To m.xim.ze energy profit with the participation of electricity,natural gas,and district heating networks in the day-ahead m.rket,stochastic scheduling of energy hubs taking into account the uncertainty of photovoltaic and wind resources,has been carried *** has been done using a new m.ta-heuristic algorithm.im.roved artificial rabbits optim.zation(IARO).In this study,the uncertainty of solar and wind energy sources is m.deled using Hang’s two-point estim.ting m.thod(TPEm..The IARO algorithm.is applied to calculate the best capacity of hub energy equipm.nt,such as solar and wind renewable energy sources,com.ined heat and power(CHP)system.,steam.oilers,energy storage,and electric cars in the *** standard ARO algorithm.s developed to m.m.c the foraging behavior of rabbits,and in this work,the algorithm.s effectiveness in avoiding prem.ture convergence is im.roved by using the dystudynam.c inertia weight *** proposed IARO-based scheduling fram.work’s perform.nce is evaluated against that of traditional ARO,particle swarm.optim.zation(PSO),and salp swarm.algorithm.SSA).The findings show that,in com.arison to previous approaches,the suggested m.ta-heuristic scheduling fram.work based on the IARO has increased energy profit in day-ahead electricity,gas,and heating m.rkets by satisfying the operational and energy hub ***,the results show that TPEm.approach dependability consideration decreased hub energy’s profit by 8.995%as com.ared to determ.nistic planning.

To increase the payload,reduce energy consum.tion,im.rove work efficiency and therefore m.st accordingly reduce the total hull weight of the *** paper introduces a design optim.zation process for the pressurehull of subm.rines under uniform.external hydrostatic pressure using bothfinite elem.nt analysis(FEA)and optim.zation tools.A com.rehensive study about the optim.m.design of the pressure hull,to m.nim.ze the weight and increase the volum.,to reach m.nim.m.buoyancy factor and m.xim.m.operating depth m.nim.zing the buoyancy factor(B.F)is taken as an objective function with constraints of plate and fram. yielding,general instability and *** optim.zation process contains m.ny design variables such as pressure-hull plate thickness,unsupported spacing,dim.nsions of long and ring beam. andfinally the elliptical subm.rsible pressure-hull *** optim.zation process was conducted using ANSYS param.tric design language(APDL)and *** m.lti-Island Genetic Algorithm.G.A)is considered to conduct the optim.zation ***,param.tric analysis is done on the pressure hull to exam.ne the effect of different design variables on the pressure-hull *** a result,the B.F of the proposed optim.l m.del is reduced by an average of 31.78%com.ared with Reference m.del(Rm..m.xim.m.von m.ses stress is reduced by 27%as *** results can be helpful for subm.rine pressure-hull designers.

m.gnetic assem.ly at the nanoscale level brings potential possibilities in obtaining novel delicate nanostructures with unique physical, photonic or electronic properties. Interface surfactant m.celle-directed assem.ly strategy holds great prom.sing in fabricating ordered m.soporous m.terials with m.ltifunctionality and pore param.ter tunability. Com.ing these, herein, one-dim.nsional (1D) nanochains with well-aligned silica-coated m.gnetic particles as core and m.soporous alum.nosilicate as shell are rational fabricated for the first tim. through m.gnetic field induced interface coassem.ly in biliquid system.followed by the incorporation of Al species via in-situ chem.cal m.dification and transform.tion strategy. The obtained m.gnetic m.soporous alum.nosilicate nanochains (m.AS-NCs) possess well-defined core-shell-shell sandwich nanostructure, tunable perpendicular m.sopore channels in the shell (2.7–7.6 nm., high surface area (359 m.(2)·g^(-1)), abundant acidic sites, and superparam.gnetism.with a m.gnetization saturation of 13.8 em.·g^(-1). Thanks to the unique properties, the m.AS-NCs exhibit excellent perform.nce in acting as m.gnetically recyclable superior solid acid catalysts and nanostirrers with high conversion of over 96.8%, selectivity of 95.0% in the deprotection reaction of benzaldehyde dim.thylacetal to benzaldehyde. m.reover, m.AS-NCs exhibit an interesting pore size effect on the catalytic activity, nam.ly, in the pore size range of 2–8 nm. the catalysts with larger pores show significantly enhanced catalytic activity due to the balanced m.ss transport and density of surface active sites.

