Immediate and delayed micro-tensile bond strength of different luting resin cements to different regional dentin

We sought to evaluate immediate and delayed micro-tensile bond strength of Panavia F2.0 and Multilink Sprint resin cement to superficial, deep and cervical dentin. Thirty-six freshly extracted non-carious human molars were sectioned in the mesiodistal direction to expose three different dentin regions including superficial dentin （1 mm below the dentine-enamel junction）, deep dentin （1 mm above the highest pulp horn） and cervical dentin （0.5 mm above the cemento-enamel junction and 0.5 mm below the dentine-enamel junction）. Resin cements were applied on dentin surfaces and composite blocks were luted under constant seating pressure. Each group was divided into three subgroups according to time intervals. Specimens were sectioned to obtain sticks of 1 mm2 in diameter and subjected to microtensile bond strength testing at a cross head speed of 1 mrn/min. Both resin cements showed higher micro-tensile bond strength to superficial dentin than that to deep or cervical dentin （P 〈 0.001）. Micro-ten- sile bond strengths of Panavia F2.0 were higher than those of Multilink Sprint at different dentin regions （P 〈 0.001）. Immediate ＂micro-tensile bond strengths were higher than those of delayed micro-tensile bond strengths for both resin cements （P 〈 0.001）. It was concluded that resin cements with different chemical formulations and applications yield significantly different micro-tensile bond strengths to different dentin regions.

Designing equipment for processing,sorting,sizing and other post-harvest operations of agricultural products requires information about their physical *** study was carried out to evaluate the effect of moisture content on some physical properties of barley *** levels of moisture content ranging from 7.34%to 21.58%(d.b.)were *** average length,width,thickness,arithmetic mean diameter,geometric mean diameter,thousand grain mass,sphericity,surface area and repose angle increased from 8.91 to 9.64 mm,3.30 to 3.74 mm,2.58 to 2.98 mm,4.93 to 5.45 mm,4.23 to 4.75 mm,44.48 to 51.30 g,47.55%to 49.35%,56.66 to 71.09 mm2 and 31.16°to 36.90°,respectively,as moisture content increased from 7.34%to 21.58%(d.b.).The bulk density,true density and porosity were found to decrease with increasing moisture *** static friction coefficient of the grains increased linearly against various surfaces(plywood,glass and galvanized iron sheet)as the moisture content *** all moisture content,the maximum friction was offered by plywood,followed by galvanized iron sheet and glass surface.

Estimation of Residence Times and Recharge Area of Groundwater in the Moulares Mining Basin by Using Carbon and Oxygen Isotopes (South Western Tunisia)

Radiogenic carbon (14C) of the DIC (Dissolved Inorganic Carbon) and oxygen-18 were used to understand the hydro- dynamic functioning of the multilayer aquifer system in the Moulares mining basin, southern Tunisia. The results of this study permits identify two groundwater types. A- an old paleoclimatic groundwater, marked by low carbon-14 (14C) activities. B - a recent groundwater, was distinguished by relatively high carbon-14 activities. In addition to these two water types, other groundwater, indicating a mixing effect, is resulting presumably from upward movement from the deeper groundwater. Based on 14C activity and the piston flow type theory the groundwater residence time varies from 5 Kyear to 35 Kyear. Carbon-14 activity and oxygen-18 in Groundwater are active since Mio-Plio-Quaternary and Upper Cretaceous aquifers lead to the identification of paleorecharged water probably during Late Pleistocene and Early to Middle Holocene. The water feedings of these aquifers are mainly provided by infiltration of precipitations, infiltration of irrigation water, lateral feeding from cretaceous relieves from the South and the North and along recent and fossil drainage networks that constitute major fresh water sources in groundwater tables.

Vanadium nitride （VN） was deposited by DC-sputtering on a vertically aligned carbon nanotube （CNTs） template for the purpose of nano-structuration. This led to the fabrication of hierarchically composite electrodes consisting of porous and nanostructured VN grown on vertically aligned CNTs in a nano-treelike configuration for micro-supercapacitor application. The electrodes show excellent performance with an areal capacitance as high as 37.5 mF cm^-2 at a scan rate of 2 mV s^-1 in a 0.5 M K2504 mild electrolyte solution. Furthermore, the capacitance decay was only 15% after 20,000 consecutive cycles. Moreover, the capacitance was found to increase with VN deposit thickness. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analyses of the electrodes before and after cycling suggest that the oxide layers that form at the VN surface is the responsible for the redox energy storage in this material. Such electrodes can compete with other transition metal nitride based electrodes for micro-supercapacitors.

