Glycidol is a common lipid-derived foodborne toxicant mainly presents in refined oils and related *** endothelial cells may be potential targets of the deleterious effects associated with glycidol *** human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs),we found that glycidol treatment promoted endothelialto-mesenchymal transition(EndMT)at a lower concentration(0.5 mmol/L),while induced apoptosis and inflammation at a higher concentration(1 mmol/L).These harmful effects were achieved by the activation of NF-κB/MAPK signaling pathway and were mediated by reactive oxygen species(ROS).In addition,the protective potential of 6-C-(E-2-fluorostyryl)naringenin(6-CEFN)against glycidol was evaluated and compared with *** pre-treated with 6-CEFN,but not naringenin,displayed resistance to endothelial dysfunction caused by glycidol.

A sharp increase in economic and human development has multiplied the carbon intensity due to which there is a significant need of effective strategies in order to curb carbon ***,the present study aims to examine the effective of green finance,eco-innovation,renewable energy output(REO),renewable energy consumption(REC),and carbon taxes on carbon dioxide(CO_(2))emissions in BRICS countries in the time of ***-sectional autoregressive distributed lag(CS ARDL)is used to test the connection among the *** estimations of CS-ARDL approach validates the effectiveness of green finance,eco-innovation,REO,REC,carbon taxes,and industrialization as the relationship of these factors with carbon emissions is negative in nature in BRICS *** on the evidences,the study recommends the formulation of environmentally friendly practices and advancement in green finances to mitigate carbon emissions.

W–Cu refractory alloys are widely used in aerospace,aviation,electronics,power,and other fi ***,because of its large melting point diff erence between alloy elements,the conventional powder metallurgy method required a long time of high temperature sintering is very likely to cause low density and abnormal grain size ***,90W-10Cu refractory alloys were successfully prepared by hot oscillatory pressing(HOP)under diff erent sintering time in this *** the infl uence of sintering time on the microstructure,grain size,density,Vickers hardness,room-tensile property,and electrical conductivity of the W–Cu refractory alloy was systematically *** results showed that during the short sintering time(30–90 min),the density,Vickers hardness,tensile strength,and electrical conductivity of the W–Cu refractory alloy increased signifi cantly to 98.7%,163.29 HV 30,507.3 MPa,and 14.2%International Annealed Copper Standard with the sintering time increasing,respectively,while its grain size showed no obvious *** the sintering time further increased to 120 min,the density was basically consistent with the sintering time of 90 ***,the prolonged high temperature sintering resulted in the grain growth of the samples,which caused the deterioration of the Vickers hardness,room-tensile strength,and conductivity properties of the W–Cu refractory *** the same sintering time,the density,Vickers hardness,and electrical conductivity of the HOP sintered W–Cu refractory alloy were signifi cantly higher than those of the HP sintered *** was indicated that high density,fi ne-grain,and excellent properties W–Cu refractory alloys could be prepared by hot oscillatory pressing under appropriate sintering time.

BACKGROUND Helicobacter pylori(***)eradication treatment for primary gastric mucosaassociated lymphoid tissue(MALT)lymphoma has already been ***,t(11;18)(q21;q21)/API2-MALT1 translocation-positive lesions are a type of primary gastric MALT lymphoma in which a response to eradication treatment is difficult to *** addition,trisomy 18 may be associated with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL)transformation of gastric MALT *** SUMMARY A 66-year-old man was diagnosed with MALT lymphoma in the ascending colon by colonoscopy and *** years later,esophagogastroduodenoscopy revealed chronic atrophic gastritis that was positive for ***,and eradication treatment was *** years and nine months later(at the age of 70),a new ulcerative lesion suggestive of MALT lymphoma appeared in the gastric body,and six months later,a similar lesion was also found in the *** year later(4 years and 3 months after *** eradication),at the age of 72,the lesion in the gastric body had become deeper and had propagated.A biopsy revealed a pathological diagnosis of *** MALT lymphoma lesions in the ascending colon and DLBCL lesions in the stomach were positive for the t(11;18)(q21;q21)/API2-MALT1 translocation,and trisomy 18q21 was also *** 6 courses of R-CHOP(rituximab,cyclophosphamide,doxorubicin,vincristine and prednisone)chemotherapy,all of the above lesions disappeared[complete remission(CR)],and CR has been maintained for more than 3 *** addition,both the colonic and gastric lesions were proven to have the same *** Because the patient had a MALT1 translocation with trisomy 18q21,it was thought that this gastric MALT lymphoma developed independently of *** infection and progressed.

