Long-term conservation tillage results in a more balanced soil microbiological activity and higher nutrient supply capacity

Soil health depletion due to intensive tillage operations is a global issue in the agricultural *** tillage(CT)which involves non-inversion tillage and leaving~30%of the soil surface covered with crop residues,is a strategy designed to enhance soil ***,no comprehensive study to investigate the long-term effect of CT on soil biological activity and the soil nutrient supply has yet been widely carried *** and chemical soil properties were assessed at depths 0-5,10-15,and 20-25 cm depths after 18 years of CT and conventional tillage practice(PT).Various stages in the vegetative growth of maize were investigated in 2021 in *** findings indicated that tillage intensity,soil depth,and growth stages all significantly influenced soil enzyme activities and the concentration of soil *** soil disturbance resulted in a significantly larger concentration of soil carbon parameters(total organic carbon and labile carbon)in CT plots,where the activity ofβ-glucosidase and dehydrogenase(DHA)in the upper soil layer increased significantly(0.7-2.6 and 2.6-4.7 times,respectively)compared to *** high amount of organic matter and the greater resistance to erosion observed in CT also contributed to the higher concentration of available nutrients(NH_(4),NO_(3),Ca,K)and total P in the surface soil *** activity was highest in the mid-stage of vegetative growth and was positively correlated to the total P *** alterations in soil water content were clearly negatively corelated with the change in DHA and phosphatase ***,due to the more balanced environmental conditions,the decomposition of organic substances was more balanced and slower in CT than in *** implied that the mobilization of nutrients in the soil was more balanced as well,and that the nutrients were released *** enhancement of the soil nutrient-supplying capacity achieved by means of long-term conservation tillage provid

Crohn＇s disease （CD） is a chronic relapsing and remitting autoinflammatory disorder of the gastrointestinal tract that has many intestinal and extraintestinal complications. The purpose of treatment is long-term remission, reduction of complications, and improvement of patients＇ quality of life. In many cases, this can be quite challenging and it is necessary to have a well thought out management strategy. We present the case of a 38-year-old woman with fistulizing CD that manifested as diffuse abdominal pain and bloody diarrhea accompanied by arthralgia. In addition, there were ulcerative lesions surrounded by cutaneous inflammation and erythema on her extremities, indicative of pyoderma gangrenosum. The patient was treated with high doses of parenteral methylprednisolone without any improvement and was started on adalimumab. A positive response to adalimumab therapy was observed： after 2 mo of therapy, the ulcerative skin lesion healed completely and the enterogastric fistula was closed affcer 5 mo adalimumab treatment. Adalimumab might be a suitable initial as well as maintenance therapy in patients with complicated CD.

AIM： To understand the local pathophysiological alterations and gene ontology-based functional classification of colonic biopsies into inflammatory and neoplastic diseases. METHODS： Total rNA was extracted from frozen biopsies and amplified by T7-method. Expression profile was evaluated by Atlas Glass 1K microarrays. After microarray quality control, applicable data were available from 10 adenomas, 6 colorectal adenocarcinomas （CrCs）, and 6 inflammatory bowel diseases （IBDs）. Multivariate statistical and cell functional analyses were performed. real-time rT-PCr and immunohistochemistry were used for validation. rESULTS： Discriminant analysis of selected genes, could correctly reclassify all 22 samples using 4 parameters （heat shock transcription factor-l, bystin-like, calgranulin-A, TrAIL receptor 3）. IBD samples were characterized by overregulated chemokine （C-X-C motif） ligand 13, replication protein A1, E74-1ike factor 2 and downregu- fated TNF receptor-associated factor 6, BCL2-interacting killer genes. In adenomas upregulation of TNF receptorassociated factor 6, replication protein A1, E74-1ike factor 2 and underexpression of BCL2-associated X protein, calgranulin-A genes were found. CrC cases had significantly increased epidermal growth factor receptor, topoisomerase-1, v-jun, TNF receptor-associated factor 6 and TrAIL receptor 3, and decreased rAD51 and rAD52 DNA repair gene, protein phosphatase-2A and BCL2-interacting killer mrNA levels. Epidermal growth factor receptor rT-PCr and immunohistochemistry, topoisomerase-1 rT-PCr confirmed the chip results .CONCLUSION： Different histological alterations can be reclassified by functional, multivariate analysis using cDNA microarrays. Further studies with expanded sample number are needed for subclassification of pathological alterations.

