Allele 5 （400 bp） and Allele 6 （310 bp）. RESULTS： Our results revealed that Allele 6 carriers seemed to have protection against the development of any gastric lesion （OR = 0.34; P 〈 0.001）, non-dysplastic lesions associated with gastric adenocarcinoma such as atrophy or intestinal metaplasia （OR = 0.28; P 〈 0.001） or invasive GC （OR = 0.39; P = 0.004）. CONCLUSION： Our study reveals that the Allele 6 carrier status has a protective role in the development of gastric lesions, probably due to its association with higher expression of PGC. Moreover, the frequency of Allele 6 carriers in the control group is far higher than that obtained in Asian populations, which might represent a genetic gap between Caucasian and Asian populations.

Major resections of bone tumors of the head and neck, owing to their small dimensions and their proximity to the organs in this region, cause important functional and aesthetic problems that significantly compromise patients’ quality of life. Therefore, therapeutic planning should always extend beyond the resection to include functional and aesthetic reconstruction, preferably immediately. Microsurgical reconstruction represents a significant advance, but has not yet been perfected. Rapid prototyping (RP) comes as a new technology for the purpose of assisting the surgeon in the visual and tactile aspects of surgery, providing diagnostic accuracy and increasing the success of surgical planning. The authors demonstrate the technological advances in the manufacture of customized mandibular prostheses with the assistance of RP and practical applications of these methods.

Sea cucumbers are highly used not only for the production of the bêche-de-mer, but also recent studies have been showing the high potential of these marine invertebrates on the pharmaceutical industry, as they are rich in bioactive compounds with important functions. Stichopus regalis extracts (1 mg·mL-1) were used in antioxidant, antimicrobial and antitumor assays. The lipid profile was also evaluated. No significant antioxidant activity was detected in both methanolic and dichloromethane extracts. The methanolic fraction showed the highest antimicrobial potential against Candida albicans with an IC50 of 475.4 μg·mL-1. In the antitumor assays, the dichloromethane fraction showed a high potential for both cell lines, as revealed by the MTT method. The total fat content was 3.63% ± 0.11% and the fatty acid profile revealed the highest amount in C16:0 (9.43% ± 0.77%), C18:0 (12.43% ± 0.83%), C18:1 ω7 (5.63% ± 0.33%), EPA (12.49% ± 0.15%), DHA (7.35% ± 0.02%), ARA (19.29% ± 0.14%) and a ω3/ω6 ratio of 1.078. These findings led us to suggest the potential use of S. regalis as a new source of bioactive compounds with pharmacological potential and its nutritional benefits for human health.

AIM To evaluated the association of the risk factors and polymorphisms in MTHFR C677 T, MTHFR A1298 C, MTR A2756 G and MTRR A66 G *** Patients with cirrhosis(n = 116), hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)(n = 71) and controls(n = 356) were included. Polymerase chain reaction followed by enzymatic digestion and allelic discrimination technique real-time PCR techniques were used for analysis. MINITAB-14.0and SNPstats were utilized for statistical analysis. RESULTS Showed that age ≥ 46 years(OR = 10.31; 95%CI: 5.66-18.76; P del(OR = 3.37; 95%CI: 1.52-7.50; P = 0.014), recessive model(OR = 3.04; 95%CI: 1.43-6.47; P = 0.0051) and additive model(OR = 1.71; 95%CI: 1.16-2.52; P = 0.0072) was associated with HCC, as well as MTR A2756 G in the additive model(OR = 1.68; 95%CI: 1.01-2.77; P = 0.047), and MTRR A66 G in the codominant model(OR = 3.26; 95%CI: 1.54-6.87; P del(OR = 2.55; 95%CI: 1.24-5.25; P = 0.007) and overdominant model(OR = 3.05; 95%CI: 1.66-5.62; P del(OR = 1.54; 95%CI: 1.02-2.33; P = 0.042) and smokers who presented at least one polymorphic allele for MTRR A66G(OR = 1.71; 95%CI: 0.77-3.82; P = 0.0051) showed increased risk for cirrhosis. There was no association between clinical parameters and polymorphisms. CONCLUSION Age ≥ 46 years, alcohol habit and MTR A2756 G, MTHFR A1298 C and MTRR A66 G polymorphisms are associated with an increased risk of HCC development; age ≥ 46 years, tobacco habit and the MTR A2756 G polymorphism are associated with cirrhosis.
