Introduction: The coronavirus, sARs-CoV-2, is the pathogen responsible for an acute respiratory distress syndrome that broke out in the Wuhan region and became a pandemic in early 2020. The clinical presentation of COVID-19 is polymorphic, dominated by respiratory symptoms and may be associated with cardiovascular, digestive and renal complications. The prognosis depends mainly on the patient’s condition. Acute kidney injury (AKI) during severe sARs CoV-2 infection is frequent, multifactorial and associated with excess mortality. Its pathophysiology has not been fully elucidated, and seems to involve both direct and indirect mechanisms. The aim of our work is to describe the epidemiological, clinical, paraclinical and therapeutic profile of patients presenting with AKI and confirmed COVID-19 disease, and determine the prognostic factors associated with death. Material and Methods: This was a retrospective study conducted at IBN sINA Hospital, Rabat, between March 2020 and November 2021. We included patients with confirmed sARs-CoV-2 infection who developed AKI either on admission or during hospitalization. Results: We enrolled 95 patients with a mean age of 68 ± 13 years and a M/F sex ratio of 1.9. Diabetes was present in 33.7% of cases and hypertension in 32.6%. Most patients had influenzalike illness, lymphopenia and hyperferritinemia. Median creatinine on admission was 32 mg/l [17 - 64]. Temporary catheter hemodialysis was used in 21% of cases, with hyperkalemia for purification and ultrafiltration. There were 63 deaths, it was statically significantly related (p Conclusion: AKI in COVID-19 is multifactorial, and may be secondary to sepsis, hemodynamic failure or direct viral toxicity to the kidney. In our study, mortality was secondary to viral toxicity, clinical presentation, intensive care unit management and recourse to hemodialysis.

In this work,we have reported the synthesis and spectroscopic characterization of captopril(Cap)coordination compounds:Cu(Cap)·2H 2O,Cr(Cap)·H 2O,Zn(Cap)·3H 2O and Mg(Cap)***,it is worthily mentioned that the FTIR spectroscopic technique was employed to recognized the nature of coordination between captopril ligand and copper,chromium,zinc and magnesium(Ⅱ)metal *** view of the infrared spectroscopic tool,the copper(Ⅱ)metal ion coordinated toward captopril drug ligand through sulfur atom of sH group dependent on the absent of stretching vibration band of—*** on this result,the stretching motion ofνa(COO)shifts clearly indicates that Cu 2+,Cr 2+,Zn 2+and Mg 2+the carboxylic group is employed as coordinative site for all compounds as a metal-ligand coordinative *** a general behavior,it is verified that the coordination compound thermal stability(considering the release of captopril molecules,not the release of water molecules)is affected by the metal cation radius:minor radius is associated with higher thermal stability,probably due to a higher metal-captopril bond dissociation enthalpy.

Dietary effects of A zolla pinnata combined with exogenous digestive enzyme(Digestin^(TM)) on growth and nutrients utilization of freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii(de Man 1879)

The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of either individual or combined wheat bran(WB) replacement with Azolla pinnata supplemented with Digestin^(TM) in the diet of freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii Postlarvae(PL) on growth performance, nutrient utilization, chemical body composition and survival(%). Experimental diets were a wheat bran-soybean based diet with no Azolla and Digestin^(TM)(control, T_1), and diets containing 17% Azolla supplemented with Digestin^(TM) 0%(T_2), 1%(T_3), 2%(T_4) and 3%(T 5). Each experimental diet was allocated into three tanks(6 m^3/tank) fed for 12 wks. Each tank was subdivided into three equal pens by nets(2 m^3) and stoked with 84 PL/m^2. The experimental diets were readily consumed by prawns PLs where both high growth and good feed efficiency were achieved for all diets. The results showed that the diets containing A. pinnata supplemented with Digestin? at the level up to 3% have the higher growth and better nutrient utilization than the control diet. No differences were observed for moisture and protein content among the experimental diets. However, the highest protein content was observed on prawns fed on diets T_1 and T 5 respectively, while the lowest value was recorded for T_4 diet. The results also show that prawn PLs fed the diets contain A. pinnata and supplemented with Digestin^(TM) recorded the highest values of body lipid content compared to the control diet. Feed efficiency and economic conversion rate(ECR) values show that economic performance and the cost-effectiveness of the A. pinnata supplemented with up to 3% Digestin^(TM) recorded the highest net return, and therefore it is recommended for prawn, M. rosenbergii PL's. These results are clearly indicating that A. pinnata have a good potential for use in prawn diets at reasonable levels than other conventional diets.

This paper deals with the Bayesian estimation of shannon entropy for the generalized inverse exponential *** that the observed samples are taken from the upper record ranked set sampling(URRss)and upper record values(URV)*** of Bayesian estimators are derived depending on a gamma prior distribution considering the squared error,linear exponential and precautionary loss functions,in addition,we obtain Bayesian credible *** random-walk Metropolis-Hastings algorithm is handled to generate Markov chain Monte Carlo samples from the posterior ***,the behavior of the estimates is examined at various record *** output of the study shows that the entropy Bayesian estimates under URRss are more convenient than the other estimates under URV in the majority of the ***,the entropy Bayesian estimates perform well as the number of records *** obtained results validate the usefulness and efficiency of the URV *** data is analyzed for more clarifying purposes which validate the theoretical results.

