AIm:To investigate cell cycle proteins in chronic hepatitis C virus infection in order to analyze their role in the process of hepatocyte transformation and to characterize their prognostic properties. mETHODS:Subjects of the current study included 50 cases of chronic hepatitis C(CHC) without cirrhosis,30 cases of CHC with liver cirrhosis(LC) ,and 30 cases of hepatitis C-related hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) admitted to the Department of Hepato-Gastroenterology,Theodor Bilharz Research Institute(TBRI) ,Giza,*** wedge liver biopsies,taken during laparoscopic cholecystectomy,were also included as normal *** investigations including urine and stool analysis,liver function tests and prothrombin concentration;serologic markers for viral hepatitis and ultrasonography were done for all cases of the study together with immunohistochemical analysis using primary antibodies against Cyclin D1,Cyclin E,p21,p27 and Rb/p105 proteins. RESULTS:Normal wedge liver biopsies didn't express Cyclin E or Rb/p105 immunostaining but show positive staining for Cyclin D1,p21 and *** D1 expressed nuclear staining that was sequentially increased from CHC to LC(Pmeanwhile,Cyclin E revealed nuclear positivity only in the case of HCCs patients that was directly correlated to Rb/p105 *** expression of p21 and p27 was significantly increased in CHC and LC cases compared to normal controls and HCCs with no significant difference between well-and poorlydifferentiated tumors.p21 showed only a nuclear pattern of staining,while,p27 presented with either cytoplasmic and/or nuclear reactivity in all studied *** analysis revealed a direct relation between Cyclin D1 and p21 in CHC cases(P<0.001) ,between Cyclin D1 and Cyclin E in HCCs(P<0.01);however,an inverserelationship was detected between Cyclin D1 and p21 or p27(P<0.001) and between p21 and Rb/p105(P<0.05) in HCCs. Introduction: There are extensive people exposures to paraquat (PQ) herbicide resulting in human health hazards. Aim of the Work: To compare the beneficial neuroprotective effects of hesperidin and benfotiamine on paraquat (PQ)-induced spinal cord neurotoxic effects in rats. materials and methods: Rats were divided into 4 groups as following: control, paraquat (PQ 20.8 mg/kg, oral gavage (e.g.)), paraquat + benfotiamine (50 mg/kg, oral gavage (e.g.)) and paraquat + hesperidin (40 mg/kg, oral gavage (e.g.)). PQ is given as the previous dose. Rats are treated 6 days per week. Results: There was a significant increased mean value of malondialdehyde associated with a significant reduction in the content of reduced glutathione and antioxidant enzymes activities associated with a significant increase in Serum phosphorylated neurofilament-H, neurospecific enolase and s100 levels were recorded and significant spinal cord histopathological changes in paraquat treated group as compared to their corresponding values in the control group and immunohistochemical examination confirmed these results. Upon supplementation with benfotiamine and hesperidin to paraquat treated rats, there was a significant decrease in the mean values of malondialdehyde associated with a marked increase in the content of reduced glutathione and antioxidant enzymes activities associated with a significant decrease in Serum phosphorylated neurofilament-H, neurospecific enolase and s100 levels were also recorded with significant improvement of spinal cord architecture when compared with the paraquat treated group. Conclusion: The use of benfotiamine and hesperidin produced a significant protection against all of the above-mentioned changes.

Self assembled quantum dots have shown a great promise as a leading candidate for infrared detection at room temperature. In this paper, a theoretical model of the absorption coefficient of quantum dot devices is presented. Both of bound to bound absorption and bound to continuum absorption are taken into consideration in this model. This model is based on the effective mass theory and the Non Equilibrium Greens Function (NEGF) formalism. NEGF formalism is used to calculate the bound to continuum absorption coefficient. The results of the model have been compared with a published experimental work and a good agreement is obtained. Based on the presented model, the bound to bound absorption coefficient component is compared to the bound to continuum absorption coefficient component. In addition, the effects of the dot dimensions and electron filling on the bound to continuum absorption coefficient are also investigated. In general, increasing the dot filling increases the absorption and decreasing the dots dimensions will increase the absorption and move the absorption peak towards longer wavelengths.

Optimizing the combined horizontal and vertical accuracy of the well-known Global Digital Elevation models(GDEms) of various resolutions for each country and region especially in Iraq’s mountainous areas is still questionable. all the three GDEms, approximately, have the same vertical accuracy with the Root mean Square(RmSE) of ±7.3 m, ±7.6 m and ±6.5 m via 12 fixed Ground Control Points(GCPs) for the Advanced Land Observation Satellite Phased Array L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar(alOS PalSAR 12.5 m), the Shuttle Radar Topographic mission(SRTm 30 m) and the TerraSAR-X(the name of twin satellites) add-on for Digital Elevation measurement(TanDEm-X 90 m) GDEms respectively. moreover, the percentage of outliers that are greater or smaller than ±10 m detection of the height extraction from both the alOS PalSAR and SRTm Digital Elevation models(DEms) contains 16.7% and for TanDEm-X was 25%. In this paper,the special DEm is derived using 2123 handheld GPS points for Sulaymaniyah Governorate, Kurdistan region, Iraq. The height extraction by discarding the outliers of 58% gives the RmSE of ±8.0 m in the case of adding geoid heights(N) to the ellipsoidal heights(h) via the Earth Gravitational model 2008(EGm2008)and ±5.6 m without adding N. It is expected that the derived DEms will give more accurate results both horizontally and vertically in the mountainous areas when GPS observations are intensified. The horizontal accuracy is validated through extracting hierarchy stream types of the watershed map from the DEms for higher than 100 pixels length. The alOS PalSAR DEm extracted more numbers of stream orders than ***, based on the criteria of RmSE, outlier detection, and the number of extracted stream orders, the alOS PalSER DEm is regarded as the optimal GDEm in comparison with the close accuracy of both the TanDEm-X and SRTm DEm.

