Diabetes is a non-communicable ailment that has adverse effects on the individual’s overall well-being and productivity in *** main objective of this study was to examine the empirical literature concerning the association between diabetes and poverty and the accessibility and utilization of medical care services among diabetic *** diabetes literature was explored using a literature review *** review revealed that diabetes is an ailment that affects all individuals irrespective of socioeconomic status;however,its prevalence is high in low-income ***,despite the higher prevalence of diabetes in developing countries compared with developed countries,diabetes is not a poor man’s ailment because it affects individuals of all *** the number of diabetic patients that access and utilize diabetes medical care services has increased over the years,some personal and institutional factors still limit patients’access to the use of diabetes ***,there is a lacuna in the diabetes literature concerning the extent of utilization of available healthcare services by diabetic patients.

Experiments indicate that a catalytic amount of Cul plays an important role in the siloxane-mediated Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions with the direct use of organolithium *** of organolithium to the siloxane transfer agent generates an organosilicon *** calculations indicate that Cul initially accelerates the Si-Pd(Ⅱ) transmetalation of the organosilicon intermediate by the formation of CuI_(2)^(-).Subsequently,CuI_(2)^(-)works as a shuttle between the Si-Cu(Ⅰ) and Cu(Ⅰ)-Pd(Ⅱ)transmetalation processes.

Parietochloris incisa is an arachidonic acid rich snow green alga. The main physiological profiles, such as ash free dry weight (AFDW), chlorophyll, carotenoid, protein and total fatty acids (TFA), in this alga exposed to old culture supernatant (OCS) at the decline phase or its crude ethyl acetate extracts (CEAE) were investigated by using tubular photobioreactors of different diameters. Results showed that both OCS and CEAE had strong inhibitory effect on the above physiological parameters. The longer the culture was exposed to OCS and the more CEAE were added into the algal culture, the more the above physiological properties were inhibited. Arachidonic acid (AA), the dominant component of fatty acids in this alga, was also seriously inhibited with respect to total TFA, AFDW of cell mass, or culture volume, due to a probable reduction of enzymes activities catalyzing chain elongation from C18:1ω9 to AA. These results incontestably evidenced that some CEAE dissolving substances existing in OCS, like auto inhibitors, inhibited P. incisa growth through feedback. Hence, any efficient removal of auto inhibitors from algal culture to decrease their bioactivity could be good for maximal production of desired products like AA.

We model analytically a relativistic problem consisting of two quasi-particles each with mass m in close orbit around a static Schwarzschild black hole with mass M = 1 situated at the center of mass of the system. The angular momentum l of the system is taken to be 2. We model the mass density of the orbiting particles as a δ-function and we assume that there are no deformations. To model the system, we apply the second-order differential equation obtained elsewhere for a dynamic thin matter shell on a Schwarzschild background. As it is the case in this paper, the framework on which the equation was obtained is Bodi-Sachs. The only change in the equation is that now the quasi-normal mode parameter represents the particle’s orbital frequency from which we are able to analytically compute the gravitational radiation emitted by the system at null infinity. We note that in a real astrophysical scenario the dynamics of the particles paths will be very dynamic and complicated and that the analytical methods used here will have to be developed further to accommodate that.

Qualitative and quantitative phytochemical analysis of selected mosses with different alcoholic solvents

This study was conducted to investigate the qualitative and quantitative phytochemical content of the crude extracts of Archidium ohioense,Pelekium gratum,and Hyophila involuta with different alcoholic solvents(ethanol,methanol,Seaman's Schnapps,fresh oil-palm wine,and fresh Raffia-palm wine).The mosses were collected from their natural populations on the central campus of the Obafemi Awolowo University,Ile-Ife,*** yield of the extracts was weighed for all the solvents,and the qualitative and quantitative evaluations of the extracts were carried out using standard *** results of phytochemical analysis of the crude extracts from the mosses showed the presence of saponins,cardiac glycosides,triterpenes,alkaloids,flavonoids,and *** quantitative phytochemical analysis of the crude extracts showed that ethanolic extracts of Hyophila involuta had the highest flavonoid content(288.37±0.10 mg RE/g),and Raffiapalm-wine extracts of Hyophila involuta had the highest saponin content(224.70±0.02 mg/g),while the methanolic extract of Archidium ohioense had the highest cardiac glycosides content(63.71±0.14 mg/g),and the Raffia-palm wine extract of Hyophila involuta had the highest alkaloids content(102.50±0.12 mg/g).Raffia-and oil-palm wines were observed to be the most effective solvents for all the mosses studied,followed by Seaman's Schnapp,while methanol and ethanol were less *** study concluded that the extracts of the mosses studied contain pharmacologically active constituents that can be used for therapeutic purposes.

We analytically model a relativistic problem consisting of a point-particle with mass m in close orbit around a stationary Schwarzschild black hole with mass M = 1 using the null-cone formalism when l = 2. We use the -function to model the matter density of the particle. To model the whole problem, we apply the second order differential equation obtained elsewhere for a dynamic thin matter shell around a Schwarzschild black hole. The only thing that changes on the equation is the quasi-normal mode parameter which now represent the orbital frequency of the particle. We compare our results with that of the standard 5.5 PN formalism and found that there is a direct proportionality factor that relates the two results, i.e. the two formalisms.

Cloud computing plays a very important role in the development of business and competitive edge for many organisations including SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises). Every cloud user continues to expect maximum service, and a critical aspect to this is cloud security which is one among other specific challenges hindering adoption of the cloud technologies. The absence of appropriate, standardised and self-assessing security frameworks of the cloud world for SMEs becomes an endless problem in developing countries and can expose the cloud computing model to major security risks which threaten its potential success within the country. This research presents a security framework for assessing security in the cloud environment based on the Goal Question Metrics methodology. The developed framework produces a security index that describes the security level accomplished by an evaluated cloud computing environment thereby providing the first line of defence. This research has concluded with an eight-step framework that could be employed by SMEs to assess the information security in the cloud. The most important feature of the developed security framework is to devise a mechanism through which SMEs can have a path of improvement along with understanding of the current security level and defining desired state in terms of security metric value.
