The Research on the Distribution, Abundance and Some Ecological Characteristics of Neuroterus Species （Hymenoptera： Cynipidae） in Oak Forest of West Azerbaijan （Iran）

Oak gall wasps （Hymenoptera： Cynipidae）, with more than 1300 species, represent one of the largest radiations of gall inducing insects. Many studies have documented galling species lists and richness, especially gall wasps, but few studies have been directed toward understanding how the gall-inducing species are locally distributed. In this survey, the oak gall wasps were collected from April to November （2009 and 2010） in West Azerbaijan of Iran. Among these collected galls, five species of oak gall wasps which belonged to the genus Neuroterus sp. were identified as： Neuroterus lanuginosus Giraud, N. numismalis Geoffroy, N. saliens Kollar, N. laeviusculus Schenck and N. quercus-baccarum Linnaeus. All of the galls in this survey are leaf galls. These galls were produced by the asexual reproduction and were collected in summer and fall seasons. The highest species richness was recorded in Ghabre-hossein and Vavan stations. Also, the highest density of gall formation was recorded at the southern direction. The multiple-sites similarity measures indicated that similarity in gall composition and community between collecting sites was generally between 0.57 and 0.90. The highest multiple site similarity was recorded between Vavan vs Rabat vs Dare-ghabr station. The authors showed that the very cold and humidity climate is not appropriate to Neuroterus species activity and the south direction is the best side for their survival.

Heterosis and Combing Ability in F1 Population of Hexaploid Wheat (<i>Triticum Aestivum</i>L.)

The heterosis, heterobeltiosis, general combining ability (GCA) and specific combining ability (SCA) were examined during Rabi (crop season) of 2013-2014 in hexaploid wheat genotypes. The experiment for this study was conducted at the Botanical Garden, Department of Plant Breeding & Genetics, Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam, Pakistan. The breeding material was comprised of four parents (Imdad, TD-1, SKD-1, and Moomal). These parents were crossed in half partial mating fashion;thus, six possible cross combinations (F1s) were obtained (Imdad × TD-1, Imdad × SKD-1, Imdad × Moomal, TD-1 × SKD-1, TD-1 × Moomal, and SKD-1 × Moomal). A three-replicated RCB Design was used. The mean squares corresponding to different traits of various hexaploid wheat genotypes indicated significant (P F1 hybrids) effects for the characters (plant height, tillers plant-1, spike length, spikelets spike-1, seeds spike-1, seed index, and grain yield plant-1). The mean performance of F1 hybrids differed significantly (P < 0.01) for all the traits studied. Among the parents, Imdad and TD-1 proved to be better general combiners for almost all the studied traits. In regards to SCA effects, the F1 hybrids Imdad × TD-1 and Imdad × SKD-1 expressed higher SCA and heterotic effects for most of the studied traits.

Sensor Placement to Improve the Positioning Performance Based on Angle of Arrival (AOA)

In this paper, a method for sensor placement to improve the placement quality based on angle of arrival of signal in a specific area is proposed. The installation place of sensors may be constrained with specified boundaries. In this me-thod, the criterion of maximum quality of placement is the Cramer-Rao bound. The generalized pattern search as an effective method is used to maximize error bound of the placement problem by angle of arrival. Better results are ob-tained in comparison with results of genetic algorithm. The derived results are compared from two aspects of run time and result quality.

Gender Differences in Quality of Attachment to God, Forgiveness, Altruism, and Mental Health in College and Seminary School Students

The aim of the current study was to investigate gender differences in quality of attachment to God, forgiveness, altruism and mental health in college and seminary school students as well. To fulfil the stated goal 993 individuals were selected by means of stratified sampling procedures and the following measures were distributed among them： Muslim-Spiritual Attachment Scale, Kin Altruism, Reciprocal Altruism Enright Forgiveness Inventory, and Symptom Checklist-90 Revised. Analysis of data using t test revealed significant differences between male and female students （/9 〈 0.01）. Moreover, data indicated that interpersonal sensitivity was higher in male students while somatization complains was higher among female students. Analysis of data showed that quality of secure attachment in female students were higher than male students （P 〈 0.01）. Moreover, female students were higher in altruism, especially in domain of compassion （P 〈 0.05）. In addition female students were higher in perceiving God as a Safe Haven and providing them with comfort and tranquility. Moreover, females students were higher in altruism （p 〈 0.05）, and forgiveness （p 〈 0.01）. The analysis of data revealed that female students were higher in the secure attachment to God, sympathy toward others and they scored higher in somatization complain while male students were higher in the interpersonal sensitivity. Theoretical implication and practical application of findings have been discussed in the original paper. Findings in this project were consistent with body of research findings. Theoretical implication and practical usage of the current study was described in the original paper. Data revealed that female student were higher in secure attachment to God, altruism and forgiveness. Showing emotional stability and higher spirituality.

