This paper deals with a first-principle mathematical model that describes the electrostatic coalescer unitsdevoted to the separation of water from oil in water-in-oil emulsions, which are typical of the upstreamoperations in oil fields. The main phenomena governing the behavior of the electrostatic coalescer are denscribed, starting from fundamental laws. In addition, the gradual coalescence of the emulsion droplets isconsidered in the mathematical modeling in a dynamic fashion, as the phenomenon is identified as a keystep in the overall yield of the unit operation. The resulting differential system with boundary conditionsis then integrated via performing numerical libraries, and the simulation results confirm the available lit-erature and the industrial data. A sensitivity analysis is provided with respect to the main parameters. Themathematical model results in a flexible tool that is useful for the purposes of design, unit behavior predic-tion. performance rnoniroring, and ontimization.

[目的]观察美国一般人群的尿镉水平与心电图改变的关系,了解镉暴露对心电图的影响。[方法]利用美国第三次国家健康与营养调查(NHANESⅢ)中进行心电图测量,年龄≥40岁的6 889名参与者作为研究对象。采用标准十二导联心电图分析系统记录心电图参数;采用原子吸收光谱法测定尿镉含量。按性别分层,运用多元线性回归分析尿镉水平与心电图改变的关系。[结果]尿镉平均水平为(0.7±0.01)μg/g肌酐,其中男性人群平均(0.6±0.02)μg/g肌酐;女性(0.8±0.02)μg/g肌酐;在男性群体,尿镉水平四分位最高与最低等分相比,多因素调整的心率、PRrr间期、QTrr间期和QRS间期变化及其95%CI分别为1.72(0.05~3.4)次/分,-3.87(-7.3^-0.45)ms,-0.39(-4.09~3.22)ms和-2.64(-4.96^-0.33)ms。在女性群体,尿镉水平最高与最低等分相比,上述相应的心电图参数变化及其95%CI分别为-0.19(-1.72~1.33)次/分,-0.09(-4.13~3.94)ms,1.59(-1.05~4.23)ms和-1.11(-2.68~0.47)ms。[结论]尿镉水平与美国男性一般人群的心电图改变存在一定的关联。

AIM: To assess whether the use of fibrin sealantshortens the closure time of postoperative enterocutaneous fistulas (ECFs). METHODS: The prospective case-control study included 70 patients with postoperative ECFs with an output of 2 cm and without any local complication. They were divided into study (n = 23) and control groups (n = 47). Esophageal, gastric and colocutaneous fistulas were monitored under endoscopic visualization, which also allowed fibrin glue application directly through the external hole. Outcome variables included closure time, time to resume oral feeding and morbidity related to nutritional support. RESULTS: There were no differences in mean age, fistula output, and follow-up. Closure-time for all patients of the study group was 12.5 ± 14.2 d and 32.5 ± 17.9 d for the control group (P < 0.001), and morbidity related to nutritional support was 8.6% and 42.5%, respectively (P < 0.01). In patients with colonic fistulas, complete closure occurred 23.5 ± 19.5 d after the first application of fibrin glue, and spontaneous closure was observed after 36.2 ± 22.8 d in the control group (P = 0.36). Recurrences were observed in 2 patients because of residual disease. One patient of each group died during follow-up as a consequence of septic complications related to parenteral nutrition. CONCLUSION: Closure time was significantly reduced with the use of fibrin sealant, and oral feeding was resumed faster. We suggest the use of fibrin sealant for the management of stable enterocutaneous fistulas.

Given the growth in biodiesel production and other biofuels, it involves large volumes of byproducts which aren"t suitable for commercial use. We studied the glycerol purification by vacuum distillation of the glycerol rich phase in the mixture reaction at the end of the biodiesel production process. Since glycerin is one of those byproducts, useful and plentiful, therefore the options to purify this one and achieve its better trading benefit are interesting. The process was monitored by 1 H NMR and showed that by vacuum fractional distillation of the glycerin rich phase of the biodiesel production it was possible to obtain pure glycerin between 97.4% and 98.9% on dry basis with 49.0% yield. Vacuum distillation without fractionation was inconvenient because it generates thermal degradation of the material and causes the formation of foam which induces low yield of glycerin and hinders the operation progress.

Low dose rate brachytherapy(LDR)is an accepted,effective treatment with few local side effects,used as monotherapy in patients with low-risk prostate cancer(PC).The aim of this paper is to analyse 245 patients treated with LDR in the Radiation Oncology Department of the Hospital Gómez Ulla,from 2004 to 2016,evaluating the relationship of dosimetric parameters with biochemical and local recurrence as well as genitourinary and gastrointestinal toxicity derived from the *** results obtained show a clear relationship between the dose used and biochemical and local failure.
