A green, simple and highly efficient synthesis of N,N-diarylsubstituted formamidines has been developed employs reaction of triethylorthoformate (TEO) with aromatic amines catalyzed by cerium (IV) ammonium nitrate (CAN) in water at ambient temperature. This method offers the advantages of proceeding under environmentally friendly technique with high yields and simplicity either in conducting the reaction or handling the products.

BACKGROUND Pancreatic cystic lesions(PCLs) are common in clinical practice. The accurate classification and diagnosis of these lesions are crucial to avoid unnecessary treatment of benign lesions and missed opportunities for early treatment of potentially malignant *** To evaluate the role of cyst fluid analysis of different tumor markers such as cancer antigens [e.g., cancer antigen(CA)19-9, CA72-4], carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA), serine protease inhibitor Kazal-type 1(SPINK1), interleukin 1 beta(IL1-β), vascular endothelial growth factor A(VEGF-A), and prostaglandin E2(PGE2)], amylase, and mucin stain in diagnosing pancreatic cysts and differentiating malignant from benign *** This study included 76 patients diagnosed with PCLs using different imaging modalities. All patients underwent endoscopic ultrasound(EUS) and EUS-fine needle aspiration(EUS-FNA) for characterization and sampling of different *** The mean age of studied patients was 47.4 ± 11.4 years, with a slight female predominance(59.2%). Mucin stain showed high statistical significance in predicting malignancy with a sensitivity of 87.1% and specificity of 95.56%. It also showed a positive predictive value and negative predictive value of 93.1% and 91.49%, respectively(P < 0.001). We found that positive mucin stain, cyst fluid glucose, SPINK1, amylase, and CEA levels had high statistical significance(P < 0.0001). In contrast, IL-1β, CA 72-4, VEGF-A, VEGFR2, and PGE2 did not show any statistical significance. Univariate regression analysis for prediction of malignancy in PCLs showed a statistically significant positive correlation with mural nodules, lymph nodes, cyst diameter, mucin stain, and cyst fluid CEA. Major depressive disorder(MDD)is a common,serious,debilitating condition affecting 350 million people worldwide,which remains to be unsatisfactorily treated with 53%of patients still complaining of symptoms after completing their courses with the correct ***,which was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2019,is a potential treatment option for those recalcitrant *** mechanism of ketamine is not fully understood,but as type it is classified as an N-methyl-D-aspartate(NMDA)glutamate receptor antagonist,and can be given intravenously,intranasally and *** is used to treat treatment-resistant depression,depression associated with suicidal ideation,mood and anxiety disorders and depressions associated with either type of bipolar *** ketamine is considered relatively safe,several side effects have been reported with the major ones being psychiatric in the form of worsening mood,anxiety and agitation;psychotomimetic in the form of dissociation,perceptual disturbance and abnormal sensations;cardiovascular in the form of increased blood pressure and increased heart rate;and neurological in the form of headache and *** is still not approved worldwide for usage in patients with treatment-resistant MDD,but if it is approved sometime in the future with relatively fewer side effects,it is expected to significantly save millions of dollars spent yearly on patients with treatment-resistant depression and that will lift this major burden off the shoulders of healthcare *** study was designed to measure the effects of ketamine,an NMDA receptor antagonist,on patients with treatment-resistant MDD and to analyse the concept that makes it different and relatively safer than other major antidepressants like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors,monoamine oxidase inhibitors and TCAs(tricyclic antidepressants).
