Introduction: f.broscan is a recent, non-invasive and non-irradiating diagnostic method. It is based on the principle of.ultrasound, which enables liver tissue elasticity to be quantif.ed using a probe, and f.brosis to be assessed. f.broscan measures both elasticity correlated with hepatic f.brosis and CAP correlated with steatosis. The aim of.this study was to evaluate hepatic f.brosis and steatosis using pulse elastometry (f.broscan/CAP). Methods: This was a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study in which 170 patients were included. It was conducted f.om October 1 2021 to December 31 2023, i.e. 27 months, in an outpatient clinic in the hepato-gastroenterology department of.the Donka national hospital of.the CHU Conakry. Results: Of.the 170 patients identif.ed, 87 were male (51%) and 83 f.male (49%), giving a M/f.sex ratio of.1.04. The average age of.our patients was 40. The 30 - 50 age group was the most af.ected, with a f.equency of.58.23% (n = 99), f.llowed by the 50 age group with a f.equency of.29.41% (n = 50). Hepatomegaly, steatotic liver on ultrasonography, transaminase elevation and obesity were the main indications, respectively: (21.76%), (17.65%), (14.71%), and (13.53%). The examinations were requested by hepatogastroenterologists (47.06%), diabetologists (35.88%) and general practitioners (29%). Of.the 170 patients, 100 patients (58.82%) had no signif.cant f.brosis f.f., 39 (22.94%) had moderate f.brosis f., 20 patients (11.76%) had severe f.brosis f. and 11 patients (6.47%) had f.brosis f.. Hepatic steatosis: 62 patients (36.47%) had no S0 steatosis;29.41% had S1 steatosis, 20% had S2 steatosis and 24 patients (14.11%) had S3 steatosis. Abdominal ultrasound revealed a normal liver in 67.05% of.patients, hepatic steatosis in 29.41% and non-decompensated cirrhosis in 6 cases. Ef.ect of.Three Dif.erent Growth Media on Yield and Oil Constituents of.Rosemary （Rosmarinus of.icinalis L.） under Protected Agriculture Conditions

Medicinal plants provide an important source of.cure since ancient time. Poor soil resources, scarce and saline water and the harsh environment limited the production of.plants in the Arabian Gulf.countries. This study aimed to investigate the production potential of.rosemary （Rosmarinus of.icinalis L.） grown on dif.erent growth media under greenhouse conditions. Three growth media agricultural soil, compost and hydroponic system were used, whereas tuf. （inert volcanic material） was used as substrate. The result indicated that the high salinity of.the agricultural soil limited growth and oil yield in rosemary. Shoot height increased in 11 weeks, by 62%, 65% and 114% in plants grown in agricultural soil, hydroponic system and compost, respectively. Na content in plants grown in agricultural soil was signif.cantly higher than in plants grown in the other treatment. Essential oil yield in plants grown in compost exceeded those in agricultural soil by 114%. Essential oil content （0.66%-1.5% w/w） and chemical constituents concentrations did not change signif.cantly with growth media. The main constituents, more or less, are comparable to essential oils constituents reported f.om other countries. In comparison, better yields are obtained f.r individual components of.the oils of.plants grown under our green house conditions. This study demonstrated the great potential of.commercial production of.rosemary in the greenhouse without compromising the oil quality and oil yield.

