Voltage source converters have become the main enabler for the integration of distributed energy resources in *** the case of islanded operation,these devices normally set the amplitude and frequency of the network voltage by means of a cascade controller composed of an outer voltage control loop and an inner current control *** strategies to compute the gains of both control loops have been proposed in the literature in order to obtain a fast and decoupled response of the voltages at the point of common *** paper proposes an alternative and simple methodology based on the introduction of a virtual conductance in the classic cascade *** strategy allows to design each control loop independently,obtaining a closed-loop response of a first-order *** this way,the gains of each control loop are easily derived from the parameters of the LC coupling filter and the desired closed-loop time ***,a state observer is included in the controller to estimate the inductor current of the LC filter in order to reduce the number of required measurements.A laboratory testbed is used to validate and compare the proposed *** experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposal both in steady-state and transient regimes.

A new control scheme for induction motors is proposed in the present paper, applying the interconnection and damping assignment-passivity based control （IDA-PBC） method. The scheme is based exclusively on passivity based control, without restricting the input frequency as it is done in field oriented control （FOC）. A port-controlled Hamiltonian （PCH） model of the induction motor is deduced to make the interconnection and damping of energy explicit on the scheme. The proposed controller is validated under computational simulations and experimental tests using an inverter prototype.

This work focuses on the development of starch-based nanocomposite films containing AgNPs obtained by different green synthesis techniques, the characterization of their relevant properties, the study of their cytotoxicity and their application as food packaging on cheese. AgNPs were obtained by different green synthesis techniques: AgNP in situ and AgNP L. The incorporation of AgNP L improved the barrier properties of nanocomposite films, since water vapor permeability decreased (0.63 +/- 0.07 x 10-10 g/m s Pa) compared to films containing AgNPs in situ (1.9 +/- 0.1 x 10-10 g/m s Pa), while the UV-vis barrier capacity was higher (371.5 +/- 15.6 and 314.1 +/- 14.7, respectively). Films with AgNPs synthesized in situ were less cytotoxic for the Caco-2/TC7 line (90% viability) in comparison with films containing AgNPs synthesized with lemon juice (AgNP L). Vero cells were susceptible to adhesion problems on both control and nanocomposite films. Likewise, the differences observed between monocytes and macrophage THP-1 cells may be associated with the expression of different markers. Then, active packages were developed by thermo-sealing the films. The nanocomposite samples were able to extend the shelf life of cheese by 7 days, but the CL and AgNP L films were more effective, probably due to the synergistic effect of the active compounds present in the lemon juice and the low pH of the film-forming suspension. Finally, production costs and the current legislative framework for this type of material were revised.

Stable carbon isotope geochemistry provides important information for the recognition of funda- mental isotope exchange processes related to the movement of carbon in the lithosphere and permits the elab- oration of models for the global carbon cycle. Carbon isotope ratios in fluid-deposited graphite are powerful tools for unravelling the ultimate origin of carbon （organic matter, mantle, or carbonates） and help to constrain the fluid history and the mechanisms involved in graphite deposition. Graphite precipitation in fluid-deposited occurrences results from C02- and/or CH4-bearing aqueous fluids. Fluid flow can be considered as both a closed （without replenishment of the fluid） or an open system （with renewal of the fluid by successive fluid batches）. In closed systems, carbon isotope systematics in graphite is mainly governed by Rayleigh precipi- tation and/or by changes in temperature affecting the fractionation factor between fluid and graphite. Such processes result in zoned graphite crystals or in successive graphite generations showing, in both cases, isotopic variation towards progressive 13C or 12C enrichment （depending upon the dominant carbon phase in the fluid, C02 or CH4, respectively）. In open systems, in which carbon is episodically introduced along the fracture systems, the carbon systematics is more complex and individual graphite crystals may display oscillatory zoning because of Rayleigh precipitation or heterogeneous variations of 613C values when mixing of fluids or changes in the composition of the fluids are the mechanisms responsible for graphite precipitation.

AIM:To compare the safety and effectiveness of eyelid treatment with the ILux®-MGD Treatment System in one session versus five sessions of mechanical meibomian gland expression(MMGE)in patients with moderate to severe meibomian gland dysfunction(MGD).METHODS:A prospective,randomized,open-label,and controlled clinical trial that compared one session of the ILux®MGD Treatment System versus five sessions of MMGE in both eyes of 130 patients aged≥18y with Ocular Surface Disease Index(OSDI)scores≥13,total meibomian gland scores(MGS)of<15 in the lower eyelid of each eye,and non-invasive tear break-up time(NI-TBUT)<10s,who were randomized 1:1 to ILux®or ***:The mean age was 58±*** total MGS scores in both treatment groups were *** follow-up,there were significant differences in total MGS and per sector with P<*** analysis was performed using generalized estimating equations corresponding to the generalized linear model for repeated means to determine the treatment relationship with total MGS,NIBUT,and *** was a significant difference between ILux®and MMGE(P<0.001)at follow-up from the first to the twelfth month in MGS,NI-BUT,and OSDI *** adverse events were ***:ILux®treatment compared to MMGE significantly improves symptoms and signs in patients with moderate to severe MGD for one year without adverse events.

Cetuximab （CTX） is a potent chimeric mouse/human monoclonal antibody （mAb） approved worldwide for treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer. Among the various biological and physical analyses per- formed for full study on this biopharmaceutic, the determination of the concentration preparations throughout manufacturing and subsequent handling in hospital is particularly relevant. In the present work, the study and validation of a method for quantifying intact CTX by reverse-phase high-perfor- mance liquid chromatography with diode array detection （（RP）HPLC/DAD） is presented. With that end, we checked the performance of a chromatographic method for quantifying CTX and conducted a study to validate the method as stability-indicating in accordance with the International Conference on Harmo- nization guidelines （ICH） for biotechnological drugs; therefore, we evaluated linearity, accuracy, preci- sion, detection and quantification limits, robustness and system suitability. The specificity of the method and the robustness of the mAb formulation against external stress factors were estimated by compre- hensive chromatographic analysis by subjecting CTX to several informative stress conditions. As de- monstrated, the method is rapid, accurate, and reproducible for CTX quantification. It was also suc- cessfully used to quantify CTX in a long-term stability study performed under hospital conditions.

Effect of interfacial properties on mechanical stability of ash deposit

The paper presents a study on the cohesion of volcanic ash particles using surface free energy determination and zeta potential *** is a subject of great interest in physical volcanology,as many researches on volcanic particle aggregation are frequently *** this case,special attention is paid to the role of structural or hydration forces between hydrophilic surfaces,which are a consequence of the electron-donor/electron-acceptor character of the *** this point of view,the results are potentially interesting as they could give valuable insights into this *** results are presented in terms of the total energy of interaction between dispersed particles,computed from the extended DLVO *** to the total free energy of interaction were determined from the zeta potential and surface free energy of ash,measured under different experimental *** samples of basaltic volcanic ash(black and white)with silica contents of 44% and 63% respectively are *** surface free energy and zeta potential were analysed for ashes immersed in different electrolytes(NaCl,CaCl,FeCl).The presence of electrolytes changes the surface properties of the solid *** analysis of total interaction energy between the ash particles in aqueous medium shows that soil cohesion strongly depends on ash surface properties,chemical nature,the adsorbed cation on the surface,and p H value.
