In this paper we describe the scanning electron microscopy techniques of electron backscatter diffraction, electron channeling contrast imaging, wavelength dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and cathodoluminescence hyperspectral imaging. We present our recent results on the use of these non-destructive techniques to obtain information on the topography, crystal misorientation, defect distributions, composition, doping, and light emission from a range of UV-emitting nitride semiconductor structures. We aim to illustrate the developing capability of each of these techniques for understanding the properties of UV-emitting nitride semiconductors, and the benefits were appropriate, in combining the techniques.

Aim: Purification of glutathione s-transferases (GsTs) from rat testis; separation and identificationunits and their role in eicosanoid biosynthesis. Methods: Purification of mt testicular GsTs by affit?phy, employing s-hexylglutathione-linked epoxy-activated sepharose 6B column and separation of indiby reverse phase-high pressure liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). Characterization of affinity purified,um dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (sDs-PAGE) and Westem blot analysis. The roGsTs in eicosanoid biosynthesis was determined by incubating GsTs with 5, 6-Leukotriene A_4Me (prostaglandin H_2 (PGH_2) and analyzing the products formed on HPLC/TLC. Results: The present stumajority of rat testicular GsTs are of Y_b size (60%) with molecular weight of 27 kDa. The most preunits, however, are GsT Y_(n2) (27% ), followed by GsT Y_c (24% ) and GsT Y_(nl) (20%). These testiculavery high Leukotriene C_4 (LTC_4) synthase activity with 5, 6-Leukotriene A4Me (lta_4Me) as theprostaglandin D (PGD) synthase activity with prostaglandin H_2 (PGH_2) as the substrate. Conclusion:testicular GsTs are Y_b sized and are involved in the synthesis of eicosanoids like LTC_4 and PGD_2.(Asian j Androl 2000 Dec; 2: 277-282)

The effect of the partial substitution of Ca2+ by Ho3+ ions on the electrical and mechanical properties of the superconducting phase (Bi,Pb)-2223 was studied. superconducting samples of the type (Bi1.8Pb0.4)sr2Ca2.1−x Ho x Cu3.1O10+δ were prepared by solid-state reaction technique under ambient pressure, and characterized by means of X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (sEM). The superconducting transition temperature T c and pseudogap temperature T* were estimated from electrical resistivity measurements, while the critical current density j c was determined from I–V curves. The electrical resistivity data were discussed according to bipolaron model in the absence of thermally excited individual polarons. The sample with x = 0.025 showed the highest phase volume fraction, T c, and j c. Room temperature Vickers microhardness measurements were carried out at different applied loads (0.25–5 N) in order to investigate the performance of the mechanical properties of (Bi1.8Pb0.4)sr2Ca2.1−x Ho x Cu3.1O10+δ phase. It was found that all the samples exhibit normal indentation size effect (IsE). The Vickers microhardness number H V increased as x increased from 0 to 0.025. The experimental results were discussed in view of Meyer’s law, Hays–Kendall (HK) approach, elastic/plastic deformation (EPD) model, and proportional specimen resistance (PsR) model. The load independent (true) microhardness of (Bi1.8Pb0.4)sr2Ca2.1−x Ho x Cu3.1O10+δ superconducting samples showed identical behavior to that of the PsR model.

目的建立多发伤合并未控制性失血性休克模型，以满足多发伤基础研究的需要j方法选择40只新西兰雄兔并按随机数字表法分为假手术组（A组，无放血、无复苏）、未控制组（B组，放血但无复苏）、充分液体复苏组（C组，放血、止血及复苏）及限制性液体复苏组（D组，放血、止血及复苏），每组10只兔。3kg重锤在45cm处自由落下造成各组家兔右后肢骨折。2min后（记为TO）放血各组（B、C、D组）经右颈总动脉放血20min，约放出30％的全身血量。30min时针刺放血各组回盲动脉分支造成未控制性出血，再采用乳酸林格液对C、D组分别进行充分和限制性液体复苏，维持此期1h。90min时结扎出血动脉分支，再对c、D组进行回输血，另对D组输入3倍失血量的乳酸林格液，维持此期1h。150min～7h观察存活情况。各时相点采动脉血测血气分析与凝血功能并统计骨折类型、输液量、失血量及7h存活率。结果骨折均为胫腓骨闭合性粉碎性骨折。30min时放血组血压、心率及pH值均显著降低，K＋、血糖及乳酸显著增加（P〈0．01），血压和心率在150min时升至0min时的水平。充分液体复苏显著增加腹腔失血量和输液量（P〈0．01），降低红细胞压积（P〈0．05）及延长凝血酶原时间与活化部分凝血活酶时间（P〈0．05）。液体复苏显著提高7h存活率（P〈0．01）。结论本模型稳定性和可重复性高，适用于多发伤合并未控制性失血性休克的相关研究。