Rational design of efficient and robust earth-abundant alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)catalysts is a key factor for developing energy conversion ***,antiperovskite nitride CuNMn_(3)has garnered significant interest due to its remarkable properties such as negative/zero thermal expansion and magnetocaloric ***,when utilized as hydrogen evolution catalysts,it encounters large challenge resulting from excessively strong/weak interactions with adsorbed H on Mn/Cu active sites,which leads to low HER *** this study,we introduce an asymmetric orbital hybridization strategy in Zn-doped Cu_(1-x)Zn_(x)NMn_(3)by leveraging the localization of Zn electronic states to reconfigure the electronic structures of Cu and Mn,thereby reducing the energy barrier for water dissociation and optimizing Cu and Mn active sites for hydrogen adsorption and H_(2)*** evaluations reveal that Cu_(0.85)Zn_(0.15)NMn_(3)with x=0.15 demonstrates exceptional electrocatalytic activity in alkaline electrolytes.A low overpotential of 52 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2)and outstanding stability over a 150-h test period are achieved,surpassing commercial Pt/*** research offers a novel strategy for enhancing HER performance by modulating asymmetric hybridization of electron orbitals between multiple metal atoms within a material structure.

Vector-borne diseases caused by arthropod-borne viruses(arboviruses) are a considerable challenge to public health globally. Mosquito-borne arboviruses, such as Chikungunya, Dengue, and Zika viruses, cause a range of human illnesses and may be fatal. Currently, efforts to control these diseases still face challenges due to growing vector resistance towards insecticides, urbanization, and limited effective antiviral treatments and vaccines. Animal models are crucial in antiviral research on mosquito-borne arboviruses, playing a role in understanding disease mechanisms,vaccine development, and toxicity testing, but the application of animal models still faces the challenges of ethical considerations and animal-to-human translational success. Genetically engineered mouse models, hamster models and non-human primate(NHP) are currently used in arbovirus research, but new models such as tree shrews and novel humanized mice are emerging. In the context of Malaysian research, the use of long-tailed macaques as potential NHP models for arbovirus research is possible;however, it faces the ethical dilemma of using an endangered species for scientific purposes. Overall, animal models play a crucial role in advancing infectious disease research, but a balance between medical research and species conservation must be upheld.

Positional information encoded in spatial concentration patterns is crucial for the development of multicellular ***,it is still unclear how such information is affected by the physically dissipative diffusion *** we study one-dimensional patterning systems with analytical derivation and numerical *** find that the diffusion constant of the patterning molecules exhibits a nonmonotonic effect on the readout of the positional information from the concentration ***,there exists an optimal diffusion constant that maximizes the positional ***,we find that the energy dissipation due to the physical diffusion imposes a fundamental upper limit on the positional information.

The organ-specific toxicity resulting from microplastic(MP)exposure has been extensively explored,particularly concerning the gut,liver,testis,and ***,under natural conditions,these effects are not restricted to specific organs or *** whether MP exposure presents a systemic threat to an entire organism,impacting factors such as lifespan,sleep,and fecundity,is *** this study,we investigated the effects of dietary exposure to two different doses of MPs(1–5μm)using the terrestrial model organism Drosophila *** indicated that the particles caused gut damage and remained within the digestive *** MP exposure significantly shortened the lifespan of adult *** short-term exposure disrupted sleep patterns,increasing the length of daytime sleep ***,one week of MP exposure reduced ovary size,with a trend towards decreased egg-laying in mated *** MPs did not penetrate the brain or ovaries,transcriptome analysis revealed altered gene expression in these *** the ovary,Gene Ontology(GO)analysis indicated genotoxic effects impacting inflammation,circadian regulation,and metabolic processes,with significant impacts on extracellular structure-related *** the brain,GO analysis identified changes in pathways associated with proteolysis and carbohydrate ***,this study provides compelling evidence of the systemic negative effects of MP exposure,highlighting the urgent need to address and mitigate environmental MP pollution.

Toxic air pollutants(TAPs)are a class of airborne chemicals known or suspected to cause serious health *** study,applying positive matrix factorization and inhalation unit risk estimates of TAPs,quantifies the changes in significant sources contributing to inhalation cancer risks(ICRs)from 2000 to 2020 in Hong Kong,*** ICR decreased from 1701 to 451 cases per million between 2000−2004 and 2016−2020,largely attributed to the reduction in diesel particulate matter(DPM),gasoline and solvent use-related volatile organic compounds(VOCs),and coal/biomass combustion-related polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and metal(loid)*** regional contribution of VOCs associated with industrial and halogenated solvent sources increased substantially,representing the largest non-DPM ICR contributor(37%)in 2016−2020,stressing the need for a more comprehensive risk evaluation across the fast-growing and densely populated Greater Bay Area(GBA).ICRs in Hong Kong and the GBA will likely remain over 100 cases per million by *** contributions to ozone formation potential of VOC/carbonyl sources were quantified,which show a notable shift from being solvent/gasoline-dominant in 2000−2004 to being more evenly shared by various sources in 2016−*** a similar TAP monitoring network in the GBA is anticipated to provide the monitoring data needed to facilitate the development of more informed air quality management strategies.