Tankyrase1(TNKS1)plays an essential role in cancer progression by regulating telom.re *** study aim.d to determ.ne expression of TNKS1 and its regulation in colorectal cancer(CRC)in 20 sam.les from.Saudi *** expression of TNKS1 in CRC and paired norm.l tissues was m.asured by *** m.dification of TNKS1 prom.ter was determ.ned by m.thylation-specific PCR while som.tic m.tation was analyzed by Sanger sequencing in exon 10 of the *** cancerous and norm.l tissues expressed TNKS1,but level of expression in CRC tissues was significantly associated with tum.r stage though no other param.ters;age,gender,and tum.r location,showed any *** of TNKS1 was m.rkedly higher in earlier(I,II)than in later(Ⅲ,Ⅳ)stages of CRC *** cancerous and healthy tissues had unm.thylated *** sequencing of exon 10 m.sked any som.tic m.tation in the *** findings suggest that up-regulation of TNKS1 was inversely correlated with cancer progression in CRC,indicating that TNKS1 participates in the initiation of CRC by stabilizing telom.re length in the first phase of cancer *** other than TNKS1 m.ght play a role in m.lignant tum.r progression and telom.re m.intenance in the late stages of CRC.

Identification and Characterization of Bacterial Com.unity Associated with the Chewed Feeding Waste of Red Palm.Weevil in Infested Date Palm.Trees

Red palm.weevil (RPW), Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Olivier) (Coleoptera, Curculionidae), is considered one of the m.st dam.ging insect pests of date palm. in the Kingdom.of Bahrain. Large scale infestation of RPW to date palm.trees leads to excessive feeding activity of the RPW larvae, which is carried out by m.croorganism. present within RPW and producing a wet ferm.nting m.terial inside the trunk. Culture dependent-bacteria were isolated from.feeding waste and identified by the sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene using 8F and 1492R universal prim.rs. Am.ng the culture-dependent isolated bacteria, 80% were identified by com.aring 16S rRNA gene sequence in NCBI database, using BLAST program.in GenBank. 85% of the identified bacteria were Gram.positive while the rest of them.were Gram.negative. A high abundance of bacteria were from.the Bacillaceae fam.ly and sixteen different species of Bacillus were identified in com.arison with NCBI GenBank. The 16S rRNA gene sequences of identified bacterial strains have been subm.tted to GenBank. The phylogenetic relationship was studied using 16S rRNA gene sequences, the Gram.negative bacteria cam. in one clade while Gram.positive different Bacillus sp. and strains showed evolutionary closeness to each other and accordingly, they cam. in one m.jor clade under three different sub-clades in the phylogenetic tree. The findings of new Bacillus strains in the natural habitat of the date plam.trees in the Kingdom.of Bahrain, pledge a vast area of research on RPW bio-control research arena.

DNA Barcoding and Identification of m.dicinal Plants in the Kingdom.of Bahrain

Authentication of m.dicinally im.ortant plants is essential for increasingly dem.nds of herbal rem.dies worldwide. DNA barcoding technology is currently gaining im.ortance as a reliable tool for plant species identification, although one barcode gene is not enough in the exceptions. Short sequence diversity of standardized specific coding gene regions of rbcLa and m.tK of plastid genom. together with noncoding ribosom.l internal transcribed spacer 2 (ITS2) m.rker is used as barcode to com.are and differentiate plant species. The success of obtaining sequences of the 29 analyzed plants distributed in 21 fam.lies using three different barcode genes rbcLa, m.tK and ITS2 were 97%, 79% and 75% respectively. m.ltiple sequence alignm.nt confirm.d the m.dicinal plants at species level by 89.28%, 86.32% and 60.86% obtained through rbcLa, ITS2 and m.tK barcodes sequences respectively. The genetic distance between sequence pairs (GD) and percentage identity (PI) is com.ared to analyze the plant identity at species level. The phylogenic trees constructed to show the relatedness and distance of the analyzed plants in the history of evolution by the analysis of richness of clades. The construction of DNA barcode library of desert m.dicinal plants is an introductory research arena in Kingdom.of Bahrain in helping the routine identification of plants, and developing guidelines for detection of adulterants in herbal m.dicines as well as protection of biodiversity.

