Whole grain cereals are important dietary sources for management of metabolic diseases due to the bioactive components they ***,this study investigated enzymes(pancreatic lipase,-amylase,-glucosidase,xanthine oxidase and angiotensin 1-converting enzyme)inhibitory property,antioxidant activity and phenolics profile of raw and roasted red sorghum(Sorghum bicolor)grains in *** of flours of raw and roasted(150◦C and 180◦C,for 20 min)grains were assayed for enzymes inhibitory and antioxidant activities using spectrophotometric methods;while their phenolic constituents were characterized using *** raw grains exhibited strong enzymes inhibitory and antioxidant activities,and contained phenolic acids(gallic,chlorogenic,caffeic,ellagic and p-coumaric acids)and flavonoids(quercetin,luteolin and apigenin).However,whereas the enzymes inhibitory activity and levels of the phenolic compounds in the grains decreased significantly(p<0.05)with increasing roasting temperature,the antioxidant activity ***,roasting at high temperature may not be recommended for the optimum retention of the enzymes inhibitory property and phenolic compounds of red sorghum grains.

Bone-produced fibroblast growth factor 23(FGF23)increases in response to inflammation and iron deficiency and contributes to cardiovascular mortality in chronic kidney disease(CKD).Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin(NGAL or lipocalin 2;LCN2 the murine homolog)is a pro-inflammatory and iron-shuttling molecule that is secreted in response to kidney injury and may promote CKD *** investigated bone FGF23 regulation by circulating *** 23 weeks,Col4a3KO mice showed impaired kidney function,increased levels of kidney and serum LCN2,increased bone and serum FGF23,anemia,and left ventricular hypertrophy(LVH).Deletion of Lcn2 in CKD mice did not improve kidney function or anemia but prevented the development of LVH and improved survival in association with marked reductions in serum ***2 deletion specifically prevented FGF23 elevations in response to inflammation,but not iron deficiency or phosphate,and administration of LCN2 increased serum FGF23 in healthy and CKD mice by stimulating Fgf23 transcription via activation of cAMP-mediated signaling in bone *** results show that kidney-produced LCN2 is an important mediator of increased FGF23 production by bone in response to inflammation and in ***2 inhibition might represent a potential therapeutic approach to lower FGF23 and improve outcomes in CKD.

The phenolics composition and inhibitory activity of Tetrapleura tetraptera fruit extract on xanthine oxidase(XO)and Fe2+-induced lipid peroxidation in the kidney,liver and lungs tissues of rats were evaluated in ***(flavonoids and phenolic acids)were quantified using reverse-phase high performance liquid chromatrography coupled with diode array detection(HPLC-DAD).The XO and Fe2+-induced lipid peroxidation inhibitory abilities of the extract were evaluated using spectrophotometric *** extract contained some flavonoids and phenolic acids,including catechin,epicatechin,rutin,quercetin,luteolin,apigenin;gallic,chlorogenic,caffeic and ellagic acids that are beneficial to *** extract inhibited XO in the kidney,liver and lungs tissues in a dose-dependent *** half-maximal inhibitory concentrations(IC50)of the extract on XO from the tissues varied significantly(Pkidney>*** extract also inhibited Fe2+-induced lipid peroxidation in a dose-dependent pattern,having IC50 in the order of liver>lungs>*** fruit extract could be a promising nutraceutical for preventing and managing hyperuricaemia and the associated disease conditions,due to its ability to inhibit XO;this bioactivity is attributable to combined effect of its flavonoids and phenolic acids.

Fractional order calculus can represent systems with high-order dynamics and complex nonlinear phenomena using few coefficients, since the arbitrary order of the derivatives provides an additional degree of freedom to fit a specific behavior. Numerous mathematicians have contributed to the history of fractional calculus by attempting to solve a fundamental problem to the best of their understanding. Each researcher sought a definition and therefore different approaches, which has led to various definitions of differentiation and anti-differentiation of non-integer orders that are proven equivalent. Although all these definitions may be equivalent, from one specific standpoint, i.e., for a specific application, some definitions seem more attractive. Furthermore, it is well known that food gums are complex carbohydrates that can suit for a wide variety of functions in the context of food engineering. The viscoelastic behavior of food gums is crucial for these applications and formulations of new or improved food products. Small progress has been made to understand the viscoelastic behavior of food gums and there are few studies in the literature about these models. In this paper, we applied the Riemann-Liouville approach and the Fourier transform in order to obtain numerical simulations results of a fractional derivative model based on previous literature that to make a quantitative description of the viscoelastic properties behavior for a food gum. The results reveal that the fractional model shows good simulation capability and can be an attractive means for predicting and to elucidate the dynamic viscoelastic behavior of food gums.