Background: The efficacy of octreotide to prevent postoperative pancreatic fistula(POPF) of pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD) is still controversial. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of postoperative use of octreotide on the outcomes after ***: This is a prospective randomized controlled trial for postoperative use of octreotide in patients undergoing PD. Patients with soft pancreas and pancreatic duct ality(P = 0.727).Conclusions: Octreotide did not reduce postoperative morbidities, reoperation and mortality rate. Also, it did not affect the incidence of POPF and its clinically relevant variants.

On the Performance of a Solar Driven Absorption Refrigerator

An endoreversible model is used to simulate the dynamic behavior of a solar driven absorption refrigerator, the cycle under different operating and design conditions. A global time minimization procedure is performed to reach maximum performances. To evaluate the influence of the cold temperature on the system’s performances, results are carried out for three values of this temperature. They are presented in normalized charts for general applications. The minimum time set point temperature, entropy and maximum refrigeration load are sharp and therefore, are important to be considered for system design.

Flavonoid chemical composition and antidiabetic potential of Brachychiton acerifolius leaves extract

Objective:To evaluate Brachychiton acerifolius leaf extracts as antidiabetic potential agent and to identify the main active constituents using bioactivity guided ***:In vitro antioxidant activity was evaluated for *** different extracts using DPPH assay and vitamin C as *** activity was then determined using STZ-induced rats treated daily with ethyl acetate and 70% ethanol leaf extracts for4 weeks at a dose of 200 g/kg body weight against gliclazide reference *** glucose,a-amylase,lipid profile,liver function enzymes and oxidative stress markers were assessed along with histopathological study for liver and pancreatic *** and structural elucidation of active compounds were made using Diaion and Sephadex followed by spectral ***:The results indicated that ethyl acetate and ethanol leaf extracts exhibited the strongest antioxidant activity compared to that of vitamin C(IC500.05,0.03 and 12 mg/m L,respectively).Both extracts showed potent anti-hyperglycemic activity evidenced by a significant decrease in serum glucose levels by 82.5% and 80.9% and a-amylase by45.2% and 53.6%,as compared with gliclazide 68% and 59.4%,*** of ethanol extract resulted in the isolation of 9 flavonoids including apigenin-7-O-arhamnosyl(1/2)-b-D-glucuronide,apigenin-7-O-b-D-glucuronide,apigenin-7-O-b-Dglucoside and ***:This study highlights the potential use of *** leaf extract enriched in flavones for the treatment of diabetes that would warrant further clinical trials investigation.

Comparison of Flow Characteristics Around Refractive and Right-angled Groins in Barotropic and Baroclinic Conditions

Groins are employed to prevent nearshore areas from erosion and to control the direction of flow. However, the groin structure and its associated flow characteristics are the main causes of local erosion. In this study, we investigate the flow patterns around refractive and right-angle groins. In particular, we analytically compare the flow characteristics around a refractive groin and study the degree of accuracy that can be achieved by using a right-angle groin of various projected lengths. To compare the flow characteristics, we replaced the right-angle groin with an approximation of a refractive groin. This replacement had the least effect on the maximum velocity of flow in the channel. Moreover, we investigated the distribution of the density variables of temperature and salinity, and their effects on the flow characteristics around the right-angle groin. A comparison of the flow analysis results in baroclinic and barotropic conditions reveals that the flow characteristic values are very similar for both the refractive and right-angle groins. The geometry of the groin, i.e., right-angle or refractive, has little effect on the maximum speed to relative average speed. Apart from the angular separation, the arm length of the groin in downstream refractive groins has less effect on other flow characteristics than do upstream refractive groins. We also correlated a number of non-dimensional variables with respect to various flow characteristics and groin geometry. These comparisons indicate that the correlation between the thalweg height and width of the channel and groin arm＇s length to projection length have been approximated using linear and nonlinear formulas regardless of inner velocity in the subcritical flow.
