Effects of synthesis parameters on the performance of crosslinked Co-polymers with clays for conformance control

Conformance control or water shut-off is a technique used to improve oil *** conformance control,polymers block high permea.ility water areas and redistribute water drive toward unswept oil *** this study,co-polymers(denoted ATP-PGV/AM-co-AMPS)were synthesized using acryla.ide(AM)and 2-acryla.ide-2-methylpropane sulfonic a.id(AMPS)as the monomers,polyethylene glycol(PEG)-200 and methylenebisacryla.ide(MBA)as the crosslinkers,attapulgite(ATP)and bentonite(PGV)as the clay types,and ammonium persulfate(APS)as the initiator,in addition to paraffin oil and *** were synthesized using inverse emulsion polymeriza.ion with different concentra.ions of monomers,crosslinkers,and clays,and they were characterized using Fourier-transform infrared(FTiR)spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX).FTiR spectra of the samples confirmed the existence of sulfonate and hydroxyl groups,which are important for polymer ***-EDX images indicated that the morphology and elemental composition were different before and after swelling,confirming the occurrence of ***,samples were placed in sodium chloride solution(20,000 ppm)for 7 days to evaluate swelling at both room temperature and 90°*** analysis(TGA)and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)were used to determine the thermal characteristics of the ***,rheological measurements were used to assess the deforma.ion and rheological beha.ior of the *** results showed that after 1 day,good swelling without loss of mecha.ical strength was achieved with the composite synthesized using 10%AM,15%AMPS,6%PGV,and 10%ATP.

The current study exa.ines the significant determinants of electricity consumption and identifies an appropriate model to forecast the electricity price *** main contribution is focused on eastern region of Saudi Ara.ia,a rela.ively hottest geographical area full of energy resources but with different electricity consumption *** rela.ive irrelevance of temperature as predicting factor of electricity consumption is quite surprising and contra.icts the previous *** the eastern region,electricity price has nega.ive associa.ion with electricity *** compa.ing tra.itional and machine learning,it is found that machine learning techniques offer better *** the machine learning techniques,the support vector machine has the lowest errors in forecasting the electricity ***,the support vector machine approach is used to forecast the trend of carbon emissions caused by electricity *** findings have policy implica.ions and offer valuable suggestions to policymakers while addressing the determinants of electricity consumption and forecasting electricity prices.

Performance of a three-phase shunt active power filter(SAPF)relies on the capa.ility of the controller to track the reference ***,designing an accurate current controller is crucial to guarantee sa.isfactory SAPF *** paper presents a model predictive current controller(MPCC)for a low-cost,four-switch,shunt active power filter for power qua.ity improvement.A four-switch,B4,converter topology is adopted as an SAPF,hence offering a simple,robust,and low-cost *** addition,to further reduce overall cost,only two interfa.ing filter inductors,instead of three,are used to eliminate switching current *** proposed SAPF model MPCC is detailed for implementa.ion,where simula.ion and experimental results va.idate effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm showing a 20%improvement in total harmonic distortion compared with a conventional hysteresis band current controller.

For the treatment of MRSa.infected wounds,the spa.iotemporally sequential delivery of antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs is a promising *** this study,ROS-responsive HA-PBA/PVA(HPA)hydrogel was prepared by phenylborate ester bond cross-linking between hyaluronic a.id-grafted 3-a.ino phenylboronic a.id(HA-PBA)and polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)to achieve spa.iotemporally controlled release of two kinds of drug to treat MRSa.infected *** hydrophilic antibiotic moxifloxa.in(M)was directly loaded in the *** hydrophobic curcumin(Cur)with anti-inflammatory function was first mixed with Pluronic F127(PF)to form Cur-encapsulated PF micelles(Cur-PF),and then loaded into the HPA *** to the different hydrophilic and hydrophobic nature of moxifloxa.in and Cur and their different existing forms in the HPA hydrogel,the final HPA/M&Cur-PF hydrogel can achieve different spa.iotemporally sequential delivery of the two *** addition,the swelling,degrada.ion,self-hea.ing,antibacterial,anti-inflammatory,antioxidant property,and biocompa.ibility of hydrogels were ***,in the MRSa.infected mouse skin wound,the hydrogel-treated group showed faster wound closure,less inflamma.ion and more collagen *** experiments further confirmed that the hydrogel promoted better repair by reducing inflamma.ion(TNF-a)and promoting vascular(VEGF)*** conclusion,this HPA/M&CurPF hydrogel that can spa.iotemporally sequential deliver antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs showed great potential for the repair of MRSa.infected skin wounds.

The centrifugal pump is a prevalent power equipment widely used in different engineering patterns,and the impeller blade wrap angle significantly impacts its performance.A numerical investiga.ion was conducted to analyze the influence of the blade wrap angle on flow characteristics and energy distribution of a centrifugal pump evaluated as a low specific speed with a value of *** study investigates six impellermodels that possess varying blade wrap angles(95°,105°,115°,125°,135°,and 145°)that were created while maintaining the same volute and other geometrical *** investiga.ion of energy loss was conducted to evaluate the values of total and entropy genera.ion rates(TEG,EGR).The fluid-structure interaction was considered numerically using the software tools ANSYS Fluent and *** elastic structural dyna.ic equa.ion was used to estimate the structural response,while the shear stress transport k–ωturbulence model was utilized for the fluid domain *** findings suggest that the blade wrap angle has a significant influence on the efficiency of the *** impeller featuring a blade wrap angle of 145°exhibits higher efficiency,with a notable increase of 3.76%rela.ive to the original *** in the blade wrap angle impact the energy loss,shaft power,and pump *** model with a 145°angle exhibited a ma.imum equivalent stress of 14.8MPa and a total deforma.ion of 0.084 *** results provide valuable insights into the intricate flow mecha.ism of the centrifugal pump,particularly when considering va.ious blade wrap angles.
