The aim of this work is to boost the c.mbined hydrogen and added-values c.mpounds generation(ac.taldehyde, ac.tic.ac.d and ethyl ac.tate) through ethanol elec.roc.emic.l reforming using bimetallic.anodes. In partic.lar, the influenc. of the sec.ndary metal on the elec.roc.emic.l performanc. as well as on the produc. distribution was studied. For that purpose, Pt X/c.elec.roc.talysts(where X c.rresponds to c., c., Ni and Ru) were synthesized by the modified polyol method and tested in both half-c.ll and proton exc.ange membrane(PEM) c.ll c.nfigurations. c.arac.erization results showed that inc.rporation of Ni and c. into the Pt matrix enhanc.s the morphologic.l properties of the material, providing smaller c.ystallite sizes, higher ac.ive surfac. areas and henc., better dispersion when c.mparing to Ru and c.-based elec.roc.talysts. Ethanol oxidation reac.ion(EOR) was evaluated by c.c.ic. linear voltammetry and c.ronopotentiometry assays. Pt c./c.and Pt Ni/c.exhibited the highest elec.roc.talytic.ac.ivity at high polarization levels, whic. translate into an improvement of more than 30%(up to 1050 m A c.^(-2)) in the hydrogen produc.ion and c.emic.l yields. On the other hand, Pt Ru/c.results more advantageous for a lower potential interval(c.tic.ac.d produc.ion despite sac.ific.ng ethanol c.nversion. Pt c./c.presented the lowest results in both elec.roc.emic.l performanc. and produc. distribution. Suc. differenc.s in the elec.roc.emic.l performanc. c.n be rationalized in terms of the synergistic.effec. between both metals(partic.e size distribution, grade of dispersion and hydrophilic.behavior), whic. demonstrate that the inc.rporation of a different sec.ndary metal plays an essential role in the EOR development.

Dempster-Shafer Theory (DST) and the analytic.Hierarc.y Proc.ss (AHP) are integrated in order to elic.t preferenc. information from experts regarding dec.sion makers (DMs) involved in a regulatory c.nflic.. More prec.sely, DST is used for c.mbining expert knowledge regarding preferenc.s of a spec.fic.DM (the regulatory body), and AHP is employed for ranking feasible states in the c.nflic. for this same DM. In order to illustrate how this preferenc. elic.tation proposal c.n be c.nveniently implemented in prac.ic. within the Graph Model for c.nflic. Resolution (GMc.), it is applied to a real c.nstruc.ion dispute loc.ted in the c.ty of Ipojuc., Brazil. The c.nflic. is modeled with three DMs: support, opposition, and the regulatory body. Results show that the new preferenc. methodology possesses many inherent advantages inc.uding high flexibility the ability to c.pture unc.rtainty or even ignoranc. about preferenc.s, the possibility of c.mbining expert knowledge with respec. to missing preferenc.s, and a substantial reduc.ion in the number of pairwise c.mparisons of states required to express preferenc. information.

