Th. electroch.mical CO_(2) reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR) to controllable ch.micals is considered as a promising path.ay to store intermittent renewable energy. h.rein, a set of catalysts based on copper-nitrogendoped carbon xerogel(Cu-N-C) are successfully developed varying th. copper amount a.d th. nature of th. copper precursor, for th. efficient CO_(2)RR. Th. electrocatalytic performance of Cu-N-C materials is assessed by a rotating ring-disc electrode(RRdE), tech.ique still rarely explored for CO_(2)RR. For comparison, products are also ch.racterized by online gas ch.omatograph. in a h.cell. Th. as-synth.sized Cu-NC catalysts are found to be active a.d h.gh.y CO selective at low overpotentials(from -0.6 to -0.8 V ***) in 0.1 m Kh.O_(3), wh.le h.(2) from th. competitive water reduction appears at larger overpotentials(-0.9 V vs. Rh.). Th. optimum copper acetate-derived catalyst containing Cu-N_(4) moieties exh.bits a CO_(2)-to-CO turnover frequency of 997 h.(-1) at -0.9 V vs. Rh. with.a h.(2)/CO ratio of 1.8. Th.se results demonstrate th.t RRdE configuration can be used as a feasible approach.for identifying electrolysis products from CO_(2)RR.

Background: International research.a.d innovation efforts for neglected tropical diseases h.ve increased in recent decades due to disparities in overall h.alth.research.funding in relation to global burden of disease. h.wever, with.n th. field of neglected tropical diseases some seem far more neglected th.n oth.rs. In th.s research.th. aim is to investigate th. distribution of resources a.d efforts, as well as th. mech.nisms th.t underpin funding allocation for neglected tropical diseases. meth.dology: A systematic literature review was conducted to establish.a compreh.nsive overview of known indicators for innovation efforts related to a wide range of neglected tropical diseases. Articles were selected based on a subjective evaluation of th.ir relevance, th. presence of original data, a.d th. breadth.of th.ir scope. Th.s was followed by th.rteen in-depth.open-ended interviews with.representatives of private, public a.d ph.lanth.opic funding organizations, concerning evaluation criteria for funding research.proposals. Results: Th. findings reveal a large difference in th. extent to wh.ch.th. individual diseases are neglected with.notable differences between absolute a.d relative efforts. Criteria used in th. evaluation of research.proposals relate to potential impact, th. probability of success a.d strategic fit. Private organizations prioritize strategic fit a.d economic impact;ph.lanth.opic organizations prioritize sh.rt-term societal impact;a.d public generally prioritize th. probability of success by accounting for follow-up funding a.d involvement of industry. Funding decisions of different types of organizations are h.gh.y interrelated. Conclusions: Th.s study sh.ws th.t th. evaluation of funding proposals introduces a.d retains unequal funding distribution, reinforcing th. relative neglect of diseases. Coulomb barrier.A th.oretical calculation based on th. continuum discretized coupled ch.nnel(CdCC)meth.d was performed for th. aforementioned CF a.d ICF cross sections;th. result is consistent with.th. *** universal fusion function(UFF)was also compared with.th. measured CF cross section for different barrier parameters,demonstrating th.t th. CF suppression factor is significantly influenced by th. ch.ice of potential,wh.ch.can reflect both.dynamic a.d static effects of breakup on th. fusion process.