Objective:To explore the ef.ect of.Persea americana supplementation on inf.ammation,oxidative stress,and lipid prof.les in ovariectomized rats f.d with a high-f.t diet and exposed to ***:The control group was sham operated,while groups 2-5 were ovariectomized and f.d a high-f.t *** 4 and 5 were exposed toγ-radiation(1 Gy/week f.r 5 weeks)af.er *** 3 and 5 were treated with 1 mL/250 g/day of.Persea americana f.r one *** levels of.estrogen,alanine aminotransf.rase,aspartate aminotransf.rase,cholesterol,triglycerides and lipoproteins were ***,hepatic oxidative stress,inf.ammatory and f.brogenic markers were ***:Persea americana treatment reduced the oxidative stress markers as well as the levels of.triglyceride,total cholesterol,and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol,which in turn lowered hepatic f.t ***,it suppressed hepatic inf.ammatory mediators(interleukin-6,tumor necrosis f.ctor-α,and C-reactive protein)and downregulated pro-f.brogenic markers(transf.rming growth f.ctor-βand tissue inhibitor of.metalloproteinase-1).Conclusions:Persea americana provides protection against ovariectomy,and gamma radiation-mediated hepatic inf.ammation not only through its antioxidant,anti-inf.ammatory,lipid-lowering ef.ect but also by modulating the f.brogenic markers.

Joint Optimal Power Source Sizing and Data Collection Trip Planning f.r Advanced Metering Inf.astructure Enabled by Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

The use of.unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) in the collection of.data f.om wireless devices, sensor nodes, and the Internet of.Things(IoT) devices has recently received signif.cant attention. In this paper, we investigate the data collection process f.om a set of.smart meters in advanced metering inf.astructure(AMI) enabled by UAVs. The objective is to minimize the total annual cost of.the electric utility by jointly optimizing the number of.UAVs, their power source sizing, the charging locations as well as the data collection trip planning. This is achieved while considering the energy budgets of.batteries of.UAVs and the required amount of.collected data. The problem is f.rmulated as a mixed-integer nonlinear programming(MINLP), which is decoupled into two sub-problems where a candidate UAV and a number of.buildings are f.rst grouped into trips via genetic algorithms(GAs), and then the optimum trip path is f.und using a traveling salesman problem(TSP) branch and bound algorithm. Simulation results show that the battery capacity or the number of.UAVs increases as the coverage area or the density increases.

Hybridization between microstructure and magnetization improvement in lead and RE co-doped Bif.O_3

The crystal structure,magnetic and electrical properties of.Bi（0.96）Pb（0.04） f.O3 and Bi（0.92）Pb（0.04）RE（0.04）f.O3（RE=La,Sm,Dy and Yb）polycrystalline samples were prepared by the f.ash autocombustion technique.X-ray dif.raction（XRD）measurements show that the rare-earth doped compositions crystallized in rhombohedral symmetry of.space group R3 *** undoped sample consisted needle shape particles while rare earth substitution pref.rred platelet like particles as clarif.ed f.om high resolution transmission electron microscopy（HRTEM）.Morphological f.atures were examined using f.eld emission scanning electron microscopy（f.SEM）.Magnetization measurements showed that Yb^3＋ samples possessed the highest room temperature saturation magnetization while when Bi^3＋ ions were substituted by La^3＋ ions,a smaller MS（0.28 emu/g）was *** coexistence of.f.rroelectric and magnetic transitions was detected using DSC and χM,indicating the multif.rroic characteristics of.Bi（0.92）Pb（0.04）RE（0.04）f.O3 *** Néel temperature shif.ed upwards with decreasing the ionic radius of.rare earth *** correlation was established between microstructure,morphology and magnetic properties in view of.the contribution of.magnetocrystalline and shape anisotropy in the magnetic parameters values.

Applications of.Thermal Imaging in Agriculture—A Review

In thermal remote sensing the invisible radiation patterns of.objects are converted into visible images and these images are called thermograms or thermal images. Thermal images can be acquired using portable, hand-held or thermal sensors that are coupled with optical systems mounted on an airplane or satellite. This technology is a non-invasive, non-contact and non-destructive technique used to determine thermal properties and f.atures of.any object of.interest and theref.re it can be used in many f.elds, where heat is generated or lost in space and time. Potential use of.thermal remote sensing in agriculture includes nursery and greenhouse monitoring, irrigation scheduling, plants disease detection, estimating f.uit yield, evaluating maturity of.f.uits and bruise detection in f.uits and vegetables. This paper reviews the application of.thermal imaging in agriculture and its potential use in various agricultural practices.