Comparison of in vivo antiseptic and in vitro antimicrobial effects of Peganum harmala *** ethanolic extract with Betadine

Objective:To compare the antibacterial activity and antiseptic effect of ethanol extract of Peganum harmala L.(***)seeds and Betadine on eight reference strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae,Salmonella typhimurium,Escherichia coli,Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis,Klebsiella pneumoniae,Staphylococcus aureus,Micrococcus luteus which are known to cause different types of skin infections,and Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis isolated from an abscess on horse's ***:The antibacterial activity was assessed using a disc diffusion *** minimum inhibitory concentration was tested by serial dilution method and the percentage of bacterial growth inhibition by absorbance microplate reader *** minimum bactericidal concentration was then *** outcomes were obtained through washed up healing time of longitudinal and surface skin on the back of 16 rats with concentrations of 10,50,100,150 and 500 mg/mL of *** ***:The results of in vitro experiments showed that the lowest minimum inhibitory concentration(0.68-1.3 mg/mL)and minimum bactericidal concentration(1.3-5 mg/mL)values were observed in the ethanol extract of *** *** the results of in vivo experiment showed that wound healing in the concentration of 50 mg/mL of this plant extract was better and quicker than ***:This study confirmed that ethanol extract of *** has appropriate effect on the microorganisms and the healing of skin wounds in comparison with Betadine.

Mineral Chemistry and Magmatic Differentiation Evidences in the Neshveh Intrusion (NW Saveh, Central Iran)

Neshveh intrusion which is located in the NW of Saveh City is a part of Sahand-Bazman magmatic arc within the Central Iranian zone. This intrusion consists of quartz-monzogabbro, quartz-monzodiorite, granodiorite and granite that have intruded into the Eocene volcano-sedimentary rocks. This intrusion is medium to high-K calc alkaline, metaluminous, and I-type granitoid. All phases of the Neshveh granitoid are characterized by LREE-rich patterns with high LREE/HREE ratio and negative Eu anomalies. Similarity of patterns suggests a comagmatic source for these rocks and demonstrates the role of magmatic differentiation in their evolution. Clinopyroxene classified as calcic type with varying from clinoenstatite-clinofferosillite to diopside and augite from quartz-monzogabbros to quartz-monzodiorite and granodiorite. Plagioclase composition varies from bytownite and labradorite in quartz-monzogabbros to andesine in quartz-monzodiorites and oligoclase in granodiorites and granites. Core of some plagioclases in granodiorites and granites shows the calcic composition which is labradorite and andesine in granodiorite and andesine in granites. Field investigations along with petrographic and geochemical studies indicate that all phases of the Neshveh intrusion derived from a common magma source as a result of mineral differentiation. Geochemical evidences show smooth differentiation trends in which most of major elements (except Al2O3, K2O and Na2O) are negatively correlated with SiO2?and K2O, Ba, Rb, Ce, Nb, and Zr are positively correlated with SiO2. Some elements such as Na2O, Sr, Eu and Y follow curves that reflect crystal fractionation of clinopyroxene, plagioc1ase and hornblende. Furthermore, large volumes of quartz-monzogabbros compared to granites, as well as the lack of mafic enclaves in more evolved rocks, are also indicative of crystal fractionation. Physio-Mechanical Properties and Petrographic Analysis of NikanaiGhar Limestone KPK, Pakistan

