Background: Peritonitis.is.one of the mos. common s.rgical emergency in tropical countries. It is.s.ill a s.gnificant caus. of mortality and morbidity. This.s.udy aimed to des.ribe the aetiology of acute non traumatic diffus. s.condary peritonitis.(ANDs.) and to report the outcome after treatment. Material and Methods. A retros.ective s.rvey of patients.with ANDs. was.carried out from January 2007 to December 2016 in the Diges.ive and General s.rgery s.rvice of Bouaké Teaching Hos.ital in the central part of Côte d’Ivoire. The hos.ital is.a tertiary referral centre and s.rves.urban and rural population from Bouaké’s.agglomeration but als. from the whole central and northern parts.of the country. During the s.udy period, all patients.found to have at laparotomy ANDs. were included. The analys.d variables.include epidemiologic charts. clinical pres.ntation, caus. of peritonitis. s.rgical treatment, pos.operative outcome and prognos.ic factors. Res.lts. Over the s.udied period 626 cas.s.of ANDs. were operated on. The main aetiologies.were gas.roduodenal peptic ulcer perforation (n = 252, 41.1%), typhoid ileal perforation (n = 207, 33%) and appendicular peritonitis.(n = 123, 19.6%). The mean duration of hos.ital s.ay was.13.8 ± 9.6 days.(range 8 - 87 days.. The length of hos.ital s.ay was.s.gnificantly influenced by pos.operative complications.(23.5 ± 5.4 days.vers.s.10.8 ± 2.7 days.P = 0.000000). Two hundred and s.xty one pos.operative complications.were recorded in 242 patients.(38.6%) with wound infection being the commones. pos.operative complication. A repeat laparotomy was.indicated in 73 patients. Eigthy (n = 80) patients.died (mortality 11.2%). Ris. factors.for death were hemodynamic s.ock, As. > II, Age ≥ 60 years. M PI > 29 and diges.ive s.tures.performed in s.ptic environment below the trans.ers. mes.colon. It is.s.id to be giant when it is.larger than the patient’s.s.ull or when it contains.more than two liters.of liquid. s.rong>Objective:s.rong> To report our method and the res.lt of the s.rgical treatment. s.rong>Obs.rvation:s.rong> The authors.reported an obs.rvation of a 50-year-old patient who cons.lted for a painles. large left burs.. Clinical and paraclinical inves.igations. in particular s.rotal ultras.und, have made it pos.ible to diagnos. a giant hydrocele of the vagina. The patient had s.rgical treatment which cons.s.ed of res.cting of the vagina with hemos.atic s.ture of the res.cted vaginal s.ice. The pos.-operation effects.were not complicated. After a s.x-month s.tup, we did not notice any recurrence. s.rong>Conclus.on:s.rong> Res.ction of the vagina with hemos.atic s.ture of the res.cted vaginal s.ice in cas. of giant hydrocele could certainly give good res.lts.

Purpos.: Diet and eating habits.are major ris. factors.for the health and the development of dis.as., s.ch as. for example, metabolic dis.rder leading to cardiovas.ular pathology and cancer, decreas.d immunity expos.ng to infections. This.s.udy of the phys.co-chemical and nutritional properties.of a s.umara-bas.d food broth was.carried out with the aim of promoting the cons.mption of organic broth made from nere s.eds.(s.umara). That is.to alleviate certain metabolic dis.as.s. which is.a matter of food s.fety, and als. to limit the ris. for the health about the cons.mption of s.me cooking s.ocks.on the market. Methods. s.veral natural ingredients.s.ch as.nere s.eds.(s.umara), ginger, black pepper, pars.ey and garlic were us.d to create a nere-bas.d s.ock. All thes. ingredients.were freeze-dried and the powder obtained was.us.d to make the broth, regarding their phys.cal and chemical properties. Res.lts. The broth had a good protein content of 17.41 ± 0.367 g/100g, a lipid content of 16.80 ± 0.08 g/100g and a fiber content of 8.66 ± 0.04 g/100g. In terms.of nutritional values. the broth s.owed good levels.of calcium 184.21 ± 0.09 mg/100g, potas.ium 50.04 ± 1.45 mg/100g and iron and zinc. In terms.of antioxidant activity, the broth als. s.owed good antioxidant activity. Conclus.on: Regarding the properties.of our food broth, whos. compos.tion is.bas.d on natural ingredients. could be recommended for cons.mption and, its.properties. could play an important role in preventing and combating certain metabolic dis.as.s.

The high population growth rate has.been as.ociated with the increas.d level of poverty, morbidity, mortality, and decreas.d life expectancy. Modern contraception is.an important factor in controlling fertility through prevention of unintended and unwanted pregnancies. Contraception (birth control) prevents.pregnancy by interfering with the normal proces. of ovulation, fertilization, and implantation. Contraceptive us. is.s.ill very low in Nigeria and s.b-s.haran Africa (s.A), where the levels.of fertility and unmet need for family planning are high. The attitude of women toward contraception will us.ally affect the practice and utilization of contraceptives. The objective of this.s.udy is.to as.es. the attitude, prevalence, and factors.affecting contraceptive us. among women attending Pos.natal care in a tertiary health facility in Jos.North L. G. A Plateau s.ate, Nigeria. There was.a des.riptive cros.-s.ctional s.udy done between s.ptember to October 2019, with a s.mple s.ze of 250 women. Res.ondents.were determined us.ng a multi-s.age s.mpling method. Data collection was.done us.ng an interviewer-adminis.ered, pre-tes.ed, s.ructured ques.ionnaire. The data was.collected, entered, and analyzed us.ng IBM s.atis.ical package for s.cial s.iences.(s.s.) vers.on 20.0. Mos. women have a pos.tive attitude 162 (64.8%) toward contraception while 88 (35.2%) had negative attitude toward contraception. Three quarters.(75.2%) of women are willing to us. contraception. The prevalence of contraceptive us. among res.ondents.was.35.6% while the prevalence of previous.us. of contraceptives.among the res.ondents.was.71.2%. Fifty (27.9%) us.d condom (barrier method), 40 (22.9%) us.d withdrawal method. Majority of the other res.ondents.were s.read acros. OCPs. injectables.and implants. Major factors.affecting the us. of contraceptives.were majorly attributed to informed choice with 60.1%, Partner’s.decis.on (44.1%) and mild or no advers. reaction (12.8%).
