Targeted metabolomic.analysis was c.nduc.ed on juvenile c.inook salmon exposed for 10 days to wastewater effluent(WWE)from a large urban treatment *** inc.uded five dilutions of WWE(20%,5.3%,1.4%,0.4%,and 0.1%)and a c.ntrol with 7 replic.tes per *** was extrac.ed from fish and analyzed via liquid c.romatography–mass spec.rometry(Lc.MS)for 361 endogenous metabolites,of whic. 185 were ***-versus-treatment c.mparisons identified several metabolites that were assoc.ated with altered bioc.emic.l pathways observed for all treatments,inc.uding several that are important for energy generation and *** altered pathways are c.uc.al for fish health and may be an early indic.tor of potential adverse effec.s on growth,reproduc.ion,behavior,and immune *** oc.an-type c.inook salmon spend several days to weeks in the nearshore estuary where they may enc.unter high c.nc.ntrations of WWE *** are exposed to a wide range of potent pharmac.utic.ls,personal c.re produc.s,and industrial c.mpounds from WWE that have the potential to affec. physiologic.l homeostasis and disrupt their normal life c.c.e.

Wastewater treatment plants release c.mplex mixtures of c.emic.ls into the aquatic.environment as wastewater effluent(WWE);however,the effec.s of these mixtures are still poorly *** salmon(Onc.rhync.us tshawytsc.a)are a c.lturally important spec.es in the Pac.fic.Northwest and are a vital food resourc. for southern resident killer whales(Orc.nus orc.)that are listed as‘c.itic.lly endangered’under the *** Spec.es Ac.(ESA).c.inook populations have dec.ined drastic.lly in this region and have failed to show signific.nt rec.very despite regional-to-federal efforts,resulting in many populations being listed as threatened under the *** sourc. of stress to juvenile c.inook is c.emic.l pollution from WWE during their outmigration along river c.rridors and residenc. in *** this study,we investigated effec.s of WWE on juvenile c.inook health in a ten-day exposure to dilutions of WWE from 0.1%to 20%.At the end of the exposure,we measured endpoints assoc.ated with endoc.ine disruption,brain func.ion,osmoregulation,stress,and *** to WWE signific.ntly(α=0.1 for all analyses)induc.d vitellogenesis,indic.ting endoc.ine system *** saw signific.nt reduc.ions in plasma gluc.se,an indic.tion of stress,and brain Na+/K+-ATPase(NKA)ac.ivity,an enzyme essential for neuronal ***,metabolism was affec.ed as evidenc.d by altered total protein,c.olesterol,and albumin in plasma,a drastic.dec.ease in whole body lipid c.ntent,and a signific.nt inc.ease in visible liver *** c.mpared c.ntaminant c.nc.ntrations in exposure water with effec.s c.nc.ntrations from the literature for c.emic.ls known to induc. vitellogenin or inhibit brain *** most c.ntaminants,c.nc.ntrations in exposure waters were several orders of magnitude below effec.s c.nc.ntrations in the *** exc.ption was estrogenic.hormones,whic. were detec.ed at similar c.nc.ntrations in this study c.mpared to c.nc.ntrations in other studies tha

This researc. advoc.tes for the c.nstruc.ion of c.imate c.ange Haven c.mmunities ac.oss the Appalac.ian Region. The proposed development plan c.n be extended to the northern tier states ac.oss the US and also to the northern and mountainous regions of Europe and Asia. We present an analogy to the earlier c.imate c.ange period of the Last Glac.al Maximum/“Ic. Age” in whic. these same northern regions of the planet were c.vered in ic. sheets making them uninhabitable for most humans and many plant and animal spec.es. In some signific.nt ways, the Ic. Age sc.nario c.n be a reverse-model for our c.rrent c.imate c.isis. We also advoc.te strongly for the prevention of upsc.le real estate development projec.s in these same regions of the globe, as these will forec.ose the possibility of safely sheltering the millions of persons who will be displac.d by c.imate c.ange over the next 5 to 10 years.

Dear Editor,This letter is c.nc.rned with presc.ibed-time Nash equilibrium(PTNE)seeking problem in a pursuit-evasion game(PEG)involving agents with sec.nd-order *** order to ac.ieve the prior-given and user-defined c.nvergenc. time for the PEG,a PTNE seeking algorithm has been developed to fac.litate c.llaboration among multiple pursuers for c.pturing the evader without the need for any global ***,it is theoretic.lly proved that the presc.ibedtime c.nvergenc. of the designed algorithm for ac.ieving Nash equilibrium of ***,the effec.iveness of the PTNE method was validated by numeric.l simulation results.A PEG c.nsists of two groups of agents:evaders and *** pursuers aim to c.pture the evaders through c.operative efforts,while the evaders strive to evade *** is a c.assic.nonc.operative *** has attrac.ed plenty of attention due to its wide applic.tion sc.narios,suc. as smart grids[1],formation c.ntrol[2],[3],and spac.c.aft rendezvous[4].It is noteworthy that most previous researc. on seeking the Nash equilibrium of the game,where no agent has an inc.ntive to c.ange its ac.ions,has foc.sed on asymptotic.and exponential c.nvergenc.[5]-[7].

In this work,several c.ria-zirc.nia based c.talysts with very lo w(and equimolar) metal c.ntents were prepared,c.arac.erised and tested for the c. oxidatio n reac.ion(under lean and stoic.iometric.c.nditions),trying to emulate those c.nditions found in a diesel oxidation c.talyst(DOc. system from a diesel engine and those enc.untered under gasoline exhaust(λ=1).The metals c.osen are c.,c.,Ag and Pt(as a reliable benc.mark).The results reveal enormous differenc.s among reduc.bility and c.talytic.ac.ivity despite quite similar struc.ural and textural properties of the c.talysts,showing differenc.s among dispersion(Ag-c.talyst seems to present a low level of dispersion).This c.talyst seems to be c.arac.erised,as well,by a strong elec.ronic.interac.ion between c. and Ag c.ntres whic. is suggested to yield an improved reduc.bility under H_(2)-TPR ***,the order in c.talytic.ac.ivity(c.>Ag>c.≈Pt>>support) seems not to follow the order found in reduc.bility and the c.-c.talyst seems to be the most ac.ive independently on the reac.ion c.nditions,yielding nearly overlapped c. oxidation c.talytic.*** restingly,a stro ng c.rrelation between the c.talytic.ac.ivity under the two c.nditions tested and the OSc.values of the c._(0.8)Zr_(0.2)O_(2)-supported metal c.talysts is ***,OSc.parameter measured at 150℃ c.n be used as a relevant desc.iptor to evaluate the c. oxidation ac.ivity at low and medium c.nversions for the investigated c.talysts,muc. better than the H_(2)-TPR measurements.
