An in-vitro experiment was conducted to assess the interaction between biochar and algae on a problem soil. Experiments were performed with and without algae to observe the effectiveness of algae for overcoming the challenges posed by problem soils. At the end of incubation periods, the adsorption and desorption of phosphorus (P) on a problem soil vis-á-vis algal inoculation were determined. Our results showed that different types of biochars adsorbed different amounts of P suggesting that the source of biochar played a crucial role in determining its behavior towards P. Tannery waste biochar significantly adsorbed 147% and 35% more P compared to that of the chicken litter and orange peel biochars respectively. Significant reductions in adsorption were observed when the biochar was used in combination with the algae which could be due to the beneficial effects of algae leading to the amelioration of the problem soil. Adsorption was reduced to 34%, 24% and 20% for the orange peel biochar + algae, chicken litter biochar + algae and tannery waste biochar + algae, respectively compared to the corresponding biochars present as a single solid. Phosphorus (P) desorption was also reduced significantly in presence of algal inoculation. Overall our findings suggest that the application of algae along with biochar in the problem soil could reduce the adsorption of P which would influence the availability of P.

The Atlantic tripletail (Lobotes surinamensis) is a high revenue-generating fish species predominantly caught by mechanized artisanal fishers community and the most available member of its family in *** is a ground work of fish stock assessment study in the Bay of Bengal region to explore the life history parameters and associated biomass of this species,using three length-based approaches of TropFishR,the length-based Bayesian biomass estimation (LBB),and Froese’s lengthbased indicators (LBIs).An almost homogenous body growth pattern (b=3.07;R2=0.98) was observed in the length-weight relationship of *** life history parameters for tripletail,as determined by the von Bertalanffy Growth Function (VBGF) model,were L∞=113.36 cm and k=0.51/*** length converted catch curve (LCCC) yielded an estimation of the total mortality (Z=1.77/a),with the natural mortality estimated at (M=0.53/a) and the fishing mortality estimated at (F=1.24/a).But,the ratio of mortality(F/M=0.15) by LBB captured the non-fully exploited status of biomass (B/BMSY=2.1).LBI analysis indicated that the tripletail fishery’s spawning stock biomass is greater than the target and limit reference points,indicating a healthy state of biomass.

A dual-stage servo system consists of a primary coarse actuator for facilitating large motion and a secondary micro-actuator for small but precise motion to improve tracking performance. Piezoelectric micro-actuator made from lead zirconate titanate(PZT)has been a popular choice for the secondary stage. However, the advantage gained by the resolution of the secondary PZT actuator is reduced by its inherent hysteresis nonlinearity. Model based hysteresis compensation techniques are preferred due to their simplicity and fast response. Identification and modeling are two substantial parts in such model-based techniques. This paper presents a rigorous analysis and modeling of the hysteresis of PZT micro-actuator. Modified Generalized Prandtl-Ishlinskii and Coleman-Hodgdon models are studied. Identification of the model through nonlinear least square and particle swarm optimization are examined and compared. Several analyses are done through tuning of the model parameters and identification *** analysis and simulation results underscore the effectiveness of this modeling approach. Finally as a design example,a dual-stage simulation analysis is done to show the effectiveness of systematic modeling on hysteresis compensation.

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of different water and fertilizer applications on biomass,yield and fruit physical quality of greenhouse cucumber under drip *** experiment was conducted at Water Conservancy Research Institute,Shenbei District,Shenyang,Northern China during February-July,*** treatments were used in randomized block design consisted of three levels of water field capacity(FC)and urea-potash(N-K)fertilizer combinations:W1(65%of FC),W_(2)(75%of FC),W3(85%of FC)and N_(1)-K_(1)(285-305 kg/hm^(2)),N2-K2(420-435 kg/hm^(2)),N_(3)-K_(3)(530-565 kg/hm^(2)).Local farmers’conventional application of water(100%)and fertilizer(NPK)was considered as check(CK)for *** obtained was analyzed(ANOVA)to check the significant effect of *** results revealed that,treatment W_(3)N_(2)K_(1) obtained highest cucumber yield of 129.99 t/hm^(2),while W_(1)N_(1)K_(1) recorded the lowest yield(113.29 t/hm^(2)),in which total amount of seasonal water applied ranges from 85.3 mm to 172.36 *** highest yield was obtained 0.5%greater than the CK yield(129.35 t/hm^(2)).The water and fertilizer application was significantly(pal *** was also revealed that,the highest green biomass accumulation(572.4 g/plant)and fruit diameter(27.92 mm)with treatment W_(3)N_(2)K_(1) have significant influence on improved *** conclusion,the improved cucumber yield indicated 15%deficit water tolerance,in which average seasonal yield response factor(Ky)was calculated as ***,the treatment W_(3)N_(2)K_(1) could successfully be used to minimize water and fertilizer application for improving greenhouse cucumber yield.

Fault detection or identification is highly important to fabric quality ***,faults are detected by human *** efficiency of this manual technique is low and the missed rate is high because of eye *** the best case,a quality control person cannot detect more than 60–70 % of the present *** this study a Hybrid technique is developed to identify complex faults of warp-knitted fabrics *** this system,we use smart cameras and a Human Machine Interface（HMI）*** hybrid detection or identification algorithm is comprised of numerous single techniques such as Gabor filter,PCNN,morphological filter,and another associated technique（Binarizing）those are running on the SOC processor of the smart camera for identifying distinctive types of complex faults on ***,Gabor filters are employed to enhance the contrast of images captured by a CMOS *** fault is not detected after Gabor filter it goes through ***,fault areas are segmented by PCNN with adaptive parameter ***,for making the PCNN output more clear and faults more obvious,the morphological filter has been used in this detection or identification ***,smart cameras will notice the controller to stop the warp-knitting machine once faults are found *** results demonstrate that the hybrid technique is superior to Gabor and PCNN techniques on fabric complex faults detection or identification *** this hybrid technique we get 97.08% fault detection or identification accuracy which is superior to Gabor and PCNN *** operations in a textile factory can be verified the effectiveness of the inspection system.

We investigated the floristic composition, woody species diversity and spatial distribution of trees in a tropical wet evergreen forest in Kaptai national park in Chittagong Hill Tracks, Bangladesh. We recorded 25 families, 37 genera, 40 species and 1771 woody individuals in a 0.09 ha plot. Euphorbiaceae and Moraceae were the most species- rich families, and Castanopsis, Ficus and Terminaliawere the most species-rich genera. Bursera serrata Wall. ex Colebr. was the dominant species in terms of highest importance value （13%）. Trema orientalis （L.） B1 was typically a light demanding species as it appeared in the top can- opy with only one individual having the seventh highest IV, but had no regeneration. The expected maximum number of species （Smax） was 140, indicating that many species may invade the forest as the Sm~ is greater than the recorded total number of species. The nature of the disappear- ance and appearance of species in the present forest reflects instability of floristic composition. The values of Shannon＇s index H＇ and Pielou＇s index J＇（evenness） were 3.36 bit and 0.63, respectively. These values show moderately high species diversity as compared to other subtropical forests in the tropics. In addition, a sample area of 200 m2 in this forest would be sufficient for measuring the diversity indices H＂ and ,/＇, whereas the trend of J＇may indicate the rate of equality of individuals among the different species decreased with increasing area. The distribu- tion pattern for the total stand was completely random. However, the dominant species showed aggregate distribution for small areas, but random distribution for large areas. The spatial association between species showed that the strongest positive interspecific association occurred between Streblus asper Lour. and Castanea indica Roxh. （09 = 0.51）.
