Base optimum thickness is determined for a front illuminated bifacial silicon solar cell n+-p-p+ under magnetic field. From the magneto transport equation relative to excess minority carriers in the base, with specific boundary conditions, the photocurrent is obtained. From this result the expressions of the carrier’s recombination velocity at the back surface are deducted. These new expressions of recombination velocity are plotted according to the depth of the base, to deduce the optimum thickness, which will allow the production, of a high short-circuit photocurrent. Calibration relationships of optimum thickness versus magnetic field were presented according to study ranges. It is found that, applied magnetic field imposes a weak thickness material for solar cell manufacturing leading to high short-circuit current.

The analysis results made on drinking water from the rural areas of Kaolack,Diourbel and Fatick central region of Senegal showed the excess of fluoride and chloride *** on the area,the fluoride concentration in the water can reach 3.5 mg/*** values obtained are completely above of WHO(World Health Organization)*** objective of this study is to assess the performances of membrane filtration units powered by renewable energies for fluoride and salinity excess removal in remote village in *** membrane filtration units have been installed in rural areas of regions such as Kaolack,Fatick and *** membrane filtration units are equipped by the LPRO(Low Pressure Reverse Osmosis)membranes with 9 m^(2)of surface.A rejection rate of fluoride and chloride ions obtained is 99.33%and 95.25%*** conversion rates are ranged from 45%to 65%.These results clearly show that membrane processes can be used in Africa,especially in isolated rural areas,with the combination of renewable ***,more than twenty membrane filtration units are installed in Senegal and provide drinking water of very good quality for populations living in rural *** prospect is to expand it on a larger scale,which is already underway,with the construction of a desalination plant in Dakar.

Case Report for Two Hemodialysed Patients Diagnosed for COVID-19 at the Donka National Hemodialysis Center

In December 2019, coronavirus disease (COVID-19) due to infection with the novel SARS-CoV-2 virus began to break out. Hemodialysis patients are at high risk because of the co-morbidities. We report the clinical and biological characteristics of two patients who developed COVID-19 infection in our dialysis center in Donka National Hospital. None of the patients had contact with an infected person. The age was 38 and 54 years. The symptoms common to both patients were: fatigue, diarrhea, fever. Lymphopenia was present in both patients. None of them had a chest X-ray or chest scan because they were positive for the test before admission.

HIV/AIDS is a serious health problem among prisoners and constitutes a big challenge for prison administration services, public health services and governments. Aims: Determine the prevalence of HIV infection among prisoners and describe associated factors. Population and Methods: This was a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study conducted from December 2015 to October 2016. A sample of 600 prisoners was randomly interviewed nationwide. They were selected directly from the sample frame from across the country and proportionally from all sites. Pre-established questionnaires providing information on the sociodemographic and biological characteristics of prisoners were used for the collection of data. Data entry and analysis were performed using EXCEL and SPSS 18 software. Results: The survey was based on a randomised sample of 600 prisoners, 593 of whom accepted blood extraction for the HIV testing. The series was mainly composed of males (89%). The median age was 33 years (18 - 69). The level of education among respondents was 60%. Regarding marital status, the proportion of married prisoners was 51.8%. Almost three-quarters (71.5%) were at their first imprisonment and 51.8% were on preventive detention. The reasons for imprisonment varied and were dominated by drug use (35.3%), while only 4.6% confessed that they continued using drugs while in prison. 97.8% of prisoners have had a sexual experience. Objectives: To describe the practice of ultrasound-guided TAP in the management of postoperative pain after gyneco-obstetric surgery. Methods: This was a descriptive prospective study carried out at the Gynecology-Obstetrics department of the Ignace Deen National Hospital over a period of three (03) months from February 01, 2020 to April 31, 2020. Results: In total, we collected 95 patients. These patients had a mean age of 30 ± 9.5 years. The ASA I class was the most represented with 76% of the cases and the cesarean was the most performed intervention. Regarding the assessment of the pain score by the simple verbal scale (SVE) postoperatively at rest, the mean SLE scores at H6 were 0.17 ± 0.38;at H12 of 1.15 ± 0.62;at H24 of 0.84 ± 0.51;at H36 0.45 ± 0.52 and at H48 0.09 ± 0.29. On mobilization, the mean pain scores were 0.77 ± 0.51 at H6, at H12 1.89 ± 0.61;at H24 of 1.53 ± 0.56;at H36 of 1 ± 0.29 and at H48 of 0.82 ± 0.44. The majority of our patients (66.3%) had a mobilization time of less than 24 hours. The mean length of stay was 3.1 ± 1.3 days and most patients (82%) were satisfied with the management of their pain by ultrasound-guided TAP block. Conclusion: Ultrasound-guided TAP is an effective technique for the management of postoperative pain in gyneco-obstetrics surgery. Its integration in a context of multimodal analgesia could improve the management of postoperative pain in gynecological obstetrics.

