Impact of Medicaid expansion on kidney transplantation in the State Oklahoma

A Comparison Study of Moving Object Index Structures

The task of selecting the most appropriate method for indexing the data according to application requires a careful comparison study of indices of interests. In particular, we consider object movements by tracing their trajectories within a predefined road network. MV3DR-tree and 3DR-tree constitute our first group indexing the objects moving in free movement scenarios. Besides, Mapping and MON-tree are the second group indexing the locations of objects moving over a network of road. Those access methods mainly organize a group of R-tree in order to index the underlying road network and the object movements. Our goal in this study is to evaluate existing proposals under fair circumstances with respect to storage consumption and spatio-temporal query execution performance. In our comparisons, we discuss the structure＇s sensibility to query＇s spatial and/or temporal extent as well as the tradeoff arising between two groups in terms of reliability and disk access performance. We believe that revealing the vulnerabilities of the selected structures, especially Mapping and MON-tree motivates us to design more robust organizations.

Ecdysteroids in the pupae of Opogona sacchari (Bojer), a new invasive alien pest

In order to understand the composition and quantitative variation of ecdysteriods in the pu- pae of Opogona sacchari (Bojer), a new invasive alien pest, we analyzed the pupal ecdysteroid com- position and titers in this pest. The main component of ecdysteriods in the pupae of O. sacchari is 20-hydroxyecdysone. The titre of ecdysteriods in both male pupae and female pupae get higher gradually, and then decreased slowly after reaching a peak (80 ng/pupa). The titre of ecdysteriods was about 30 ng/pupa in the later stage of pupae. The peak of male pupae appeared on the third day, but the peak of female pupae lasted from the second day to the fourth day during pupal developments. The ecdysteroid content was higher in female pupae than in male pupae during specific pupal time (the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th day). We also found that the titre of ec- dysteroids in posterior part of pupae was higher than in anterior part of pupae obviously.

In order to understand the composition and quantitative variation of ecdysteriods in the larvae of Opogona sacchari (Bojer), a invasive alien pest, we analyzed the larval ecdysteroid composition and titers in this pest. The main component of ecdysteriods in the larvae of O. sacchari is 20-hydroxyecdysone, and also there is a little 26-hydroxyecdysone. The titer of ecdysteriods in the larvae from the 1st instar to the 7th instar was gotten higher gradually compared on ng ecdyster-oid/larva, but no regularity could be found about the titer if compared on ng ecdysteroid/g avoirdupois. There was only one peak of ecdysteroids (0.5475 ng/larva) showed at day 2 during the developmental time of the 6th instar larvae. However, there were two peaks appearing during the developmental time of the 7th instar larvae , one peak (0.29415 ng/larva) at day 3, another (0.214 ng/larva) at day 5.

Effects of dietary nickel on detoxification enzyme activities in the midgut of Spodoptera litura Fabricius larvae

Nickel accumulated in midugt of Spodoptera litura Fabricius could induce the expression of metal-lothionein,one of the most important detoxification proteins in *** the present study,the effects of dietary nickel on the activities of detoxification enzymes,such as carboxylesterase(CarE) and glutathione S-transferase(GST) in the midgut of *** larvae have been studied to get an un-derstanding of the detoxification mechanisms of *** larvae to excessive *** showed that CarE activities in the midgut of the 5th instar larvae decreased at lower levels of nickel(≤5 mg/kg),while increased with increasing nickel doses at higher levels of nickel(≥10 mg/kg) exposure in suc-cessive 3 *** activities of the 6th instar larvae were also characterized as inhibited at low levels of nickel exposure,and improved at higher levels in the 1st *** activities of 6th instar larvae in the 2nd and 3rd generations were all lower than that in ***,GST activities in the midgut of the 5th and 6th instar larvae all increased with increasing nickel doses(1―20 mg/kg) in diets.