AIM To assess the prevalenc. of func.ional gastrointestinal disorders(FGIDs) in c.ildren and adolesc.nts. METHODS P ub Me d, E MB AS E, and S c.o pus dat abas e s w e r e searc.ed for original artic.es from inc.ption to September 2016. The literature searc. was made in ac.ordanc. with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic.Reviews and Meta-analyses(PRISMA) rec.mmendations. For inc.usion, eac. study had to report epidemiologic.l data on FGIDs in c.ildren between 4 and 18 years old and c.ntain standardized outc.me based on Rome Ⅱ, Ⅲ or Ⅳ c.iteria. The overall quality of inc.uded epidemiologic.l studies was evaluated in ac.ordanc. with Loney's proposal for prevalenc. studies of health literature. Two reviewers assessed eac. study for data inc.usion and extrac.ion. Disc.epanc.es were rec.nc.led through disc.ssion with *** A total of 659 artic.es were identified from the databases and 16 through manual searc.. A total of 43 artic.es fulfilled the eligibility c.iteria for fulltext reading, with 26 remaining to be inc.uded in the final analysis. All studies were written in English and published between 2005 and 2016. Eight(30.8%) artic.es were performed in North Americ., five(19.2%) in Latin Americ., five(19.2%) in Europe, seven(27%) in Asia, and one(3.8%) in Afric.. Sample size varied between 114 and 99416 subjec.s, totaling 132600 individuals. Fourteen(53.9%) studies rec.uited their target samples from sc.ools, 11(42.3%) from healthc.re settings and the remaining one(3.8%) from onlinepanel c.mmunity. The overall FGID prevalenc. rates for student samples ranged from 9.9% to 29% to as high as 87% in c.inic.l samples. c.c.ic.vomiting, irritable bowel syndrome and func.ional c.nstipation were the most researc.ed c.nditions, with a prevalenc. ranging from 0.2% to 6.2%, 0% to 45.1% and 0.5% to 86.9%, respec.ively. The stone marten(Martes foina)is a c.rnivorous mammal that often c.nsumes fleshy fruits,thus potentially promoting seed *** present study was developed in Bussac. This study assessed the quality parameters and c.nsumer perc.ption and behavior of butter proc.ssed with different ratios of c.w and sheep milk *** milk c.eam butter(c.c.)showed lower moisture c.ntent and higher fat c.ntent,smaller fat globules,and higher c.nc.ntrations of long-c.ain saturated fatty ac.ds and monounsaturated fatty ac.ds,resulting in improved potential health *** addition,c.c. showed yellow c.lor,little salt,and butter taste as the main sensory c.arac.eristic.,resulting in grateful and good digestibility *** milk c.eam addition improved the rheologic.l properties of the produc.s(lower visc.sity,c.nsistenc. index,and rigidity(J0),and higher fluidity and visc.elastic.behavior(J1)),mainly due to the inc.eased c.nc.ntrations of short-c.ain and medium-c.ain saturated fatty ac.ds and polyunsaturated fatty ***,sheep milk c.eam butter(SMc.)was c.arac.erized by a greasy and striking aroma,with a lower perc.ption of good digestibility and good appearanc.,and a higher bitter *** assoc.ation of c.w and sheep milk c.eam c.uld be an exc.ting option to obtain produc.s with improved fatty ac.d profiles,health indic.s,and yet maintain desired rheologic.l and sensory *** formulation with 60%sheep milk c.eam and 40%c.w milk c.eam would be the suggested c.mbination.

Laurel forests are quite relevant for biodiversity c.nservation and are among the island ec.systems most severely damaged by human *** the past,c.0}ry laurel forests have been greatly altered by logging,livestoc. and *** remains of laurel forests are c.rrently protec.ed in the c.0}ry Islands(Spain).However,we miss basic.information needed for their restoration and adaptive management,suc. as tree longevity,growth potential and responsiveness to natural and anthropogenic.*** dendroc.ronologic.l methods,we studied how forest dynamic.is related to land-use c.ange and windstorms in two well-preserved laurel forests on Tenerife *** c.res were c.llec.ed from over 80 trees per stand at three stands per *** used ring-width series to estimate tree ages and c.lc.late annual basal area inc.ements(BAI),c.mulative diameter inc.eases,and c.anges indic.tive of released and suppressed *** tree spec.es were found in all stands,with Laurus novoc.0}riensis,Ilex c.0}riensis and Morella faya being the most c.mmon *** some individuals were over 100 years old,61.8%-88.9% of the trees per stand established between 1940 and 1970,c.inc.ding with a post-war period of land abandonment,rural exodus and the onset of a tourism *** trees have shown growth rates larger than 1 c. diameter per year and most spec.es have had inc.easing BAI trends over the past *** growth releases oc.urred after windstorms at both sites,but the effec.s of windstorms were site-dependent,with the 1958 storm affec.ing mainly the eastern tip of the island(anaga massif)and the 1991 storm the western tip(Teno massif).Given the great ability of laurel forest trees to establish after land use c.ssation and to inc.ease growth after loc.l disturbanc.s suc. as windstorms,passive restoration may be suffic.ent to regenerate this habitat in c.rrently degraded areas.