Power Inverted Topp–Leone Distribution in Acceptance sampling Plans

We introduce a new two-parameter model related to the inverted Topp–Leone distribution called the power inverted Topp–Leone(PITL)*** properties of the PITL distribution are stated;including;quantile measures,moments,moment generating function,probability weighted moments,Bonferroni and Lorenz curve,stochastic ordering,incomplete moments,residual life function,and entropy *** sampling plans are developed for the PITL distribution,when the life test is truncated at a pre-specified *** truncation time is assumed to be the median lifetime of the PITL distribution with pre-specified *** minimum sample size necessary to ensure the specified life test is obtained under a given consumer’s *** results for given consumer’s risk,parameters of the PITL distribution and the truncation time are *** estimation of the model parameters is argued using maximum likelihood,least squares,weighted least squares,maximum product of spacing and Bayesian methods.A simulation study is confirmed to evaluate and compare the behavior of different *** real data applications are afforded in order to examine the flexibility of the proposed model compared with some others *** results show that the power inverted Topp–Leone distribution is the best according to the model selection criteria than other competitive models.

Comparative Performance Analysis of MAPbI<sub>3sub> and FAPbI<sub>3sub> Perovskites: study of Optoelectronic Properties and stability

The exploitation of fossil resources to meet humanity’s energy needs is the root cause of the climate warming phenomenon facing the planet. In this context, non-carbon-based energies, such as photovoltaic energy, are identified as crucial solutions. Organic perovskites MAPbIsub>3sub> and FAPbIsub>3sub>, characterized by their abundance, low cost, and ease of synthesis, are emerging as candidates for study to enhance their competitiveness. It is within this framework that this article presents a comparative analysis of the performances of MAPbIsub>3sub> and FAPbIsub>3sub> perovskites in the context of photovoltaic devices. The analysis focuses on the optoelectronic characteristics and stability of these high-potential materials. The optical properties of perovskites are rigorously evaluated, including band gaps, photoluminescence, and light absorption, using UV-Vis spectroscopy and photoluminescence techniques. The crystal structure is characterized by X-ray diffraction, while film morphology is examined through scanning electron microscopy. The results reveal significant variations between the two types of perovskites, directly impacting the performance of resulting solar devices. simultaneously, the stability of perovskites is subjected to a thorough study, exposing the materials to various environmental conditions, highlighting key determinants of their durability. Films of MAPbIsub>3sub> and FAPbIsub>3sub> demonstrate distinct differences in terms of topography, optical performance, and stability. Research has unveiled that planar perovskite solar cells based on FAPbIsub>3sub> offer higher photoelectric conversion efficiency, surpassing their MAPbIsub>3sub>-based counterparts in terms of performance. These advancements aim to overcome stability constraints and enhance the long-term durability of perovskites, ultimately aiming for practical application of these materials. High Thermoelectric Figure of Merit of Ag8sns6 Component Prepared by Electrodeposition Technique

A new thermoelectric material Ag8sns6, with ultra-low thermal conductivity in thin film shape, is prepared on indium tin oxide coated g/ass （ITO） substrates using a chemical process via the electrodeposition technique. The structural, thermal and electrical properties are studied and presented in detail, which demonstrate that the material is of semiconductor type, orthorhombic structure, with a band gap in the order of 1.56eV and a free carrier concentration of 1.46 × 10^17 cm-3. The thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, thermal conduction mode, seebeck coefficient and electrical conductivity are determined using the photo-thermal deflection technique combined with the Boltzmann transport theory and Cahill＇s model, showing that the Agssns6 material has a low thermal conductivity of 3.8 Wm - 1K- 1, high electrical conductivity of 2.4 × 10^5 sm- 1, seebeck coefficient of -180μVK-1 and a power factor of 6.9mWK-2m-1, implying that it is more efficient than those obtained in recently experimental investigations for thermoelectric devices.

Neuromyelitis Optica Revealed by Headache in a Child: A Case Report

Devic’s neuromyelitis optica (NMO) is a rare inflammatory disease of the central nervous system that results in optic neuropathy and myelitis. Optic neuritis represents the mode of entry into the disease in more than two thirds of cases. It is a rare entity in children. There is no effective treatment at present, but some molecules can be used, such as corticosteroids, immunosuppressants and plasma exchange. The prognosis in children is generally favorable. Devic’s neuromyelitis is a condition of unknown etiopathogeny which is functionally critical and requires early and appropriate treatment. We report the case of a 12-year-old girl who presented to emergency with a headache and decreased visual acuity, whose investigations led to the diagnosis of Devic’s neuromyelitis optica.

Progression of diethylnitrosamine-induced hepatic carcinogenesis in carnitine-depleted rats

AIM:To investigate whether carnitine deficiency is a risk factor during the development of diethylnitrosamine (DENA)-induced hepatic carcinogenesis. METHODs:A total of 60 male Wistar albino rats were divided into six groups with 10 animals in each *** in group 1(control group)received a single intraperitoneal(i.p.)injection of normal saline.