Optical coherence tomography angiography of the peripapillary region and macula in normal,primary open angle glaucoma,pseudoexfoliation glaucoma and ocular hypertension eyes

AIM:To evaluate and compare the peripapillary and retinal vasculature changes in primary open angle glaucoma(POAG),pseudoexfoliation glaucoma(PXG),ocular hypertension(OHT)and normal eyes using optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA).METHODS:A total of 114 POAG,PXG and OHT eyes of 60 patients and 46 eyes of 23 healthy control participants with good quality OCTA images were *** PXG,POAG,OHT,and control groups(aged 68.17±6.30 y,61.11±10.26 y,58.1±8.9 y,and 56.9±4.6 y,respectively)contained of 46,36,32,and 46 eyes,*** of vessel density(VD)in the peripapillary region and macula,average retinal inner thickness,and retinal nerve fiber layer thickness(RNFLT)were compared among *** order to test the accuracy of differentiation between eyes with and without glaucoma,the area was calculated under the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)***:The VD in glaucomatous eyes was significantly lower than the control group in all peripapillary sectors(44.35%±6.78%vs 50.47%±1.83%,P<0.001),the superficial(44.08%±5.46%vs 51.28%±2.85%,P<0.001)and the deep(45.13%±8.55%vs 54.20%±5.44%,P<0.001)vascular *** was a significant difference in peripapillary VD between glaucomatous and OHT eyes(44.35%±6.78%vs 49.86%±2.45%,P<0.001).The OHT group featured a lower superficial(48.06%±4.32%vs 51.28%±2.85%,P=0.027)and deep plexus(48.70%±5.99%vs 54.20%±5.44%,P=0.013)whole image vessel density(wiVD)than did the control *** average macular superficial plexus wiVD was significantly lower in eyes with PXG than in eyes with POAG(42.22%±5.36%vs 46.54%±5.56%,P=0.046).CONCLUSION:OCTA can measure reduced peripapillary and macular VD in eyes with glaucoma and OHT,and these results are correlated to functional and structural glaucomatous *** and macular superficial plexus VD is lower in eyes with PXG than in eyes with ***,the OHT eyes demonstrate impaired macular vasculature in both superficial and deep plexus.

Nickel accumulation and its effects on the survival rate of Spodoptera litura Fabricius under continuous nickel stress

The artificial diets mixed with various concentrations of nickel were offered to the larvae of the phytophagous insect Spodoptera litura Fabricius for 3 generations. Nickel accumulations in the 6th instar larvae, pupae and newly emerged adults of the corresponding generations of S. litura were investigated by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometer (ICP-AES), and the effects of nickel accumulations on the survival rate of S. litura were also evaluated by individual rearing. The results showed that nickel accumulated in the 6th instar larvae, pupae and adults of S. litura, and the accu- mulated nickel in all the tested developmental stages within a generation increased with the increase of the nickel doses in the treated diets and showed significant dose-dependent relationship with the nickel doses in the artificial diets. The results also indicated that the nickel accumulations in the 6th instar larvae, pupae, and newly emerged adults from the 3rd generation were higher than those from the 2nd generation, which were also higher than those from the 1st generation. Nickel concentrations in pupae and adults were significantly lower than those in larvae, which indicated that the excessive nickel might be excreted during metamorphosis. Furthermore, larval survival rate, pupation rate and eclosion rate of S. litura in the tested three generations all decreased with the increase of the nickel doses in the treated diets.

Effects of herbivore-induced rice volatiles on the host selection behavior of brown planthopper,Nilaparvata lugens

It has been suggested that herbivore would react to volatiles produced by herbivore infested plant due to potential change, either positive or negative, in the acceptability of the host plant. This hypothesis was tested for the brown planthopper (BPH) in the laboratory. Sixteen components of the headspace volatiles from rice seedlings with different treatments were collected with SPME and Tenax-TA trap and analyzed with GC and GC-MS. Significant differences in volatile emissions were observed for rice plants with different treatments. Undamaged control plants, mechanically damaged plants and the plants infested by BPH for 1 or 2 d emitted much lower amounts of volatiles compared to the plants infested by BPH for 3 or 5 d. The plants infested by BPH for 3 or 5 d emitted several volatiles that were not detected in undamaged control plants, mechanically damaged plants or the plants infested by BPH for 1 or 2 d.