Crohn's disease representing a clinical phenotype of inflammatory bowel disease is a polygenic immune disorder with complex multifactor etiology. recent genome-wide association studies of susceptibility loci have highlighted on the importance of the autophagy pathway, which previously had not been implicated in disease pathology. Autophagy represents an evolutionarily highly conserved multi-step process of cellular self-digestion due to sequestration of excessive, damaged, or aged proteins and intracellular organelles in double-membranous vesicles of autophagosomes, terminally self-digested in lysosomes. Autophagy is deeply involved in regulation of cell development and differentiation, survival and senescence, and it also fundamentally affects the inflammatory pathways, as well as the innate and adaptive arms of immune responses. Autophagy is mainly activated due to sensors of the innate immunity, i.e., by pattern recognition receptor signaling. The interplay of genes regulating immune functions is strongly influenced by the environment, especially gut resident microbiota. The basic challenge for intestinal immune recognition is the requirement of a simultaneous delicate balance between tolerance and responsiveness towards microbes. On the basis of autophagy-related risk genetic polymorphisms (ATG16L1, IrGM , NOD2 , XBP1 ) impaired sensing and handling of intracellular bacteria by innate immunity, closely interrelated with the autophagic and unfolded protein pathways seem to be the most relevant immunobiologic events. Autophagy is now widely considered as a key regulator mechanism with the capacity to integrate several aspects of Crohn's disease pathogenesis. In this review, recent advances in the exciting crosstalk of susceptibility coding variants-related autophagy and innate immunity are discussed.

BACKGrOUND Current cardiac resynchronization therapy(CrT),devised to eliminate dyssynchrony in left bundle branch block(LBBB),works by pacing the latest activated left ventricular site(LALVS).We hypothesized that patients with nonspecific intraventricular conduction disturbance(NICD)pattern respond less favorably to CrT,because their LALVS is far away from that in *** By measuring the amplitude and polarity of secondary ST-segment alterations in two optional frontal and hori-zontal surface electrocardiogram(ECG)leads and using a software,we determined the resultant 3D spatial secondary ST vector,which is directed 180o away from the LALVS,in 110 patients with LBBB pattern and 77 patients with NICD pattern and heart *** validate the ECG method,we also estimated the LALVS by echocardiography using 3D parametric imaging and 2D speckle tracking in 22 LBBB patients and 20 NICD *** with NICD pattern were subdivided according to their non-overlapping frontal plane resultant secondary ST vector ranges to the NICD-1 subgroup(n=44)and the NICD-2 subgroup(n=33).rESULTS Based on the software determined coordinates of the resultant 3D spatial secondary ST vector directed 180o away from the LALVS,the LALVSs were located leftward,posterosuperior in the LBBB group,slightly left,superior in the NICD-1 sub-group,and slightly left,posteroinferior in the NICD-2 *** LALVS determined by ECG and echocardiography matched in all patients,except *** In the NICD-2 subgroup,a remote LALVS was found from that in LBBB pattern,which might explain the high non-response rate of the NICD pattern to the current CrT technique.

Background:Since 2001,the French Armed Forces have sustained many casualties during the Global War on Terror;however,even today,there is no French Military trauma *** French service members(SMs)were treated in US Military Medical Treatment Facilities(MTFs)and were recorded in the US Department of Defense Trauma registry(Do DTr).Our objective was to conduct a descriptive analysis of the injuries sustained by French SMs reported in the Do DTr and subsequent care provided to them to assist in understanding the importance of building a French Military trauma ***:Using Do DTr data collected from 2001 to 2017,a retrospective descriptive analysis was *** identified 59 French SMs treated in US *** characteristics of the SMs’demographics,injuries,care provided to them,and discharge outcomes were ***:Among the 59 French SMs identified,46(78%)sustained battle injuries(BIs)and 13(22%)sustained nonbattle injuries(NBIs).There were 47(80%)SMs injured in Afghanistan(Opération Pamir),while 12(20%)were injured in Opération Chammal in Iraq and *** accounted for 52.5%of injuries,while 25.4%were due to gunshot wounds;all were *** majority of reported injuries were penetrating(59.3%),most of which were BIs(71.7%).The mean Injury Severity Score for BIs was 12(SD=8.9)compared to 6(SD=1.7)for *** half of SMs(n=30;51%)were injured in Afghanistan between the years 2008–*** a total of 246 injuries sustained by 59 patients,extremities were the body part most prone to BIs followed by the head and *** SMs died after admission(6.8%).Conclusions:The Do DTr provides extensive data on trauma injuries that can be used to inform injury prevention and clinical *** majority of injuries sustained by French SMs were BIs,caused by explosives,and predominantly occurring to the extremities;these findings are similar to those of other studies conducted in combat *** is a need to establish a French Military tr