Electrochromic materials are of great interest for their potential in eyewear protection and data storage devices, as they change colors in response to electrochemical switching. While many of the systems currently used are based on inorganic materials, organic materials such as triazenes have emerged as viable alternatives due to their unique properties, including optical properties. Triazenes are a class of organic compounds with three consecutive nitrogen atoms in an acyclic arrangement, and they have been used for a variety of applications in medicinal and synthetic chemistry. However, the effects of solvents on the UV-visible absorption spectrum of triazenes have not been fully investigated. The neutral molecules of 3,3-diisopropyl-1-phenyltriazene and 1-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-cyclopentyltriazene in acetonitrile, the UV-visible spectra corresponded respectively to HOMO → LUMO transitions with a large maximum absorption at 299.74 nm (4.1364 eV) and 299.57 nm (4.1387 eV) and the most intense oscillator strength (f = 0.6988) and (f = 0.7372). These results suggest that the electronic transitions of the compounds are highly influenced by the nature of the substituents on the triazene unit, as well as the solvent used in the experiment. The redox couple 0.92 and -0.44 V/Ag/AgCl is attributed to the phenyl group. Compound III showed an oxidation and reduction peak respectively -0.27 and -0.8 V/Ag/AgCl attributed to the phenyl molecule. The study concluded that all three compounds were electroactive and exhibited reversible characteristics with oxidizing/reducing couples. This study aims to contribute to research on the optical properties of triazenes compounds and the application of quantum chemical calculation methods for understanding their molecular structures. By investigating the solute-solvent interactions occurring in the solvation shell of the solutes, we aim to gain insights into the effects of solvents on the UV-visible absorption spectrum of triazenes. Epidemiology of Sleep Disorders among Chronic Hemodialysis Patients in Senegal: A Multicentric Study

Introduction: Sleep disorders (SD) are common dialysis patients and can impact their quality of life. In previous studies, black ethnicity was associated with higher incidence of SD but a few data are available in African patients. This study aimed to describe prevalence and risk factors of SD among Senegalese dialysis patients. Methods: We performed a cross-sectional study between February 15th and April 30th 2012 including 127 patients (75 males and 52 females) aged 46.8 ± 16.9 (16 - 85 years) and dialysed since >6 months in three dialysis centres. For each patient, we assessed insomnia according to international definition, obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) with the Berlin questionnaire, restless leg syndrome (RLS) using abridged version of Cambridge-Hopkins RLS questionnaire, and excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) with Epworth sleepiness scale. Logistic multivariate regression was used to identify factors associated with different SD. Results: Overall prevalence of SD was 88% comprising: insomnia (64.3%), OSAS (49.1%), RLS (24.1%) and EDS (20.5%). Forty-two patients presented at least two disorders. No difference was noticed in prevalence of SD between genders (p = 0.14). Level of blood pressure were not different across patients with and without SD. Insomnia correlated with anemia, inflammation and EDS. OSAS was associated with age ≥50 years, EDS and neck circumference ≥25 cm. RLS correlated with anemia and EDS. Other parameters such as gender, dialysis vintage, KT/V, obesity, diabetes status and hypoalbuminemia were not associated with the different SD. The majority of patients had not been diagnosed before the survey and none of them was under treatment. Conclusions: Our findings are compatible with high prevalence of sleep disorders reported in other populations. Insomnia and OSAS are the most frequent SD but some patients combined many disorders. Introduction: Bladder cancer is a new tissue formation most often of urothelial origin with potential for local, locoregional and distant invasion. Among its risk factors, urinary bilharzia is endemic in our study area. The aim of our study was to present the epidemiological, clinical and histopathological aspects of bladder cancer in our department. Patients and method: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study over a 12-month period from January 1 to December 31, 2019. The study took place in the urology department of the university hospital Point “G”. It included all patients hospitalized for bladder cancer. The epidemiological, clinical and histopathological characteristics have been sought and described. Results: A total of 74 patients were included in the study. Bladder cancer was the leading cause of cancer, accounting for 57.9% of all urological cancers. The mean age of the patients was 52.8 ± 16.25 years. A slight male predominance was observed with a sex-ratio of 1.2. Housewives were the most represented with 43.2% followed by farmers with 24.3%. Hematuria was the reason for consultation in 87.8% cases. The main risk factors found were urinary schistosomiasis (48.6%) and smoking (31.1%). These two factors were associated in 23.0% of cases. At diagnosis, 85.7% of patients were classified as T3 or T4 stage. Squamous cell carcinoma with 58.2% was the most common histological type followed by urothelial carcinoma in 26.0% of cases. Conclusion: Bladder cancer is very common of cancer in hospitalized patients in our department. Diagnosis is more often made at an advanced stage. The most common histological type is squamous cell carcinoma.

This work deals with determining the optimum thickness of the lamella wafer of silicon solar cell. The (p) base region makes up the bulk of the thickness of the wafer. This thickness has always been a factor limiting the performance of the solar cell, as it produces the maximum amount of electrical charges, contributing to the photocurrent. Determining the thickness of the wafer cannot be only mechanical. It takes into account the internal physical mechanisms of generation-diffusion-recombination of excess minority carriers. They are also influenced by external factors such as temperature and magnetic field. Under these conditions, magneto transport equation is required to be applied on excess minority carrier in lamella base silicon solar cell. It yields maximum diffusion coefficient which result on Lorentz law and Umklapp process. Then from photocurrent, back surface recombination velocity expressions are derived, both maximum diffusion coefficient and thickness dependent. The plot of the back surface recombination calibration curves as function of lamella width, leads to its maximum values, trough intercept points. Lamella optimum width is then obtained, both temperature and magnetic field dependent and expressed in relationships to show the required base thickness in the elaboration process.