Objective:To investigate the phenolic compounds composition and the inhibitory activity of Mangifera indica(***) and Mucuna urens(***) seeds extracts against some key enzymes(-amylase,-glucosidasc and aldose reductase) implicated in the pathology and complications of type 2 diabetes in ***:Reverse phase chromatographic quantification of the major flavonoids and phenolic acids in the seeds extracts was carried out using high performance liquid chromatography coupled with diode array *** inhibitory activities of the seeds extracts against-amylase and-glucosidase were estimated using soluble starch and p-nitrophenylglucopyranosidc as their respective *** of aldose reductase activity by the extracts was assayed using partially purified lens homogenate of normal male rat as source of enzyme;inhibition of Fe^(2+)-induced lipid peroxidation by extracts was tested in rat pancreas ***:The chromatography result revealed that extracts of both seeds had appreciable levels of some major flavonoids and phenolic acids of pharmacological importance,including gallic acid,chlorogenic acid,caffeic acid,ellagic acid,catechin,rutin,*** and *** of both seeds effectively inhibited-amylase,-glucosidase and aldose reductase activities in a dose-dependent manner,having inhibitory preference for these enzymes in the order of aldose reductase>-glucosidase>-*** lower half-maximal inhibitory concentrations(IC50)against-amylase,-glucosidase,and aldose reductase,*** had stronger inhibitory potency against these enzymes than *** of both seeds also inhibited Fe2+-induced lipid peroxidation in a dose-dependent pattern,with *** being more potent than ***:The results obtained provide support for a possible use of *** and *** seeds in managing hyperglycemia and preventing the complications associated with it in type 2diabetes.

综述了铌在酸催化和氧化催化反应中的作用。铌化合物为新型催化材料,在催化反应中,既可作为催化剂,也可作为催化剂载体或助剂。铌酸和磷酸铌在水解、水合等很多酸催化反应中具有良好的催化活性。在含铌载体负载的金属催化剂中,存在着载体与金属间的强相互作用,可用于选择性催化加氢反应。铌氧化物具备一定的氧化-还原能力,能增强用其掺杂或负载的氧化物催化剂的催化氧化活性。铌作为催化助剂,在低碳烃选择氧化反应中,可提高目标产物烯烃、醛、酸或腈的收率。铌催化剂还在光催化制氢等反应中显示出特殊的活性。

Objective:To study the effect of crude methanol and n-hexane extracts of Hypericum connatum(***) and Hypericum caprifoliatum on trophoblast-like ***:BeWo and JEG-3 trophoblast-like cells were submitted to different extract concentrations(1.5,10 and 15 μg/mL) and evaluated in relation to cell viability and in titro trophoblast differentiation and *** viability was evaluated using WST-1 *** was measured by luciferase production,hCG production/release,and mitogenactivated protein kinase signaling pathway *** function of the trophoblast-like cells was measured by^(25)Ca^(2*) influx ***:The results showed a decrease in cell viability/*** plants and different extracts induced a significant decrease in hCG production/release and luciferase *** did not cause mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling pathway disturbance;however,Hypericum caprifoliatum n-hexane extract at 15 μg/mL inhibited extracellular signalregulated kinase 1/2 *** significant increase in Ca^(2+) influx by JEG-3 cells was seen after short and long incubation times with *** methanolie extract at 15 μg/***:The results indicated that these two Hypericum species extracts can interfere on trophoblast differentiation and Ca^(2+)influx,according to their molecular *** in vivo experiments are necessary to establish their action on placental formation and function,this study suggests that attention must be paid to the potential toxic effect of these plants.

Remoras are commensal fish of various marine species,such as sharks,swordfishes,turtles,dolphins,manta rays and *** specimen of marlin sucker Remora osteochir was evaluated using computed tomography for skeletal digital reconstruction,digital radiology for general evaluation and bone counting,and the double contrast technique to distinguish coelomic *** radiographic images,it was possible to observe otoliths in the center of the neurocranium,to count 27 vertebrae,nine pairs of ribs,and to detect the presence of the hipural and epural bones near of the caudal *** double contrast images,it was possible to visualize the swim bladder,gills,heart,liver,stomach and *** the tomographic images and reconstructions,it was possible to identify the intercalar bones of the cephalic disc;the spine with vertebral bodies composed of neural arches and ventral ribs;and the pectoral girdle formed by posttemporal,cleithrum and scapulocoracoid *** was concluded that digital radiology and computed tomography were able to describe anatomical structures of marlin sucker *** without the need for dissection.