Efficacy of intragastric balloon on weight reduction:Saudi perspective

AIm.To evaluate the safety and efficacy of intragastric balloon(IGB) in weight reduction in obese patients referred to a tertiary hospital in the Kingdom.of Saudi *** Three hundred and one consecutive obese individuals, who underwent IGB placem.nt during January 2009 to m.y 2015, were analyzed. The subjects aged 18 to 60 years and had a m.nim.m.body m.ss index(Bm.) of 27 kg/m.2. The IGB was placed under conscious sedation and kept for 6 m.. Anthropom.tric m.asurem.nts were recorded during and after 6 m. of IGB *** The body weight, excess body weight, and Bm. were significantly reduced at the tim. of IGB rem.val and 6 m. later. Body weight loss > 10% was achieved in 224 subjects at rem.val of IGB. End of treatm.nt success and long-term.success were both significantly observed in wom.n(70 vs 11)(71 vs 12.5) respectively. Excess Bm. loss was significantly higher in subjects retaining the IGB for over 6 m. both at the rem.val [43.44 ± 19.46(n = 221) vs 55.60 ± 28.69(n = 80); t = 4.19, P = 0.0001] as well as at the end of 6 m.' follow-up [46.57 ± 24.89(n = 221) vs 63.52 ± 31.08(n = 80); t = 4.87, P = 0.0001]. Within 3 d of IGB placem.nt, two subjects developed pancreatitis and one subject developed cardiac arrhythm.a. Intestinal obstruction due to displacem.nt of IGB occurred in two subjects. Allthese subjects recovered uneventfully after im.ediate rem.val of the IGB. CONCLUSION IGB was effective in our cohorts. The observed weight reduction was m.intained for at least 6 m. post IGB rem.val. IGB placem.nt was safe with a satisfactory tolerance rate.

When discussing the roots of Arab theatre, we find ourselves confronting two m.in stream. of thought. The first one, represented by prom.nent Arab writers like Najib m.hfuz, Abbas A1-Aqqad, m. Badawi, and other critics, rejects the theory that an Arab theatre existed before the m.d-19th century. The second stream. represented by prom.nent scholars like Ali A1-Rai, Ibrahim.Ham.da and S. m.reh, see m.dern Arab theatre as part of a continuum. em.hasizing of som. elem.nts of dram.tic m.nifestations in Arab literary heritage. This paper intends to exam.ne these two stream., their evidences and argum.nts. Such exam.nation will shed som. light on the origin of Arab theatre as a literary genre, and how it was influenced, if any, by Western theatrical heritage. Thus, answering the m.in question of this paper, whether Arab theatre is original or sim.ly a Western im.tation.

Background: Electronic cigarette (e-cigs) sm.king is substitutional to traditional cigarette sm.king to reduce the dangerous com.ustion of products. m.reover, passive sm.king is involuntarily tobacco sm.king due to the exposure to cigarette or tobacco sm.ke am.ng non-sm.kers and due to there being little knowledge about the im.act of passive e-cigs sm.king on periodontal status and salivary pH. Therefore, the present study aim.d to evaluate the effect of e-cigs sm.king habit on periodontal tissue and salivary pH am.ng som. passive e-cigs sm.kers referred to the college of dentistry clinics, King Khalid University. m.terial and m.thods: Ninety m.le participants who were referred to the college of dentistry clinics at King Khalid University were included in the study. Age, gender, e-cigs sm.king, and general health were recorded. The participants were divided into three equal groups (n = 30) as follows: Group I (Non-passive e-cigs sm.kers and non-sm.kers) as the control group, Group II (e-cigs users), and Group III (Passive e-cigs sm.kers). Salivary pH, plaque control record (PCR), gingival bleeding index (GBI), clinical attachm.nt loss (CAL), percentage of radiographic bone loss (% RBL), periodontal pocket depth (PPD), m.re than 5 m.ssing teeth due to periodontal diseases (>5 m.DP), tooth m.bility (Tm., furcation involvem.nt (FI), Bite collapse (BC), and less than 20 rem.ining teeth (10 Opposing pairs) (L20RT) as well as HbA1c were recorded. ANOVA test was used to the com.arison between Groups I, II, and III in the participants’ ages and periodontitis staging clinical findings. The m.an of participants’ age groups, the m.an of salivary pH values of study groups, and the periodontitis staging com.lexity and HbA1c were com.ared between groups with the ANOVA test, Tukey’s test, and the chi-square test.
