SeVe： automatic tool for verification of security protocols

Security protocols play more and more important roles with wide use in many applications nowadays. Cur- rently, there are many tools for specifying and verifying secu- rity protocols such as Casper/FDR, ProVerif, or AVISPA. In these tools, the intruder＇s ability, which either needs to be specified explicitly or set by default, is not flexible in some circumstances. Moreover, whereas most of the existing tools focus on secrecy and authentication properties, few supports privacy properties like anonymity, receipt freeness, and coer- cion resistance, which are crucial in many applications such as in electronic voting systems or anonymous online transac- tions. In this paper, we introduce a framework for specifying security protocols in the labeled transition system （LTS） se- mantics model, which embeds the knowledge of the par- ticipants and parameterizes the ability of an attacker. Us- ing this model, we give the formal definitions for three types of privacy properties based on trace equivalence and knowledge reasoning. The formal definitions for some other security properties, such as secrecy and authentica- tion, are introduced under this framework, and the veri- fication algorithms are also given. The results of this pa- per are embodied in the implementation of a SeVe mod- ule in a process analysis toolkit （PAT） model checker, which supports specifying, simulating, and verifying se- curity protocols. The experimental results show that a SeVe module is capable of verifying many types of secu- rity protocols and complements the state-of-the-art securityverifiers in several aspects. Moreover, it also proves the abil- ity in building an automatic verifier for security protocols re- lated to privacy type, which are mostly verified by hand now.

LiMn_2O_4/CNTs and LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_4/CNTs Nanocomposites as High-Performance Cathode Materials for Lithium-Ion Batteries

The demand of higher energy density and higher power capacity of lithium（Li）-ion secondary batteries has led to the search for electrode materials whose capacities and performance are better than those available today. Carbon nanotubes（CNTs）, with their unique properties such as 1D tubular structure, high electrical and thermal conductivities, and extremely large surface area, have been used as materials to prepare cathodes for Li-ion batteries. The structure and morphology of CNTs were analyzed by X-ray diffraction（XRD）, scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, and transmission electron microscopy（TEM）. The functional groups on the purified CNT surface such as –COOH, –OH were characterized by Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy. The electrode materials were fabricated from LiMn2O4（LMO）, doped spinel LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4, and purified CNTs via solid-state reaction. The structure and morphology of the electrode were characterized using XRD, SEM, and TEM. Finally, the efficiency of the electrode materials using CNTs was evaluated by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.

Opportunistic bacteremia in adult HIV-infected patients is a normal co-infectious condition caused by Gram-negative bacilli. Respiratory infections, including cough, shortness of breath, and chest pain and skin infection with eruptions, pustules and itchiness, are common complaints in the setting of late HIV infection. The variety of infections ranges from mild, self-limited viral, bacteremia and fungal infections to severe, life-threatening demanding urgent care and hospitalization. Varicella pneumonia, for instance, is the most severe complication of chickenpox in HIV infected adults, potentially refractory, fulminant respiratory failure can ensue. Patients with impaired immune status and chronic lung disease are at an increased risk. In the United States as well as in Vietnam, bacterial/viral pneumonia and skin infection are the two most common HIV-associated conditions. While globally the incidence of opportunistic infection has decreased since the introduction of highly active antiretroviral therapy during the last 3 decades, HIV-associated diseases remain a significant source of mortality, thus any manifestation must be taken seriously. This study will present the most common HIV-related pulmonary and skin infections and provide an overview of the epidemiology, characteristic clinical and chest radiograph findings, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention globally as well in Vietnam. Though the extensive efforts of the Vietnamese Government during last decade contributed to a valuable decrease, yet epidemic in Vietnam still remains high, ranking Vietnam 5th in the South-East region. The second part of the study focuses on a unique and severe HIV case report of a 35-year-old man, with a rare form of pneumonia caused by Acitenobacter spp. concomitant with a prolonged and disseminating skin infection. Fabrication and Characterization of Multi-layer Heat Mirror with Photocatalytic Properties

A novel TiO2（5）/TiO2（buffer）/Ti（4）/Ag（3）/Ti（2）/TiO2（1） multi-layer film coating with corning glass is designed and fabricated by a dc magnetron sputtering method as a renovation of the well-known TiO2/Ti/Ag/Ti/TiO2 system in order to obtain a heat mirror system with photocatalytic properties due to sufficient thickness of the Ti02 layer. The outer TiO2 layer is fabricated in two steps, possibly claimed as two layers TiO2（5） and TiO2（buuer）, among which TiO2（buffer） the 70-nm-thick layer deposited in poor oxygen effectively minimizes the oxidation toward its neighbor Ti（4） layer. The optimal total thickness of the TiO2（5） and TiO（buffer） di-layer is found to be 300nm to yield a highly photo-catalytic property of the film without affecting the optical properties considerably. This multi-layer film can transmit light of above 75-85% in the visible spectrum （380 ≤ λ≤ 760 nm） and reflect radiation of above 90% in the infrared spectrum （ λ≥760 nm）. Such multi-layer coatings are strongly recommended not only as promising transparent heat mirrors but also as photo-catalytic films for architectural window coatings.
