Ti-6Al-4Zr-2Sn-6Mo alloy is one of the most recent titanium alloys processed using powder bed fusion-laser beam(PBF-LB)*** alloy has the potential to replace Ti-6Al-4V in automotive and aerospace applications,given its superior mechanical properties,which are approximately 10%higher in terms of ultimate tensile strength(UTS)and yield strength after appropriate heat *** as-built conditions,the alloy is characterized by the presence of soft orthorhombicα″martensite,necessitating a postprocessing heat treatment to decompose this phase and enhance the mechanical properties of the ***,PBFed Ti6246 components undergo an annealing process that transforms theα″martensite into anα-βlamellar *** primary objective of this research was to develop a solution treatment and aging(STA)heat treatment tailored to the unique microstructure produced by the additive manufacturing process to achieve an ultrafine bilamellar microstructure reinforced by precipitation *** study investigated the effects of various solution temperatures in theα-βfield(ranging from 800 to 875℃),cooling media(air and water),and aging time to determine the optimal heat treatment parameters for achieving the desired bilamellar *** each heat treatment condition,differentα-βmicrostructures were found,varying in terms of theα/βratio and the size of the primaryα-phase *** attention was given to how these factors were influenced by increases in solution temperature and how microhardness correlated with the percentage of the metastableβphase present after *** tests were performed on samples subjected to the most promising heat treatment parameters.A comparison with literature data revealed that the optimized STA treatment enhanced hardness and UTS by13%and 23%,respectively,compared with those of the annealed *** surface analyses were conducted to investigate fracture mechanisms.

Fruit growth and development consist of a continuous succession of physical,biochemical,and physiological changes driven by a genetic program that dynamically responds to environmental *** recognizable stages over the whole fruit lifetime represents a fundamental requirement for research and fruit crop *** is especially relevant in perennial crops like grapevine(Vitis vinifera L.)to scale the development of its fruit across genotypes and growing *** this work,molecular-based information from several grape berry transcriptomic datasets was exploited to build a molecular phenology scale(MPhS)and to map the ontogenic development of the *** proposed statistical pipeline consisted of an unsupervised learning procedure yielding an innovative combination of semiparametric,smoothing,and dimensionality reduction *** transcriptomic distance between fruit samples was precisely quantified by means of the MPhS that also enabled to highlight the complex dynamics of the transcriptional program over berry development through the calculation of the rate of variation of MPhS stages by *** MPhS allowed the alignment of time-series fruit samples proving to be a complementary method for mapping the progression of grape berry development with higher detail compared to classic time-or phenotype-based approaches.

Digito-rectal examination （DRE） of the prostate provides useful information on the state of prostate growth and on the presence of suspected peripheral nodules. The aim of this study is to describe the clinical and biochemical correlates of finding an enlarged prostate size at DRE in subjects with sexual dysfunction （SD）. A consecutive series of 2379 patients was retrospectively studied. The analysis was focused on a subset of subjects （n = 1823; mean age 54.7± 11.4） selected for being free from overt prostatic diseases. Several parameters were investigated. After adjusting for confounders, the presence of an enlarged prostate size at DRE was associated with a higher risk of metabolic syndrome （HR = 1.346 （1,129-1.759）; P = 0.030）, type 2 diabetes mellitus （HR = 1.489 （1.120-1.980）; P = 0.006）, increased LDL cholesterol （〉100mgdl^-1; HR = 1.354 （1.018-1.801）; P = 0.037） and increased mean blood pressure （BP） values （HR = 1.017 （1.007-1.027） for each mmHg increment; P = 0.001）. Accordingly, enlarged prostate size was also associated with a higher risk of arteriogenic erectile dysfunction （ED）, as well as with other andrological conditions, such as varicocele and premature ejaculation （PE）. PSA levels were significantly higher in subjects with enlarged prostate size when compared to the rest of the sample （HR = 3.318 （2.304; 4.799） for each log unit increment in PSA levels; P 〈 0.0001）. Arteriogenic ED, according to different criteria, was also associated with increased PSA levels. In conclusion, our data support the need to examine prostate size either by clinical （DRE） or biochemical （PSA） inspection in subjects with SD, in order to have insights into the nature of the SD and the metabolic and cardiovascular （CV） background of the patient.
