Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries,although a promising candidate of next-generation energy storage devices,are hindered by some bottlenecks in their roadmap toward *** key challenges include solving the issues such as low utilization of active materials,poor cyclic stability,poor rate performance,and unsatisfactory Coulombic efficiency due to the inherent poor electrical and ionic conductivity of sulfur and its discharged products(e.g.,Li2S2 and Li_(2)S),dissolution and migration of polysulfide ions in the electrolyte,unstable solid electrolyte interphase and dendritic growth on an odes,and volume change in both cathodes and *** to the high specific surface area,pore volume,low density,good chemical stability,and particularly multimodal pore sizes,hierarchical porous carbon(HPC)mate rials have received considerable attention for circumventing the above pro blems in Li-S ***,recent progress made in the synthetic methods and deployment of HPC materials for various components including sulfur cathodes,separators and interlayers,and lithium anodes in Li-S batteries is presented and *** importantly,the correlation between the structures(pore volume,specific surface area,degree of pores,and heteroatom-doping)of HPC and the electrochemical performances of Li-S batteries is ***,a discussion on the challenges and future perspectives associated with HPCs for Li-S batteries is provided.

Steroids continue to be the cornerstone of immune suppression since the early days of organ *** are key component of induction protocols,maintenance therapy and in the treatment of various forms of *** steroid use resulted in significant side effects on almost all the body organs owing to the presence of steroid receptors in most of the mammalian *** allograft recipients had to accept the short and long term complications of steroids because of lack of effective *** situation changed with the introduction of newer and more effective immune suppression agents with a relatively more acceptable side effect *** a result,the clinicians have been contemplating if it is the time to abandon the unquestionable reliance on maintenance steroids in modern transplantation *** review aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of various steroid-minimization approaches(steroid avoidance,early steroid withdrawal,and late steroid withdrawal)in kidney transplant recipients.A meticulous electronic search was conducted through the available data resources like SCOPUS,MEDLINE,and Liverpool University library *** articles obtained through our search were included.A total number of 90 articles were eligible to be included in this review[34 randomised controlled trials(RCT)and 56 articles of other research modalities].All articles were evaluating the safety and efficacy of various steroidfree approaches in comparison to maintenance *** will cover only the RCT articles in this *** used in right clinical context,steroid-free protocols proved to be comparable to steroid-based maintenance *** appropriate approach should be tailored individually according to each recipient immunological challenges and clinical condition.

Background: Spontaneous gallbladder perforation(GBP) is an uncommon diagnosis. This study presented the experience of managing spontaneous GBP over nine years at a large, tertiary care university hospital in north India and investigated the outcomes and treatment strategies. Methods: A retrospective review of prospectively maintained digital database of consecutive patients was performed. All patients received medical and/or surgical treatment for spontaneous GBP in our department between January 2010 and June 2018. Results: We identifed 151 patients(81 females and 70 males) with mean age of 53 years. Most common presenting features were pain(96.7%), fever(54.3%) and jaundice(31.1%). Most common cause was gallbladder stones(84.8%) followed by common bile duct stones(30.5%), xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis(17.9%) and malignancy(11.9%). As per Niemeier classifcation, 8.6% had type 1 GBP(free perforation in peritoneal cavity), 76.2% had type 2 GBP(localized perforation) and 13.2% had type 3 GBP(cholecystoenteric fstula). About 60% of the perforations were diagnosed preoperatively. Type 1 was more common in patients with diabetes and also had the worst prognosis. Surgery was performed in 109 patients(72.2%). Seven patients(4.6%) had a postoperative morbidity of Clavien-Dindo Ⅲ or higher. There were three mortalities in patients who underwent surgery. Conclusions: High index of suspicion is required for preoperative diagnosis of GBP, especially in types 2 and 3. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy can be difficult in these patients and patients may require open or partial cholecystectomy. Early diagnosis and step-up approach for the treatment of GBP is critical.