New radiolarian ages show that the island arc-related Acoje block of the Za.ba.es Ophiolite Complex is possibly of Late jurassic to Early Cretaceous *** dating of its plutonic and volcanichypabyssal rocks yielded middle Eocene *** the other hand,the paleontological dating of the sedimentary carapace of the transitional mid-ocean ridge-island arc affiliated Coto block of the ophiolite complex,together with isotopic age datings of its dikes and mafic cumulate rocks,also yielded Eocene *** offers the possibility that the Za.ba.es Ophiolite Complex could have:(1)evolved from a Mesozoic arc(Acoje block)that split to form a Cenozoic back-arc basin(Coto block),(2)through faulting,structurally juxtaposed a Mesozoic oceanic crust with a younger Cenozoic lithospheric fragment or(3)through the interplay of slab rollback,slab break-off and,at a later time,collision with a microcontinent fragment,caused the formation of an island arc-related ophiolite block(Acoje)that migrated trench-ward resulting into the generation of a.ba.k-arc basin(Coto block)with a limited subduction *** Meso-Cenozoic ophiolite complex is compared with the other oceanic lithosphere fragments along the western seaboard of the Philippines in the context of their evolution in terms of their recognized environments of generation.

A thrust for looking multifunctional materials for applications in civil engineering structures has attracted interest among researchers across the *** based ba0.85Ca0.15Zr0.1Ti0.88sn0.02O3(***)composites were prepared for electrocaloric applications with varying *** to cement *** loops showed some signature of saturation in cement ***,loops of pure sample were saturated due to its ferroelectric ***,these composites were explored for the first time in solid state refrigeration technology namely electrocaloric effect(ECE).Peak electrocaloric performance shows an adiabatic temperature changes of 0.71,0.64 and 0.50 K and isothermal entropy changes of 0.86,0.80 and 0.65 j/(kg.K)for ***,10%and 15%cement composites,respectively,under application of 0-29 kV/cm electric *** adiabatic temperature change in cement based composites is comparable with that of the BCZT-sn ferroelectric ***,the dielectric constant(εr)of composites with different ceramic contents at room temperature reveals that dielectric constant increases with an increase in BCZT-sn proportion in *** cement based *** composite materials may be used in solid state refrigeration as they are fairly competitive with the pristine sample.

baCKGROUND Inflammatory bowel diseases(IBD)have been associated with a low quality of life(QoL)and a negative impact on work productivity compared to the general *** about disease control,patient-reported outcomes(PROs),treatment patterns and use of healthcare resources is relevant to optimizing IBD *** To describe QoL and work productivity and activity impairment(WPAI),treatment patterns and use of healthcare resources among IBD patients in *** A multicenter cross-sectional study included adult outpatients who were previously diagnosed with moderate to severe Crohn’s disease(CD)or ulcerative colitis(UC).At enrolment,active CD and UC were defined as having a Harvey Bradshaw Index≥8 or a CD Activity Index≥220 or calprotectin>200μg/g or previous colonoscopy results suggestive of inadequate control(per investigator criteria)and a 9-point partial Mayo score≥5,*** PRO assessment included the QoL questionnaires sF-36 and EQ-5D-5L,the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Questionnaire(IBDQ),and the WPAI *** about healthcare resources and treatment during the previous 3 years was collected from medical ***-square,Fisher’s exact and student’s t-/Mann-Whitney U tests were used to compare PROs,treatment patterns and the use of healthcare resources by disease activity(α=0.05).REsULTs Of the 407 patients in this study(CD/UC:64.9%/35.1%,mean age 42.9/45.9 years,54.2%/56.6%female,38.3%/37.1%employed),44.7%/25.2%presented moderate-to-severe CD/UC activity,respectively,at *** in median values for CD/UC,respectively,the sF-36 physical component was 46.6/44.7 and the mental component was 45.2/44.2,the EQ-visual analog scale score was 80.0/70.0,and the IBDQ overall score was 164.0/*** to severe activity,female gender,being unemployed,a lower educational level and lower income were associated with lower QoL(Ps 20%and 5%for CD and UC patients,re

Novel high-entropy perovskite-type(Ca_(0.2)sr_(0.2)ba_(0.2)La_(0.2)Pb_(0.2))TiO_(3)(CsBLP)ceramics with cubic structure of Pm-3 m space group were successful prepared by solid-state reaction *** of XRD,sEM-EDs,HRTEM confirmed a homogeneous distribution and equimolar arrangement of multicomponent cations on the *** high-entropy CsBLP ceramics showed long-range structural order and short-range chemical disorder with widely dispersed nanoscale grains varying sizes of 4-6 nm in the *** of increased configurational entropy,the CsBLP ceramic has an enhanced seebeck coefficient(|s|=272μV/K at 1073 K)and low thermal conductivity(k=1.75 W/m·K at 1073 K)when annealed at1300℃.This work demonstrates the possibility of effectively reducing thermal conductivity and improving the performance of thermoelectric oxides through high-entropy composition design.