Petrographic, physical, and mechanical assessment investigation of NikanaiGhar limestone aggregate exposed in the Lower Dir area of Malakand Division, Pakistan, were conducted to evaluate and investigate its potential for use as a construction material for engineering projects. Different geotechnical tests and petrographic analyses were performed to evaluate its potential for construction purposes. Geotechnical tests include unconfined compressive strength, ultimate tensile strength test, specific gravity, share strength, porosity, and water absorption. The evaluated physical attributes were compared to standard specifications to determine their suitability as a construction material. Petrographic investigation indicates mainly two types of stones. Stylolitic spar stone and Spar stone are metamorphosed equivalent limestones and are not prone to alkali-silica reactivity. Mutual relationships between physical parameters have been described by simple regression analysis. Significant direct correlation of specific gravity with ultimate tensile strength and uniaxial compressive strength was noted. However, negative trends of Porosity with ultimate tensile strength and uniaxial compressive strength were observed which is in accordance with standard. The analysis revealed that the limestones of NikanaiGhar Formation fall within the standard specification limits and can be used as aggregates for the indigenous construction industry.

Neshveh intrusion is located in the NW of Saveh City and is a part of Orumieh-Dokhtar magmatic arc. This intrusion consists of quartz monzodiorite, granodiorite and granite that have intruded into the Eocene volcano-sedimentary rocks. This intrusion is high-K calk-alkaline and metaluminous and is classified as I-type granitoids. Field investigations along with petrographic and geochemical studies indicate that all phases of Neshveh intrusion are derived from a common magma source as a result of mineral differentiation. Different phases of this intrusion have low Mg#, Ni, Cr, Co and V which are indicative for higher evolution of magma during the magma ascent and before complete crystallization. All phases of Neshveh granitoid are characterized by LREE-rich patterns with high LREE/HREE ratio and negative Eu anomalies. Similarity of the mentioned patterns suggests a comagmatic source for these rocks and demonstrates the role of magmatic differentiation in their evolution. There are negative anomalies in the Nb and Ti along with positive anomalies of Rb, Ba, K and Pb on the spider diagrams. These anomalies are indicative for a subduction setting for magma source of these rocks. Geochemical studies indicate that the Neshveh granitoid is formed in a volcanic arc and active continental margin. In this base, it is assumed that this intrusion is formed as a result of Neo-Tethys oceanic lithosphere subduction beneath the Central Iran zone which is replaced in the Orumieh-Dokhtar magmatic arc.

Milk is very susceptible for growth and development of many microorganisms because it is rich in nutrients and has suitable condition. Thus, it is very vital to respect sanitary conditions at all stages of production and transport of raw milk. The objective of the present investigation was to determine the total bacterial, and acidity in raw milk from milk collection centers in Malayer and Nahavand cities. 52 milk samples were collected from 13 centers in summer 2012 and were analyzed according to standard methods. None of the raw milk samples under investigation, had superior or grade 1 quality. Only 7.7% of the samples were classified as raw milk with grade 2 quality and 92.3% were non-standard. The mean of microbial total count in base was 3.8 × 107 CFU/ml and average acidity in the samples was 0.163. The city of Tochqhaz and aliabade-Damagh has the lowest and the highest microbial total count. In general the result of this study showed unsatisfactory conditions of milk in the milk collection centers of the Malayer and Nahavand cities.

Aggregate Suitability Assessment of Wargal Limestone for Pavement Construction in Pakistan

This paper presents the evaluation of the potential aggregate source for pavement construction in Pakistan. Recently the demand for construction materials has been increased significantly due to the establishment of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Projects. Therefore, it is essential to look for new resources of construction materials along with the CPEC routes in consideration of this increasing demand. In this context, a Physical and Mechanical characterization investigation is carried out on the Permian Wargal Limestone from Zaluch Nala, Salt Range to explore their potential to utilize as construction materials. The studied samples have tolerable values for all standard engineering parameters, proposed by various national and international agencies such as AASHTO, ASTM, BS, and NHA. Furthermore, as a performance indicator of aggregate overall quality, the evaluated mechanical qualities were integrated into a single characteristic, Toughness Index (TI). The TI values also suggested that the Permian Wargal limestone aggregates meet international quality standards for pavement construction. On the basis of geotechnical testing and Toughness Index (TI), the late Permian Wargal limestone, Zaluch Nala, Salt Range, is strongly recommended as a potential aggregate resource for mega projects such as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and other construction projects.
