BACKGROUND The uncertainties about coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),the change in routine,lifestyles and the reduction of physical contact can cause stress,anxiety,emotional overload,poor sleep and even physical health *** To evaluate the scientific publications available on the relationship between COVID-19 and anxiety experienced in the general population,during the period of social isolation,adopted by governmental organizations and public health policymakers as a measure to contain the spread of *** A literature search was performed systematically exploring the PubMed and Medline databases using the following terms classified as MeSH descriptors:(“anxiety”AND“pandemic”AND“COVID-19”).For the search,in the Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde–BVS,***,Web of Science and National Library plat forms, the following keywords were used: ("anxiety" AND "coronavirus" AND"social isolation"). Thirty-seven peer-reviewed articles were found. PRISMA andthe Downs & Black checklist were used for qualitative *** applying the inclusion criteria, seven (n = 7) original scientific articles wereselected. The collated evidence demonstrated increased levels of symptoms ofanxiety and depression during the period of social isolation. The populationbetween 21 to 40 years was most affected. Red Onion (Allium Cepa L.) Methanolic Extract Increases Extracellular Nucleotide Hydrolysis in Rat Serum

Ectonucleotidases are enzymes involved in nucleotides metabolism. The amount of circulating nucleotides may modulate distinct pathophysiological processes in the vasculature, including platelet aggregation and vascular tone. Onion (Allium cepa L.) phenolic compounds modulate enzymatic activity. The present study evaluated the total phenolic content of red onion methanolic extract, its antioxidant capacity, and its ability to interfere in nucleotides hydrolyses in rat serum. Total phenolic content was determined with the Folin-Ciocalteau reagent using gallic acid as a standard, while total flavonoid content was obtained through the aluminum chloride colorimetric method with quercetin as a standard. Antioxidant capacity was evaluated from the ability of the extract to scavenge ABTS·+ and DPPH· radicals. ATP, ADP, AMP, and p-Nph-5'-TMP hydrolyses were colorimetrically determined in response to different onion extract concentrations (0, 125, 250, 500, or 1000 μg/mL). Phenolic content of the extract was 54.35 mg GAE 100 g-1 sample, while flavonoid content was 7.22 mg quercetin g-1 sample. The IC50 value for ABTS·+ was 374.13 ± 7.52 μg/mL, while it was 440.29 ± 15.17 μg/mL for DPPH·. Red onion extract increased ADP and p-Nph-5'-TMP hydrolysis. The results confirmed that red onion contains high content of antioxidant, mainly flavonoids, and high antioxidant capacity. Additionally, biochemical studies suggest that the increased ADP breakdown may be important to regulate vascular processes. As it occurs for other enzymes, the antioxidant capacity of onion extract may neutralize reactive oxygen species (ROS) formation and favor ectonucleotidase activity and the hydrolysis of ADP, a major platelet agonist.

The present study reports bioactive constituents from biquinho pepper,such as carotenoids,capsaicinoids,and capsinoids,identified by *** pepper extract showed an antioxidant potential by DPPH(33.17±0.08%),ORAC(32.35±0.02μM TE/g),β-carotene/linoleic acid(55.80±1.30%),and FRAP(315.88±4.23μmol TE/g)***,in vivo antioxidant analyses demonstrated that the pepper extract(170μg/mL)decreased the damage promoted by H_(2)O_(2) in Saccharomyces cerevisiae *** balls were prepared using different concentrations of pepper(0.0%,0.5%,0.75%,1.0%)to investigate its antioxidant effect during frozen *** pepper effectively reduced the formation of cholesterol oxides and preserved essential fatty acids,mainly in samples containing 1.0%of ***,this treatment was more efficient than sodium erythorbate(pdation was also determined,showing that both cholesterol degradation and cholesterol oxides formation fit a first-order kinetic model(R^(2)>0.8).

Selection of Strains Producing Lipase with Transesterification Activity and Its Characterization

The interest for lipase production is due to the ability of this enzyme to catalyze some reactions, such as the transesterification. Although industrial biodiesel is produced chemically, there are several problems associated with this technology that can be prevented through the use of lipases. The present work aimed to select microorganisms with potential for production of lipase with transesterification activity. The lipase from Burkholderia cepacia was the one with the most promising results for this type of reaction, showing results of hydrolytic activity at 37 ℃and pH 8.0. The pH and volume of crude enzyme extract that showed favorable for synthesis ofbiodiesel is at about pH 6.0 and 3.75 mL, respectively, which represents approximately 42% of water in the system, ensuring the conversion of nearly 60% to biodiesel.

Byrsonima intermedia A Juss. is a species with pharmacological properties from the Brazilian Cerrado that shows difficulties related to sexual propagation. Research on cell viability may provide useful information for the selection of cells with embryogenic potential during the callus culture, Within this context, our research is aimed at establishing the cell viability of calli from Byrsonima intermedia leaf segments. The calli went through three subculture phases, of 60 days each, in MS medium with 0.09 M sucrose, 0.6% agar, pH 5.8 and 4.52 laM 2,4-D. The calli were stored in dark conditions and samples were collected every 10 days from each subculture for viability tests with fluorescein 3,6-diacetate （Fda） and 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride （TTC）. The staining methods allowed quantifying cell viability in each subculture. The best results from the Fda tests were obtained at 21, 25 and 29 days for the first, second and third subcultures respectively, with 53,86%, 61.88% and 53.73% viable cells. Regarding the TTC test, the largest absorbance values were obtained at 21, 27 and 28 days for the first, second and third subcultures respectively. Fluorescence and spectrophotometry analyses were efficient for determination of cell viability during callus cultivation period.