Oxaliplatin is a chemotherapeutic drug used for colorectal cancer treatment. The testicular toxic effect is one of its recorded toxicities which resulted in a few studies. Oxidative stress could be a direct cause of this testicular toxicity. Cerium oxide nanoparticles (CONPs) are optimistic antioxidants for applications in medicine. The aim of the work is to study the protective effect of CONPs on testicular toxicity induced by oxaliplatin in rats. Forty adult male albino rats were divided into 4 groups: Control group, CONPs group (60 mg/kg, 5 times/week), Oxaliplatin group (4 mg/kg, twice/week), and Oxaliplatin & CONPs group, for 4 weeks. Seventy-two hours after the last administration, blood samples were taken for hormonal levels and testes were used for both histopathology and immunohistochemical microscopic examination. Sperm smears were also performed and their results were statistically analyzed to detect any sperm abnormalities. Oxaliplatin increased mDA levels. SOD and GPx activity was decreased. GSH levels were decreased. also, it decreased the sperm cell count and serum testosterone, and anti-müllerian hormon. In the testicular sections, significant histopathology changes were seen and immunohistochemical examination confirmed these results. Upon supplementation of CONPs with oxaliplatin decreased mDA levels. SOD and GPx activity was increased, and GSH did not change. In testicular sections, normal morphology was seen. also, there was an increase in the sperm cell count and serum testosterone anti-müllerian with significant improvement of testicular architecture, and immunohistochemical examination confirmed these results. The utilization of CONPs produced significant protection against all of the above-mentioned changes.

Background: Toxoplasmosis had a remarked role in disturbing pregnancy in women by abortions and congenital abnormalities outcome .Vitamin D deficiency had a role in bone fragility, osteoporosis, exposing women to fractures as well as to bone deformities in newborns. Objective: To assess the relationship between toxoplasmosis seropositivity and vitamin D abnormalities in sera of women in childbearing ages using ELISA and auto-analyzers. methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted by examining the sera of 153 women, who visited Azadi Teaching Hospital Gynecological and Obstetric Clinics. Their complaints involve signs of bad obstetric history (BOH) and bone disorders, versus to 46 women negative for (BOH). Their ages ranged from 15 to 50 years. The results: The overall rate of positive toxoplasmosis was 78.43% distributed into the following rates: 22.87%, 49.01%, and 13.07% for Igm, IgG, and Igm + IgG antibodies, P T. gondii Igm than in sera of women aged over 46 years, P Conclusions: The rate of toxoplasmosis among childbearing age women was high, and the relationship between toxoplasmosis and vitamin D deficiency was significant. This finding is preliminary and prone women for getting osteoporosis.

Chromatographic Analysis of Thiophenes in Calli and Suspension Cultures of Tagets spp.

The thiophene isomer fractions were investigated by TLC （thin layer chromatography） and GLC （gas liquid chromatography）. The TLC analysis revealed that, 5-（4-acetoxy-l-butynyl）-2,2-bithenyl （BBTOAc, Rf 0.78 I）; 5-（3-buten-l-ynyl）-2,2-bithineyl （BBT, Rf 0.39 II） and 2,2,5,2-oc-terthienyl （∝-T, Rf 0.32 III） were detected in extracts of leaf, stem and root calli or suspension cultures of Tagetes erecta and T. patula as well as leaf cell culture of T. patula which treated with DL-tryptophan under light or dark conditions. The GLC quantitative analysis of thiophenes in subjected revealed that the percentage distribution of the major thiophenes in all the analysed samples were determined as follows： BBT II 〉 ∝ -TllI 〉 BBTOAc I. Another thiophene was determined in relatively small amounts and found to be 5-（3-penten-l-ynyl）-2,2-bithienyl （PBT IV）. Other thiophenes were quantitated in trace amounts with unidentified or unknown chemical structure from the investigated extracts.

A customized nutrition-rich diet plan is of utmost importance for cancer patients to intake healthy and nutritious foods that help them to be strong enough to maintain their body weight and body *** nutrition-rich diet foods will prevent them from the side effects caused before and after treatment thereby minimizing *** work is proposed here to provide them with an effec-tive diet assessment plan using deep learning-based automated medical diet ***,an Enhanced Long-Short Term memory(E-LSTm)has been proposed in this paper,especially for cancer *** proposed method will be very useful for cancer patients as this would help them predict the foods which can be consumed by them based on the nutrition analysis of food *** classiﬁcation will be performed in E-LSTm by analyzing the two datasets,one with food images and another with cancer patients’*** an in-depth analysis of the major research papers concerning deep learning strategies to iden-tify the foods along with their nutrition composition,this method has been iden-tiﬁed as one of theﬁnest deep learning approaches that are used for classiﬁcation *** work has been identiﬁed as theﬁrst work producing a new layer for feature extraction and providing nutrition suggestions,especially for cancer patients using the LSTm *** accuracy of prediction and classiﬁcation will be improved by the dedicated layer for feature extraction in ***,it is proved that this proposed method outperforms all other existing techniques in terms of F1 Score,Precision,Recall,Classiﬁcation accuracy,Training loss and Validation loss.