Fine-grained image search is one of the most challenging tasks in computer vision that aims to retrieve similar images at the fine-grained level for a given query *** key objective is to learn discriminative fine-grained features by training deep models such that similar images are clustered,and dissimilar images are separated in the low embedding *** works primarily focused on defining local structure loss functions like triplet loss,pairwise loss,***,training via these approaches takes a long training time,and they have poor ***,representations learned through it tend to tighten up in the embedded space and lose generalizability to unseen *** paper proposes a noise-assisted representation learning method for fine-grained image retrieval to mitigate these *** the proposed work,class manifold learning is performed in which positive pairs are created with noise insertion operation instead of tightening class *** other instances are treated as negatives within the same *** a loss function is defined to penalize when the distance between instances of the same class becomes too small relative to the noise pair in that class in embedded *** proposed approach is validated on CARS-196 and CUB-200 datasets and achieved better retrieval results(85.38%recall@1 for CARS-196%and 70.13%recall@1 for CUB-200)compared to other existing methods.

We calculate the mass spectra of the singly charmed baryons （∧＋ c, ∑0 c,[I]0c and Ω0 c） using the hypercentral constituent quark model （hCQM）. The hyper color Coulomb plus linear potential is used to calculate the masses ofpositive （up to JP = 7＋/2 ）9 and negative （up to JP = 9-/2）parity excited states. The spin-spin, spin-orbital and tensorinteraction terms are-also incorporated for mass spectra. We have compared our results with other theoretical and lattice QCD predictions for each baryon. Moreover, the known experimental results are also reasonably close to our predicted masses. By using the radial and orbital excitation, we construct Regge trajectories for the baryons in the （n,M2） plane and find their slopes and intercepts. Other properties of these baryons, like magnetic moments, radiative transitions and radiative decay widths, are also calculated successfully.

Subcritical and supercritical water gasification of petroleum coke and asphaltene was performed at variable temperatures(350–650°C),feed concentrations(15–30 wt%)and reaction times(15–60 min).Nickel-impregnated activated carbon(Ni/AC)was synthesized as a catalyst for enhancing syngas yields at optimal gasification conditions(650°C,15 wt%and 60 min).Structural chemistry of precursors and chars developed at different gasification temperatures was studied using physicochemical and synchrotronbased approaches such as carbon–hydrogen–nitrogen–sulfur(CHNS)analysis,thermogravimetric and differential thermogravimetric analysis(TGA/DTA),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),Fourier-Transform Infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),Raman spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction(XRD)and X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XAS).Asphaltene testified to be a better precursor for catalytic hydrothermal gasification leading to 11.97 mmol/g of total gas yield compared to petroleum coke(8.04 mmol/g).In particular,supercritical water gasification using 5 wt%Ni/AC at 650°C with 15 wt%feed concentration for 60 min resulted in 4.17 and 2.98 mmol/g of H_2from asphaltene and petroleum coke,*** the same conditions,the respective CH_4yields from catalytic gasification of asphaltene and petroleum coke were 2.54and 1.07 mmol/***,asphaltene also seemed to an attractive feedstock for the production of highly aromatic chars through hydrothermal gasification.

Dissemination of vancomycin resistance from hospital to community strains is a serious threat to public health. Our study aimed to provide evidence for transmission of Van A type resistance from the hospital to the community. Wild-type community and hospital associated methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains were studied in vitro and in a model that mimicked a natural environment to ascertain their ability to acquire and maintain the vancomycin resistance determinant （Van A gene） from vancomycin resistant Enterococcus faecalis. Fitness was assessed and the cost of Van A acquisition and retention was estimated. In vitro mating experiments were carried out using a filter mating technique and a model of a natural water body environment. Transfer of resistance was carried out in two different conditions： restricted and favorable. Transconjugants were confirmed by E test and PCR using specific primer sets. Growth kinetics and fitness measurements were done by spectrometric analysis. Using the in vitro filter mating technique, high transfer frequencies that ranged from 0.7 × 10^-3（0.0006） to 3.1 ×10^-4（0.00011） were recorded, with the highest transfer frequencies for CA MRSA （thermosensitively homogenous）（0.7 × 10^- 3）, and 1.2 × 10^-4 to 2.4 × 10^-4 in the model. HA MRSA （homogenous） showed a greater capacity （3.6 ×10^-4） to receive the Van A gene, while CA MRSA showed a reduced ability to maintain the gene after serial subcultures. CA and HA thermosensitively heterogeneous MRSA transconjugants exhibited higher growth rates. The present study provides evidence for the enhanced ability of CA and HA MRSA clones to acquire and maintain Van A type resistance.
